After limping for a short while Nero was able to recover from his accidental minor injury, making a mental note to practice flying more before trying to look cool by jumping off a cliff
Arriving at the dungeon Nero instantly noticed something, although the earlier floors weren't that dark there was usually a noticable difference in the light levels, but today he felt like his sight wasn't affected in the slightest
"It must be because I'm now part devil" Nero thought, happy at the small benefit that he hadn't expected, noticing a goblin from a distance that he usually wouldn't have
"Time to test out my new magic" he decided, starting out by making a mock version of Bell's firebolt and firing it at the unsuspecting monster
Taking the hit the goblin instantly perished, completely within Nero's expectations as he left the magic stone where it was as the stones of the monsters on the upper floors didn't interest him, so he left it for a newbie adventurer to discover
As he continued onwards, testing out the different types of elemental he discovered something, the element that he was able to use the easiest was ice which he had expected, but he found that it wasn't as powerful as when he used Black ice, but he was able to control it better, able to change its size and shape quite easily compared to the black ice that was the same time every time that he used it with only its size and amount changing
"This is probably the difference between black ice being a technique and this new way of creating ice is pure magic" he determined, wondering what other differences there might be and deciding to ask Rias later tonight during training, or Yumi if she turned back up
As he descended the floors his new magic became unable to take out the monsters in a single hit, something that Nero had been expecting due to him being unable to take them out with his black ice once he reached a certain point, but this was in fact something Nero wanted
Proceeding slightly lower to floor 7 Nero found exactly what he was looking for, a killer ant that was on its own
"Alright then buddy, time to help me out with a little experiment" he smiled, aiming his hand at the ant and using his newest and most powerful magic, destruction magic
The mass of destructive magic fired out of his hand, instantly erasing the ant from existance
"Woah, I knew this magic would be powerful, but this seems like overkill" Nero commented, before noticing something wrong
"Wait, where's the magic stone, did my magic not only take out the monster but even the magic stone along with it"
Searching around Nero was unable to find even a trace of the magic stone that the monster was supposed to drop
"Damn it, this makes this magic slightly less useful as it will reduce the amount of money that I can earn if I use it" Nero groaned "but at least it's something that I can use anytime I get in a tough spot, or if I see a group of imps after I am done in the dungeon for the day" he chuckled to himself as he continued downwards
Arriving on floor 10 Nero got out his tessen and prepared himself to actually earn some money and some energy in preperation for his next trainer summon once he had learned everything that Rias could teach him, the energy he got from each monster being reduced back to the amount that he usually got compared to the increased amount that he had got after he finished Yumi's training before he summoned Rias
Looking down at his tessen a thought came to his mind "Yumi would sometimes freeze enemies on contact with her tessen due to channeling her ice energy into them, I wonder if I could do the same? and if I can I wonder if I can use other elements as well" Nero pondered
Staying by the stairs Nero tried out his idea, finding that he was unable to use any element apart from ice with his tessen, although he could feel that with a bit more training that he should be able to use his destruction magic on his tessen
"Alright, testing is done, time to go earn some money and energy" Nero declared to himself, walking further into the floor
Durning his time on this floor, Nero was able to figure out a use for his destruction magic, larger monsters had their magic stones in the center of their bodies, meaning that it didn't matter if their limbs were taken out meaning that any time he came across an orc he was able to deal with it incredibly easily by blasting off its arms and legs before stabbing it in the head, taking it out without any worry of taking any damage
"If only it was this easy to take out those damn imps" Nero sighed as he collected an orcs magic stone, keeping his guard up due to knowing that somewhere nearby there was definately a group of imps around somewhere waiting for him to lose focus
"I suppose now that I've got used to all of the monsters on this floor and have a way to more easily deal with the monsters on the next floor" he determined, knowing that from the next floor that there were much bigger monsters waiting for him such as infant dragons that he wouldn't have been able to deal with with only his tessen, silver backs that were like a bigger faster version of the orcs and hard armored's that would be much easier to deal with if he didn't have to worry about aiming only for its soft underbelly
After walking for a short distance Nero finally found the enterance to the 11th floor and descended after checking that he was ready to do so and that he still had some space in his backpack for a few more magic stones.
