Jay's POV
That night, Section E gathered around a bonfire we built on the beach. Flames flickered against our faces, and the sound of waves mixed with laughter. But I couldn't shake the tension from earlier. David's words kept echoing in my head.
Keifer sat beside me, close enough that our shoulders touched. He didn't say much, but his silence felt heavy.
Ci-n broke the mood by singing off-key, "We are familyyy…" Everyone laughed, but I noticed David staring into the fire, lost in thought.
Keifer's POV
I hated the way David looked at Jay. It wasn't just friendship—it was longing. And Jay… he was too kind to push him away.
I wanted to grab Jay's hand right there, to show everyone he was mine. But I held back. Section E was watching, and I didn't want to start a war.
Instead, I leaned closer and whispered, "Don't let him confuse you. You know what you feel."
Jay's eyes flickered toward me, uncertain but warm. That look alone was enough to calm the storm inside me—for now.
David's POV
The fire crackled, but all I felt was burning jealousy. Watching Keifer whisper to Jay made my chest ache.
I wanted to shout, to tell Jay that Keifer wasn't the right one. That I could treat him better. But every time I opened my mouth, the words died.
So I just sat there, staring at the flames, hoping Jay would notice me instead.
Jay's POV
Felix suddenly shouted, "Let's play another round of truth or dare!" Everyone cheered, but I felt my stomach twist.
The bottle spun, the fire glowed, and I knew tonight wasn't just about games. Secrets were about to spill—and nothing would be the same after.
