Chapter 19 - Park

C‑in's POV

Jay swore this walk would be peaceful. "No drama, no chaos," she said. Famous last words.

The rain had just stopped, everything on the ground shimmered, and she suddenly froze mid‑step. "Wait. C‑in, look."

I followed her gaze — and there they were. Jane and Yuri. Sitting by the big oak, uniforms still on, heads a little too close for ordinary conversation.

Jay groaned softly. "You've got to be kidding me. Again?"

"Again?" I yelled. " shush" she said

She sighed. "Remember — the Section E sleepover? Two a.m.? I got up to get water and caught them kissing by the window. I screamed so loud I woke everyone ."

I bit back a laugh. "Oh yeah ,So this is, what, the sequel?"

"Apparently." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "But if you yell again, I'm disowning you."

"Hey," I said with a smirk, slowly raising my phone. "What if we just… document? Quietly."

Jay rolled her eyes, but she didn't stop me.

Jane laughed softly at something Yuri said — and then he leaned in. The world seemed to pause, and just before their lips met— click. One perfect photo.

Jay gasped, half‑whispering, "C‑in, you did not just—"

"Archival purposes," I said, grinning.

Then Yuri's head turned. Straight toward us. His eyes narrowed, then flicked with amusement. He waved.

Jay panicked first. "He saw us. He so saw us."

We ducked behind the tree, laughing under our breath, trying not to make a sound. My shoulders shook so hard my camera almost slipped.

When we finally dared to peek out, Jane and Yuri were standing, still smiling, walking toward the park's exit hand‑in‑hand. Jay exhaled dramatically. "She's totally going to murder us if she finds out."

I pocketed my phone. "Worth it. Also, you yelling 'they're kissing' again would've been ten times worse."

She gave me a sideways glare, but her grin betrayed her. "You have no proof that I was going to yell."

"Yet."

We both burst into laughter again, walking toward the gates as the sun sank low, painting everything gold. It definitely wasn't the chill walk she promised — but with Jay, it never was .
