Chapter 21 - My Bloodline System

Chapter 21 The annoying one.

Untold to Kai, Nova was strictly told by Kyle to follow Kai around and every day write a note on his condition, and she was still confused about how someone could go through such a traumatic experience as forced blood core evolution and still be normal.

Kai sat on the bed and silently said in his mind, "System, tell me what is the use of mana manifestation?"

[Mana manifestation is a skill that most people are unable to learn. It allows you to push mana out of your bloodline core and use it outside or even control mana outside of your body at a higher level for the skill.]

[This would allow you to create invisible attacks or even reverse gravity, allowing you to fly or float, but this skill is not at its peak right now. The only skill you have at max level is your mixed regeneration.]

Kai hummed and said, "Tell me what does max level mixed regeneration do? And that silver key thing, can I use it now?"

[Yes, you can use your silver key evolver. It is a one time object allowing you to evolve one thing in your body, your bloodline core, your heart, mind, soul, anything really. And max level means that there is no way for the skill to naturally level up anymore. You normally level up by using the skill for long periods of time.]

Kai sighed and said, "Never mind, I should just save the evolver key. I would have already used the new skills if not for this brat following me around."

Then Kai got up from the bed rapidly and turned to Nova and said, "Hey."

Nova answered nearly instantly and in a cold tone, "What do you want from me?"

Kai sighed. "A bit harsh, no?"

Nova did not answer, so Kai just spoke again. "Anyway, could I get a sword or katana? I want to train."

Nova sighed and dialed a number on her phone and started speaking quickly. After a while, the hospital room door opened and Kyle entered and sat in front of Kai and said, "You want to train? But you do not know any sword or katana arts, or do you?"

Kai shook his head and said, "No, but I could use one, I think."

Kyle sighed before leaving.

Kai looked at Nova and said, "Uh, what is that meant to mean?"

Nova simply shrugged.

After a few minutes, Kyle returned with a long silver box with some kind of runes engraved on it.

Nova's eyes widened, but she did not say anything, though inwardly she was screaming, "That is a real katana. Why give it to this annoying nobody?"

Kyle said, "Kai, you are young, so let me explain. Our world is run by power, and your own strength is the law of the jungle, with two more laws. Backing is important, and most who have it reign supreme in our world. Now, a real katana would mean one made by a blacksmith, people who have bloodline abilities that allow them to smith tools for bloodline users. Now this katana is such a weapon."

Kai then said, "I do not intend on keeping it forever, just for two days at most."

Nova interjected, saying, "Here, let me simplify that for you. That katana could cost up to one hundred million. Why? Because a bloodline user who naturally has more strength and power can use it. Essentially, you need to prove you can use it, that is first. Second, prove you can give something of equal value to ensure its safety."

Kai got up and went to the case and looked at Kyle and whispered just loud enough for only Kyle to hear it, "Please open it. Let me get five swings. If you do not like them, take it away. Deal?"

Kyle sighed and said, "Deal."

Kyle turned to the briefcase and placed his hand on its center, and instantly the runes lit up as a small needle appeared and pierced Kyle's finger as a drop of blood fell on the case, and it glowed for a few seconds before it finally unlocked and opened.

Inside was a clean, sharp katana.

Kai inwardly said, "Activate inspect."

[Normal Grade Katana]

[No special abilities]

[Not bound to anyone]

[With your current bloodline rank of Earth Grade you can use this katana]

[Note: You are far stronger than the limit of this katana. It was made for spirit bloodline users and people who are weak or who just started cultivating.]

Kai sighed inwardly.

But he still picked up the katana.

It did not feel heavy. In fact, it was lighter than he expected, but he could feel its sharp edge, and thus he got into a stance.

Nova's eyes widened as she saw the stance, and she muttered, "This... this guy can use sword arts."

Kyle, on the other hand, was astounded. He was even speechless.

Then Kai swung the katana. A sharp, clean cutting sound echoed through the room.

But Kai did not stop swinging. After doing a vertical swing, he instantly moved his body fluid like water, yet his muscles bulged like steel.

As he, for the first time, activated a skill without the system's help.

It was mana manifestation. As he swung his katana horizontally toward a cupboard, an invisible slash left his katana and cleanly cut the cupboard and even created a large glass like fracture on the wall.

Kyle's legs shook as he screamed, "That! No, there is simply no way you know sword aura!"

Kai looked dumbfounded. "Sword aura?"

Kyle sighed in relief and said, "If that was not sword aura, what was it?"

Kai answered with a smile, "Mana manifestation."

Kyle's eyes widened even more as he said, "How? But I thought only spirit grandmasters could do that. You only gained your bloodline two days ago."

[You have learned a new skill]

[Mana slash Level 1: Creating a slash of mana with your weapons]

Kai said, "I do not know how. Anyway, so can I use it to train?"

Kyle got up and cleared his throat before trying to compose himself and failing as he said, "Use it? No, you can even keep it."

Kai bowed slightly to show respect and said, "Thank you, I will return this debt one day."

Kai then grabbed the katana and its sheath and left the room to the courtyard. Neither Nova nor Kyle moved.

After a few seconds, both snapped out of their daze, and Kyle instantly spoke, "Nova, you did not see anything in this room. Go follow him, watch over him. Do you understand?"

Nova got up instantly, bowed down before saying, "Yes, master."

And she ran out of the room in a hurry, searching for Kai.

While Kai was in the courtyard, it was empty. After all, it was meant to be lunchtime, but Kai was skipping it to train today.

And he was quite interested. "System, give me a detailed list of my skills."
