Chapter 22 - Rich Beauty Living Under Same Roof

Opening the door, Scarlett shared half of the fried chicken she had ordered for takeout with Andrew.

"Dinner was a bit awful, let's have this as a late-night snack."

When she went out to get the takeout, Scarlett had changed into an outfit for going out: a black dress. The cinched waist design and cool-toned style perfectly matched her aloof temperament.

Andrew stared at Scarlett in a daze for a moment before quickly thanking her and accepting the food.

"Thank you, Teacher Scarlett."

"Are you planning to go out tomorrow?" Scarlett suddenly asked.

"No, the weather is too hot."

"Then what are you planning for lunch tomorrow?"

"That depends on the situation. Maybe I'll order takeout, or maybe..."

Andrew stopped mid-sentence, suddenly realizing something, and looked up into Scarlett's bright eyes.

Could she be planning to make me her chef?

Although Andrew's cooking skills were decent, he didn't particularly enjoy cooking because it was quite troublesome and tiring. It was fine if someone helped, but doing everything alone really meant being busy for quite a while.

But then he thought about it: Scarlett not only drove him to and from school every day but also gave him so much food. Today, after seeing his sunburned skin, she even helped him apply lotion.

Cooking a meal for her could be considered repayment.

Besides, he didn't want to eat the food Scarlett cooked anymore. Moreover a dark desire awakened inside him.

Although he didn't want to waste time dating, if this was Scarlett, then it would be another thing.

Also, most people say, 'The way to someone's heart is through their stomach.'

And if he was able to win her, then while today he will be cooking food for her, but tomorrow he will cook her. But these all are for the future.

Thinking about all of these, he said, "I'll prepare lunch tomorrow, and I can go to the supermarket then to look around."

"Oh."

Scarlett responded with an 'Oh' and didn't ask further, turning around and returning to her room.

Closing the door, Andrew continued thinking about how to obtain startup capital.

But after thinking it over and over, he didn't know who to borrow from. As for his godchildren, forget it; they were always gathering for meals, and he probably didn't have much allowance left this month.

Ask his older sister, Catherine?

Forget it, forget it. He had to buy KFC for her last time; next time, she'd probably expect him to buy her a cup of bubble tea.

After thinking all night, Andrew still had no good ideas.

Making money was truly difficult. Just this step of securing startup capital stumped most people, including him.

Before sleeping, Andrew lay in bed scrolling through his phone and inadvertently stumbled upon a discussion thread titled, "Rocky's rich woman List: Successful Counterattack."

"Sigh, if only I could latch onto a rich woman too. But where am I supposed to find a rich woman?"

Andrew looked at his phone for a while, felt a bit sleepy, and closed his eyes to sleep.

He didn't wake up until past nine the next morning. Drowsily, he opened the door and stepped out. Scarlett was sitting in the living room. Seeing him wake up, she put down her phone, as if she had been waiting for him.

"I bought you breakfast. Go wash up, and we'll go to the supermarket after eating."

"Oh."

Andrew went to the bathroom, brushing his teeth while still thinking about last night's matters.

"I wonder if that legendary divine book, 'Contact Information for Rich Women Across the Country,' can actually be bought."

When he came out of the bathroom, Scarlett had already placed two steamed buns and a cup of milk on the table. She had changed into the black dress from last night, and she now held a white handbag that was a matching style to her tweed dress.

"I'll go drive to the apartment entrance to wait for you first. Come down once you're done eating."

Andrew nodded without thinking much. When one first wakes up, the brain is usually quite fuzzy.

By the time he finished breakfast and went downstairs, seeing the dazzling sunlight, Andrew's mind had mostly cleared up. He felt that he had just been daydreaming.

"How could there be such a divine book? Even if there were, would a rich woman bother with someone like me?"

As Andrew spoke, he walked toward the main entrance of the apartment.

When he saw that familiar Audi A6, he froze completely.

Holy cow!!!

Someone living alone in a fully furnished luxury suite, who doesn't cook but has complete kitchenware, only buys brand names and expensive things?

All the clothes and bags she wears are from the famous luxury brand, and she drives a luxury car worth sixty or seventy thousand?

????

Andrew's eyes gradually widened. He had been foolishly searching for a rich woman when the one living under the same roof as him every day was one!

Startled awake from a near-death state, the rich woman was actually beside me! And how did I forget about her!

At the same time, Scarlett rolled down the car window and said to the stunned and surprised Andrew, "What are you spacing out for? Get in!"

"Nothing, nothing."

Under Scarlett's puzzled gaze, Andrew got into the passenger seat.

Now that the rich woman was found, how should he ask her to borrow money? He couldn't just ask directly, right?

Wouldn't that make him look like a desperate creep?

After entering the supermarket, Andrew asked Scarlett what she wanted to eat so he could buy the ingredients.

Scarlett had looked at many recipes the night before and already had a clear idea of what she wanted to eat today.

But she soon noticed that Andrew was buying ingredients strictly according to her preferences, so she asked, "Aren't you going to buy some things you want to eat?"

"I'm not a picky eater, Teacher. Just tell me what you want to eat."

Scarlett didn't say anything upon hearing this; she just sized up Andrew and thought to herself: Not a picky eater, so why is he so thin?

Back at home, Andrew busied himself in the kitchen. Scarlett came over to help by prepping ingredients, but he refused, telling her to just sit and rest for a while.

After an hour, Andrew had prepared a table full of rich lunch dishes. Scarlett felt her appetite surge just looking at it and admitted to herself that she truly had no talent for cooking.

But gradually, she sensed something was a bit off. Andrew wasn't eating much; he only ate some of the vegetarian dishes, seeming to leave all the meat and the tastier parts for her.

"Why aren't you eating the meat? Only eating vegetables?"

"Uh... I'm on a diet."

"You're on a diet?"

Scarlett's sharp gaze fixed on Andrew, making him instantly look away guiltily.

Professor Scarlett's eyes were still too intimidating; he couldn't look directly at her.

After lunch, Scarlett was about to wash the dishes, since one person cooked, the other should clean, but Andrew again told her to rest and insisted on washing them himself.

"Wait a moment."

Scarlett suddenly spoke, stopping Andrew as he headed to the kitchen.

"What's wrong?"

Andrew looked at Scarlett, confused.

"Sit down first."

"Oh."

Andrew obediently sat down. Scarlett put down her spoon and said to him, "Whatever you want me to do, just say it."

"Huh???"

Andrew was stunned by this sudden statement.

"There's a saying: If someone is overly attentive for no reason, they are either a rogue or a thief. But I know you don't mean any harm; you're being so proactive because you definitely want me to do something."

"This... you found out."

Andrew swallowed hard: Truly, nothing could be hidden from Scarlett.

After struggling, hesitating, and fiercely battling within himself, Andrew mustered up some courage and spoke softly with extreme sincerity.

"Then... um, Teacher Scarlett... Can I borrow some money from you?"

He wants to see that his future girlfriend will give him some money. Yes, at first it was just a pursuing thought. But after realizing, she is alone, rich, and beautiful. Andrew had decided he would pursue her till he didn't pierce her.

"Fine. How much do you need to borrow?"

"Huh???"
