Jay's POV
Jare has a girlfriend and Jane has a boyfriend! Aww, my twins are officially leaving the nest… time flies so fast. One minute they're arguing over who gets the last cookie, and the next — boom — they're all mushy and in love. How dare they grow up without warning me first?!
I was doom-scrolling on my phone, half-buried under my blanket, when Ma's voice echoed through the house.
"Jay! Come downstairs!" she shouted.
With a groan, I peeled myself off the bed and trudged downstairs, almost tripping on the sleeve of my oversized Snorlax onesie. (Honestly, that thing has taken me out more times than I'd like to admit.)
Downstairs, Jare was chatting away with Ma, while Jane was fixing the hem of her dress in the mirror. I blinked blearily, trying to catch up on the situation.
Ma smiled when she saw me. "Today, we're going to the Watsons' house to meet your dad's best friend, Keizer, and his wife, Serina. They have three sons — the oldest one is actually your age."
Dad smirked and added, "So go get ready." He even threw in a wink, which made Jare snicker and Jane roll her eyes. Typical.
I bolted upstairs, my curiosity suddenly wide awake. After a quick shower, I picked out a bright yellow crop top that screamed sunshine and threw on a pair of jeans. My hair went up in a messy bun (the cute kind, not the I-give-up kind).
When I got back down, Jare was chilling in a plain T-shirt and trousers, and Jane looked absolutely adorable in her pastel dress. I couldn't help smirking — my twin fashion sense is unmatched.
"Oi, Jare! Race you to the car!" I yelled, dashing out the door.
"Unfair start!" he shouted behind me, but I was already halfway down the path. Spoiler alert — I won.
The car ride was full of laughter and teasing. Jare kept humming random songs, Jane was scrolling through her phone pretending to ignore us, and Ma kept turning around to tell us to behave. I leaned my head against the window, the city lights reflecting in my eyes,
