A peaceful week passed after the wedding.
Eden Village continued to bloom. The fields grew greener, more merchants visited thanks to Duke Harlan's word spreading, and the new pond provided fresh fish every day. Luo Feng and Miya spent their days quietly building their new life together — working in the fields side by side, sharing meals with the family, and stealing gentle moments alone in their small hut.
One bright morning, Miya woke up feeling strangely tired and nauseous. She quietly visited the village healer with her mother. When she returned home that afternoon, her face was glowing with a mix of nervousness and pure joy.
She found Luo Feng tending the small garden behind their hut. The moment he saw her, he straightened up, wiping dirt from his hands.
"Miya? What is it?" he asked gently, noticing the shine in her eyes.
She took both his hands and placed them on her still-flat belly, her voice soft and trembling with happiness.
"I… I'm pregnant, Feng. We're going to have a child."
Luo Feng's calm face broke into the widest, most genuine smile anyone in the village had ever seen. He pulled her into his arms, lifting her gently off the ground and spinning her once before setting her down carefully, as if she were the most precious thing in the world.
"Our child…" he whispered against her hair. "Thank you, my wife."
The news spread like wildfire. By evening, the entire village knew.
Chief Haru and Lira were overjoyed — Haru actually cried happy tears for the second time that year. Little Suki jumped around screaming with excitement about becoming an aunt. Kael and Lin Wang immediately started planning how they would teach the baby to use a sword "just in case."
That same night, the whole village threw a grand banquet in the square to celebrate the coming baby.
Long tables groaned under plates of roasted fish, fresh maize, sweet fruits, and barrels of the special grape wine. Lanterns and flowers hung everywhere. The entire two hundred villagers gathered, laughing and cheering as Chief Haru raised his cup.
"Tonight we celebrate not just a marriage, but new life! Luo Feng and Miya have brought hope to our village again. May their child grow up strong, healthy, and surrounded by love!"
Everyone cheered loudly. Drums and simple flutes began to play. People sang old village songs at the top of their voices while dancing in wide circles around the bonfire. Children ran around with flower crowns. Elders clapped and stomped along happily. Kael and Lin Wang led the younger men in a lively sword dance with their new Mithril blades flashing safely in the firelight.
Luo Feng and Miya sat at the center of it all, hands joined, smiling at every toast and congratulations. Miya leaned her head on his shoulder, her face glowing with quiet happiness.
The celebration lasted until late into the night, laughter and music echoing across the fields long after the stars came out.
When the bonfire finally burned low and the last song faded, the villagers slowly returned to their homes, still smiling and wishing the couple well.
Luo Feng and Miya walked back to their little hut hand in hand. Once inside, they closed the door, undressed each other slowly, and slipped under the blanket together — naked, warm, and closer than ever.
Miya rested her head on Luo Feng's chest, one hand gently placed over her belly. He wrapped his arms around her protectively, kissing the top of her head.
"Our child will be born into a good place," he whispered. "Thanks to you… and everyone here."
Miya smiled sleepily. "Thanks to you, my husband."
They fell asleep soundly in each other's arms — skin against skin, hearts full, the gentle night breeze carrying the faint sounds of the sleeping village through the window.
A new chapter had truly begun for Eden Village… and for the family that was about to grow.
