Chapter 1 - White Space. (Prologue)

Thaddeus Wei walks slowly, his head tilted downwards a little as he walks through a space of nothing but white. Leather shoes lightly tap the invisible floor as he walks. His jacket swings as he moves his arms while he walks. Only Thaddeus knows his destination. After walking for fifteen hours, he stops and stands straight, raising his right arm. His other arm is holding an oddly shaped knife. He stabs his brachioradialis. No liquid comes out. The knife seeps into the part of the stabbing, and the stab is coated in the same texture as the knife. He then lowers his arm. Thirty centimetres in front of his feet, the floor morphs into a perfectly square entry point of void. He walks, like before, into the void.

"He needs to stop wasting my precious time," he mutters as he falls in.

Thaddeus falls like a skydiver, body extended, looking everywhere as he falls into the black space. No wind, no sounds, no feeling of comfort. Thirty seconds in, vintage wooden doors are seen suspended. "The black one," he comments. Many doors surround the man, everywhere but thirty centimetres from his body. If he pulls his limbs inwards, the doors go closer; if he extends them, they go outwards, avoiding him. As far as the man's eyes can see, there are doors. Some are ruined, some are beautiful, and many are wooden with a gold coating on the handle. A freshly painted black door is spotted way below him. Thaddeus dives downwards, and his left hand grips the golden door handle, then turns it and enters. A whirl of light rushes past his iris at a speed normal people couldn't handle. He has morphed into a new space.

"You wanted me, Towa?"

In a space incomprehensible to the human mind, there were Thaddeus and he.

"I saw something. A man who never knew about our world was put here."

"Alright, that guy should be fine. Where did he land?"

"In East Bliford, that sad sack of a city."

"Oh. No worry then, unless you want to get him."

"Ten Rouves says he will be happy there. Let us go to watch him, unless you want to keep your money?"

"We got time before the first enlightenment. By the way, was this all you wanted to say? I was having the fucking time of my life until I got teleported, then walked my ass off to get to the west entrance."

"I mean, this guy was never even born in any of our solar systems, nor galaxies. He lived in Demetrius's void."

"Does this mean I still get to watch him, then go?"

"Yes. Go now; I will meet you there."

"I'm taking the long route whether you like it or not."

"Alright, Thaddeus."

Thaddeus steps into a nearby gate of travel, leading him to the top-left part of the South District area, Pillars of Nearby Memory.

Thaddeus walks about the glistening entrance. Seeing all the designs and architecture makes him wonder how previous people built the metal and stone surrounding him. He then thinks about his wife for the rest of his walk.

How many people were here to build sculptures of this magnitude? One? A hundred? A thousand? I personally do not "care" like other people might for these things. Sara might enjoy the sheer quantity of pillars and detail in these sculptures.

Thaddeus loves headquarters, mainly the South District area, but dislikes the West District area for no particular reason. He feels the unique emotion of monochopsis at this moment — out of place, squashed in with misfits, saints, criminals, and many more people whom he never wanted to keep in his life — wanting a perfect home for him and his wife: serenity, calmness, and peace for him and his family.

After walking once again, Thaddeus arrives in the West District area. Manoeuvring around nature is relaxing for people like Thaddeus, who likes being surrounded by plants. The bottom-right part of the West District is the plantations, a resource of everything edible lying in the fields and jungle. Thaddeus walks on. Luscious fields go on for acres; soft greenery coats the ground; tall, long bushes thrive on his left; dense, majestic trees are on his right; and in front are cornfields that stretch too far. Looking up, he sees the everlasting sky of tiny dots of all colours in a blue-and-black gradient galaxy, projecting its light onto his face.

Twilight is sincere and lonely, waiting for a calm and caring man to view its beauty, hidden within the eyes of ignorance.

The fields slowly disappear the more he moves. At the end of the fields is a door.

I've rarely been here; this door, I'm sure, leads to the Southern District area, I think.

Another black door is a mere grab away, but he first walks to the left side of the door. Reaching out his hand, he finds an invisible anomaly stopping his movements so it will not get past the door. He then walks back through the door, turns the handle, and steps in. Thaddeus begins to fall upwards, like in a dream sequence. His body rotates wherever he wants, moving in a dark blue sky, embracing the freshness of flight slightly. He closes his eyes and flies upwards, his body spread out like a sugar glider.

Tick. Thaddeus opens his eyes to see that he has crossed the exosphere, now floating in the blankness of space. Tick. He closes his body inwards. Tick. Quickly, he raises his index finger in front of his face horizontally and says the words "Anomaly," "Resonant," "Over," and "Final." His index finger instantly turns grey, and he stops flying. His head darts around to see a grey circle. He then puts the finger inside it for 5.32 seconds, takes it out, and blinks. He opens his eyelids to see that he has arrived at the East Monitor Station.

The whole place is made of Hitine travertine stone; the floors are beige, the walls are vivid white, and the ceiling is breadcrumb-coloured. The place is large. The floor is smooth like tiles, and everything around him is smooth like tiles.

"Fuck. This is getting annoying." Thaddeus shakes his hand after it emits a coating of supernatural light onto his right index finger.

"It is necessary, Thaddeus. You don't want to lose your finger over laziness, right?"

I got fucking lectured again by this being. I fucking hate when people say things because they think I'm going to be careless. So bothersome.

Towa stands a hundred metres in front of him, then turns around and heads to the Everlasting Orb. After more walking, they both end up in front of the orb.

It is the size of a human, and when the right steps are taken, it will give both of them a live perspective of the new person.

[SHHWWWOOOOOOM.]

The orb's colour shifts as it glides upwards slowly, rotating. Small bits of dust, rocks, and miscellaneous things orbit the orb like a planet.

"STATE NAME."

"Towa Ufushimi."

"Thaddeus Wei."

"STATE NAME OF CHOSEN."

"Stanley Kleitos."

The orb's colour goes from grey to white and crystallises, turning into something that looks like an overgrown quartz gemstone.

[SCHHWOOOOP]

The crystals implode into the original orb, now returning to its normal size but with the texture of crystal and marble.

The two put their heads inside the orb, like dunking a head into water.

Now their perspective of life has changed into that of the chosen person, who are only able to view.

["Huh."]
