Chapter 24 - My Bloodline System

Chapter 24 Academy

In front of Kai, the holographic screen appeared again out of thin air.

There were around 20 things he could buy with Exp, and at the top of the holographic screen, five sections were clear.

[Weapons] [Armour] [Resources] [Techniques]

Weapons was the one selected right now, and in front of him were many weapons, but only five of them showed a brighter color while the rest looked grayed out.

Kai asked about it as the system answered.

[You lack the power to use them and enough Exp to buy them.]

Kai sighed and started reading the names of the weapons he could buy. Each one was 100 Exp or more.

[Phantom Dagger]

[Cost: 130 Exp]

[Flaming Sword]

[Cost: 100 Exp]

[Cometfall]

[Cost: 200 Exp]

Kai sighed after seeing just the prices. He planned on getting to the next system level so he could put most of his attributes into his own strength. Without the limit, he could get to any level he wanted as long as he had the points for it.

Kai kept sighing more and more as he muttered, "I am so broke."

Kai decided to click on Techniques because he wanted to figure out what he could get, and his eyes widened.

[Basic Cultivation Technique] (50 Exp)

[Nightfall Martial Arts] (100 Exp)

[Scarlet Flames] (90 Exp)

[Whispering Wind Movement Technique] (150 Exp)

[Iron Body Tempering Technique] (150 Exp)

The rest of the techniques were too expensive for Kai. Though he leveled up many times, he had barely gained any Exp.

[250 / 600 Exp]

Kai already knew he would need many things, mainly techniques, but he was already kind of poor, so he was going to pick the most important ones.

Since he knew he could not get an explanation for them, he had to pick on gut feeling alone.

Though he knew what cultivation was, so he knew it was definitely needed.

So he bought it.

[200 / 600 Exp]

[You have bought Basic Cultivation Technique]

But the messages did not stop.

[You have bought Nightfall Martial Arts]

[100 / 600 Exp]

Kai had practically spent all of his Exp. He still had an idea of where to get most of it back, if not more, by killing beasts. After all, they were confined and weak, but it was not like he was not weak himself.

His mom had bought him a phone last night and some necessities. He had a duffle bag with him. It had some money, around 10k—by no means a lot, but enough for him to live comfortably. The phone had everything needed.

Kai still remembered the system calling his family poor.

So he wondered how they could even get all of this and how the hospital bill had been paid.

The next day soon rolled around, and the door to Kai's hospital room opened.

Kai was wearing a soft t-shirt and black pants, and he heard two pairs of footsteps walking into the room.

He recognized one—Nova—but not the other.

As they turned the corner, Kai saw the short Nova also wearing something fit for going outside, while the unknown man was wearing a clean, tidy black suit. He nodded slightly to Kai and said, "You must be Kai, correct?"

Kai answered, "Yes, and you are my transport?"

The man chuckled and said, "You can say that, though I am Elder Huan."

The man then asked, "Are you both ready?"

Kai nodded and then asked, "Both?"

Nova finally spoke up. "I am going to the academy..."

Kai did not answer, but just got up and wore the duffle bag, its strap around his chest and shoulder, flowing under his arms.

All three of them moved outside the hospital.
