Chapter 19 - Scarlett Showing Care

"How could that be? I have no intention of dating right now."

Andrew vehemently denied it.

"Then what do you want to do? Play games?"

"Make money. Money is the most important thing."

Andrew had made up his mind before starting university: things like playing games or dating were superficial; having money was what was real.

"Oh wow, do you have startup capital?"

"I have my own clever plan for that."

"Well, you go for it. When you get rich, remember to treat your sister to Crazy Thursday every week."

"Oh, right..."

Catherine was about to say something else when a knock suddenly sounded on Andrew's door.

"Sister, I have something to do, I'll hang up now."

Without waiting for Catherine to reply, Andrew hung up the phone and then rushed to open the door for Scarlett.

Scarlett handed Andrew a bag full of snacks, "For you."

"Ah? Teacher Scarlett, you really don't need to give me this much."

Andrew felt too embarrassed to take it, but Scarlett directly stuffed it into his hands.

"Take it since I'm giving it to you. It's payment for cooking for me."

Scarlett disliked wasting time with back-and-forth refusals. He was responsible for accepting what she gave him.

"By the way, were you just talking to your mom?" Scarlett asked.

"No, I was talking to My sister."

Hearing that Andrew wasn't talking to Alexa, she nodded without asking further, then reminded Andrew, "Tomorrow is the last day of military training, and we have the formation march. Don't stay up too late."

"Oh."

After speaking, Scarlett proactively closed Andrew's door and left.

Back in her own room, Scarlett murmured to herself, "I gave him so many snacks, will help start liking me, and cooking something delicious for me next time shouldn't be treating him unfairly, right?"

Although Scarlett thought cooking wasn't hard and she could learn, she didn't think she could cook anything particularly delicious. Moreover she also liked when Andrew cooked her.

Oh sorry, when Andrew cooked food for her.

After tasting Andrew's cooking tonight, even though she didn't say it to him, she had already given him a perfect score in her heart. Moreover even if taste was slightly less, she also gave him the perfect score.

"But forcing snacks on him, doesn't that feel a bit like forced buying and selling?"

"Forget it. Anyway, he didn't say anything, so I'll consider it accepted. At worst, next time he asks for something, I'll satisfy him. After all, where would he go if he didn't accept me?" Her thoughts started wandering, but she quickly controlled herself.

Because of the handjob she had given him, it was when he was asleep. She wants to do it again, and mainly goes for it, but seeing, he hasn't slept, she isn't able to do it.

---

The next day, all first-year students gathered on the sports field, preparing for the final formation march segment of the military training.

However, when Andrew looked out, all he saw were makeshift military formations, especially their finance class four, whose leader was Johnson, that skinny and tall leader of the makeshift troops.

Furthermore, the temperature today was especially high, making everyone feel almost wilted.

When the dismissal was announced near noon, both of Andrew's arms were red and stinging from the sun.

"Damn, the principal is seriously long-winded. He said he'd just say a few brief words, but he ended up talking for over an hour."

On the way to the cafeteria for lunch, Johnson complained, immediately drawing agreement from the others.

"He doesn't get baked by the sun standing under the podium. I'm nearly cooked to death. I didn't even put on sunscreen today since it was only supposed to be a half-day."

Andrew hadn't applied sunscreen today either and felt like his skin was cracking from the sun.

After lunch, the group headed back to the dorms. On the way, Andrew was the first to notice Scarlett across the way, holding a stack of books.

Soon, Ethan and the others noticed her too, but they all pretended not to see.

Ethan was afraid of Scarlett, and the rest saw that the distance was a bit far, plus it was common knowledge that Scarlett was aloof, so they didn't go to greet her proactively.

"Right, Andy, don't play on my account today. If I get flagged again for boosting, my account will be banned for a week," Tony suddenly said to Andrew.

But when he turned around, Andrew, who was beside him a second ago, had already vanished.

"What the hell? Where did this guy go? Did he fall into a sewer?"

---

Scarlett, who had walked further away, stopped and tried to reach up to wipe the sweat beads from her face, but because the stack of books in her hands was too high, she couldn't free a hand.

"Tsk!"

Scarlett clicked her tongue in annoyance, then let out a helpless sigh, preparing to keep walking.

Suddenly, a voice reached her ears: "Teacher Scarlett, how about I help you carry some?"

Scarlett instinctively wanted to refuse upon hearing this. She didn't need help from others, especially not from other men.

But then she suddenly noticed the voice sounded somewhat familiar. Turning around, she saw Andrew standing beside her, and felt pleased by his offer.

"Just take half of what's on top."

"Okay."

Andrew reached out and took half of the books from Scarlett's hands. This made Scarlett much more relaxed and pleased, and she could see straight ahead now.

Andrew offered to help because Scarlett had given him so many snacks last night; it wouldn't look right if he saw her struggling and didn't offer assistance. Moreover, he also started seeing her more as a teacher, a girl especially a rich girl.

"Teacher, are these our textbooks?"

"Yes. Classes start next week. Remember to listen carefully. If I catch anyone playing games during class, I will deduct participation points."

"Oh!"

Andrew responded with an open mouth, marveling inwardly. But he asked again.

"Also my points!"

Hearing this, Scarlett became silent, although she was strict when teaching, but knowing it was Andrew asking her, she became confused while thinking in her mind.

'If I cut his marks, will he hate me? But if I don't cut his marks, will he go astray?' She didn't know what to do, but thinking of him hating her, and already after some talking she made his fear go away, how can she allow it.

She said in a weak tone, "I will not cut your mark, since you cooked food for me, but don't play games in the class, it is not a good habit."

Hearing her answer, Andrew unknowingly felt pleased, but he also nodded, that he will not do anything to upset her.

The two returned to the office together and put the textbooks down.

Scarlett pointed to Suzanne's desk in front, "Take the Counselor's chair over here to sit. She went out to have fun and won't be back for a while."

Andrew acknowledged her and sat down. Just as he raised his arm to check his phone, Scarlett suddenly asked him, "What's wrong with your arm?"

Andrew raised his arm to look and replied, "It got sunburned red on the field this morning. I thought it was only half a day, so I didn't apply sunscreen."

Scarlett listened and slightly pursed her lips, seeming a bit helpless, 'How could he be so careless?'

She then turned around and took a bottle of lotion from her bag.

"Stretch your arm out."

"Ah? Oh."

Andrew hesitated for a moment before stretching his hand out.

Andrew's tendency to pause before answering made Scarlett find it somewhat amusing, 'This Little Fellow clearly heard her, so why did he always pause with an 'Ah'? He seemed a bit slow. But I can't see him in pain.'

She squeezed some lotion onto her hand, then grabbed Andrew's wrist with one hand while gently rubbing the reddened area on his arm with the other.

How to describe this feeling?

Cool, soft, and very comfortable.

Scarlett's hands were very beautiful, her long fingers moving flexibly.

Andrew clearly felt Scarlett's soft palm glide over his arm, which greatly relieved the stinging heat he had been feeling.

"Stop spacing out. I've finished applying the lotion for you."

Scarlett spoke up to remind him. Andrew snapped back to reality and somewhat awkwardly pulled his hand back.

Andrew sat there for a while. Seeing that Scarlett hadn't spoken, he prepared to leave so as not to disturb her.

"Teacher Scarlett, I'll be leaving now."

"Mm."

Just as Andrew stood up, Scarlett suddenly called out to him, "Wait a moment."

"Mm? What is it?"

Under Andrew's puzzled gaze, Scarlett handed him her sun-protective jacket.

"Put this on."
