Chapter 42 - The kude daughter nana

Meanwhile, far away in the capital of the Dragon Kingdom, Duke Harlan sat in his study late at night, reading a letter delivered by a tired royal messenger.

The letter was from his eldest daughter, who was studying at the Royal Academy.

Father,

I'm sorry, but I cannot come home right now.

We are all training harder than usual. The demons and monsters have started behaving strangely — they have become extremely aggressive and are attacking many places at once. Even the academy grounds were attacked last week. Don't worry, no one here was injured. The teachers and senior students protected us well.

I will try to come home next year when things calm down. Please take care of Mother and my little sister. Tell her I miss her.

With love,

Your daughter

Duke Harlan folded the letter with a heavy sigh. He had been looking forward to introducing his daughter to Luo Feng and the people of Eden Village. Now it seemed that plan would have to wait.

What no one in the kingdom knew was that this sudden chaos was not random.

It was the Goddess of Light's doing.

Five months earlier, after summoning the five heroes, she had grown impatient. She secretly sent a message through the Church of Light:

"Send the heroes and a strong force of soldiers into the Demon Lord's territory. Attack and kill him before he grows too powerful."

Obeying the Goddess's divine command, the Church gathered the five blessed heroes along with several elite knight orders. They launched a surprise raid deep into demon lands. The heroes slaughtered many demons, destroyed several border strongholds, and then retreated safely back to human territory.

The Demon Lord, enraged by the unprovoked attack and the deaths of his people, declared full-scale war.

Now demons and monsters across the continent were going mad with fury, launching raids on human villages, towns, and even academies. The peaceful days the kingdom had enjoyed were rapidly disappearing.

The Goddess of Light, sitting on her crystal throne in another realm, watched everything with cold satisfaction.

"Everything is proceeding as planned," she murmured. "The five heroes will grow stronger through this war. They will become the saviors the world needs… and that useless farmer who slipped into my summoning will remain forgotten in some backwater village."

She had no idea that the "useless farmer" was now happily preparing for his wedding tomorrow in Eden Village, armed with cosmic-level weapons and quietly building a prosperous life for the people who had accepted him.

Back in Eden Village, the night was peaceful. Luo Feng and Miya slept soundly in each other's arms, completely unaware of the war brewing in the wider world.

Tomorrow would be their wedding day — a day of joy, celebration, and new beginnings for the small village that had once known only hunger and despair.
