CHAPTER 35:WHAT DO THEY STAND FOR.
Elena staggered backward in shock, holding her cheek immediately.
For a second she looked completely frozen like her brain couldn't process what just happened.
"You slapped me?" she whispered in disbelief.
I stepped closer again, my expression calm but cold.
"No," I said quietly. "I corrected your behavior."
"You bitch!" Elena shouted angrily. "How dare you put your hands on me!"
"How dare I?" I laughed shortly. "You walked up to me talking nonsense and tried to hit me first."
People nearby had already started slowing down to watch the scene unfold.
Elena noticed it too and her embarrassment only made her angrier.
"You think you've won?" she spat bitterly. "You think Dominic actually loves you?"
I stared at her without blinking. "At least when he looks at me he doesn't look like he's settling."
That hit exactly where I wanted it to.
Her expression cracked instantly.
"You don't know anything!" Elena snapped.
