Jay's POV
The beach day was supposed to be perfect. Section E was running wild in the waves, shouting, laughing, and chasing each other like kids again. But beneath all the fun, I could feel something brewing.
David had been quiet since last night. He avoided looking at me, and whenever Keifer came near, David's jaw tightened. I knew what it meant, but I didn't want to admit it.
Ci-n, of course, noticed. "Bro, why you acting like a sad telenovela character?" he teased David, splashing water at him.
David forced a smile. "I'm fine. Just tired."
But when Keifer wrapped his arm around my shoulder, David's eyes darkened.
Later, while everyone was busy eating chips under the umbrellas, David pulled me aside. His voice was low, almost trembling. "Jay… do you really like him?"
I froze. The question hit harder than the waves. "David…" I started, but he cut me off.
"You know I liked you first," he said, his eyes burning with frustration. "But you chose him."
My chest tightened. I didn't know what to say. Before I could answer, Keifer walked over, sensing the tension. "What's going on here?"
David glared at him. "Stay out of this."
Keifer stepped closer, his tone sharp. "Not when it's about Jay."
The air between them felt heavy, like a storm about to break. Section E noticed the silence and turned their heads, sensing drama.
Ci-n whispered, "Ohhh… love triangle alert."
I wanted to scream at them to stop, but my voice wouldn't come out. The waves crashed louder, as if echoing the chaos inside me.
