Jay's POV
The courtyard felt louder than usual — laughter, whispers, the clack of phones snapping photos that definitely shouldn't exist.
Someone ( c-in ) accidentally posted - on purpose - on the group chat
I knew the second Jare saw it: our infamous "caught‑kissing" picture had made its rounds. His whole face changed — that tight‑jawed, big‑brother fury I'd seen since we were ten.
"He kissed my sister," Jare muttered. "He kissed her for the second time and I warned him !."
"Technically," I said carefully, "they kissed each other. Mutual participation, remember?"
He didn't laugh. Not even a twitch. Denzel and David exchanged a look and moved fast, sliding to either side of him like bodyguards.
"Not today, man," David warned. "You throw a punch, and we're all in detention for a week."
Across the quad, Jane and Yuri were trying to act normal — as if half the school wasn't staring. Someone whistled. Someone else shouted, "Power couple!" Jane's blush could've powered a city.
Yuri chuckled nervously and reached for her hand. Huge mistake.
Jare's nostrils flared. "Oh, he did not." He took one step forward before Denzel pinned him back.
"Breathe." I planted myself in front of him, palms on his chest. "No drama, remember?"
"That's before I found out Yuri was the drama," he snapped.
Jane suddenly darted over, glaring at both of us. "Can you two not do this in front of everyone?"
"Tell your boyfriend to stop smirking," Jare said, still straining against Denzel's grip.
She glared right back. "Tell your face to stop being punchy!"
I groaned. Triplets. Every word was gasoline. "Okay!" I clapped loudly. "Family meeting later. No murder, no suspensions."
As they glared at each other, Yuri called across the quad, cool as ever: "Hey Jare, next time just ask for an autograph!"
Denzel and David both grabbed Jare tighter. I bit my lip, half horrified, half wanting to laugh. "Yup," I muttered under my breath. "Totally peaceful morning. Zero chaos. As promised."
