Rose had a round, cheerful face; while she wasn't a classic beauty, there was something undeniably endearing about her.
Euphoria found her presence refreshing. Most other females in the tribe would only steal secretive glances at her, quickly averting their eyes the moment Euphoria looked back. Rose, however, watched her with open, honest curiosity.
After their initial greetings, Rose glanced toward the clearing where lone males were dueling to catch the eye of potential mates. She turned to Euphoria and asked, "Want to go watch the matches?"
Luce's icy gaze immediately swept over the young girl. This time, even the bold Rose felt a genuine chill crawl down her spine.
Euphoria caught the protective, brooding expressions on Luce and Wayne's faces and found it more amusing than intimidating. Still, she had always loved a good fight. Driven by a soldier's interest in combat, she stood up and said, "Let's go. I want to see this."
