Keifer's POV
The meetings were over. The schedules were set, the discussions wrapped up—finally, they were back at Watson Enterprises in London.
Jay walked beside him, carrying her notes, looking calm and professional as always. But even after all this time, he couldn't stop noticing her—the way her hair fell softly over her shoulders, the subtle nervous energy that lingered around her, the small flinch she gave when he brushed past.
He leaned just slightly closer as they reached the elevator, letting his presence brush against hers. "Jay," he murmured low enough for only her to hear, "you really stood out today. You kept up with everything perfectly… and you looked incredible doing it."
Her cheeks burned. She tried to keep her composure, lowering her gaze to her notes. "Th-thank you, sir," she whispered, voice trembling slightly.
Keifer let a small, teasing smirk tug at his lips. "You have no idea the effect you have," he added, leaning just a fraction closer, letting her feel the warmth radiating off him.
Jay's POV
Her pulse raced. The subtle closeness, the low teasing of his voice—it was impossible to ignore. She tried to focus on her notes, but her hands shook slightly as she realized how dangerously close he was.
Why does being near him feel like this? she thought, heart thumping in her chest.
Keifer's POV
He noticed every tiny reaction—her quick inhale, the way she pressed her lips together, the faint flush coloring her cheeks. Each one made him want to lean even closer, to let the tension build even more.
She's mine to notice. And right now… I'll make sure she feels it, he thought, satisfied with the simmering tension between them.
As they entered the office, the air around them seemed charged, unspoken attraction humming silently. Neither had touched, yet both could feel the closeness, the pull, and the promise of something more.
