Chapter 39 - village head haru

After helping the Kingdom soldiers, the four travelers resumed their long journey home. The ox-cart creaked steadily along the winding road, the sun rising and setting many times as days turned into weeks.

One quiet evening, while the others were setting up camp, Luo Feng walked a short distance away from the fire. He stood alone beneath the stars, the Cosmic Trident Spear resting on his shoulder. Purple lightning continued to crackle softly along its black prongs, humming with unimaginable power.

This trident is too powerful, he thought to himself, his calm farmer's face serious for once. One mistake… one careless swing… and I might destroy this entire world. The void-cutting edge, the cosmic lightning, the way it can tear through space itself — it's not a weapon for a simple man like me. I will never use it again unless it is a true life-and-death fight. From now on, only the dagger. That is enough.

He gently slid the trident into the Storage Bag, where it would stay hidden and safe. From his belt he drew the slender Adamantite dagger instead. It felt light and familiar in his hand — sharp enough for anything he truly needed, but not something that could accidentally end the world.

He returned to the campfire with the same gentle smile he always wore. Miya noticed the change in his eyes and quietly slipped her hand into his, but she said nothing. She understood without words.

They continued traveling day after day and night after night — walking under blazing sun and sleeping under starry skies, sharing simple meals, laughing together, and growing even closer as a group. Miya and Luo Feng slept side by side every night, wrapped in each other's arms, their love deepening with every mile closer to home.

Finally, after many long weeks, the familiar green hills and wooden gates of Eden Village appeared on the horizon.

Smoke rose peacefully from the chimneys. The fields — now lush and golden — swayed in the breeze. The new pond sparkled under the sun, and the bamboo water pipe still sang its steady song. Children were playing near the gates. Elders sat outside their huts. The moment the villagers spotted the ox-cart and the four returning travelers, a great cheer rose up.

Chief Haru came running first, followed by Lira, Suki, and almost every soul in the village. Tears of joy filled their eyes as they surrounded the cart.

"You're back!" Chief Haru shouted, pulling Luo Feng into a tight hug. "Our savior… our friend… welcome home!"

Miya's mother and father embraced her with happy sobs. Kael and Lin Wang were mobbed by their friends, proudly showing off their new Mithril armor and swords.

Luo Feng looked around at the smiling faces, the healthy crops, the full bellies, and the warm welcome. His heart felt full in a way it never had back in Churachandpur.

He was home.

The unblessed farmer who had once been thrown away by a goddess had returned to the village he helped save — stronger, wiser, and quietly carrying secrets that would keep them safe for many years to come.
