Ben went for a walk alone in the woods to get the Omnitrix.
He checked his mission, and now there was an arrow pointing in the direction where the Omnitrix was going to appear.
"Let's go…"
He looked up.
He stopped to watch a shooting star—the "star" was actually the pod launched from the spaceship.
"Wow, a shooting star…"
'Seems like my future self is going to kick it towards me now!'
Suddenly, it changed its trajectory and aimed straight for Ben, who managed to dodge it using his flexibility and acrobatic movement skills.
"Wow, looks like a satellite or something," Ben said.
The land was perfectly fine where he was standing, but suddenly it broke for unknown reasons, and he slid toward the pod.
As Ben inspected the crater and came face-to-face with the pod, it opened by itself, revealing a glowing green device that looked like a watch—the Omnitrix.
"A watch? What's a watch doing in outer space?" Ben asked aloud, acting as best as he could.
Ben slowly reached for it, but the watch suddenly sprang to life and latched onto his wrist.
"Wow! Get off me! Get off!"
But it attached itself firmly.
Of course, Ben immediately claimed the Omnitrix knowledge reward in his mind.
"Ciel, claim the reward: Omnitrix basic knowledge. Leave the recalibration for later."
[Okay, Ben.]
Ben instantly gained knowledge—how to transform, how to revert without waiting for the timer, and details about some fail-safes.
He then started running toward Grandpa Max, acting terrified.
"Ben sure is taking a long time. Grandpa, do you think he's in some kind of trouble?"
Gwen said, looking toward the forest.
"Well… he's smart. I don't think he'll get into trouble. Plus, there's not much in this forest… though he never causes trouble in the first place," Grandpa said proudly, but still feeling uneasy. "Alright, let's find him."
"Hm."
Gwen and Grandpa Max entered the woods.
Elsewhere, Ben had already stopped running and started examining the watch.
He pressed a button, causing the faceplate to pop up and show a silhouette.
This was it—the Omnitrix. His eyes were practically shining.
Out of nostalgia, he selected Heatblast, as it was the first one shown, and pushed the faceplate back down.
A green light flashed.
His body immediately began to change, transforming into a being made of flame and rock—the alien Heatblast.
"Hey, check it out—I'm totally hot! Hahaha!"
In this form, Ben observed his flaming hands and body. He knew he wouldn't feel pain.
He decided to test it, launching fireballs at nearby trees.
"No, I have to do this… Fire Style: Rasengan!"
In his excitement, he accidentally set the forest on fire.
He looked at the burning trees, then at his hands, then back at the trees again then his hands again... Placing his hands on top of his head , shouting.
"Wha—no way! How could I forget I was in a forest?!"
"Wait… let's stop the fire first…"
"Oh yeah—Heatblast can absorb flames too…"
Ben knelt down, placed his hands on the ground, and began absorbing the fire.
Eventually, the flames died out, though some trees had already burned to ashes.
"Hey! Who are you?" Gwen asked, holding an extinguisher, ready to act if needed.
"Wait, Gwen—it's me, Ben!"
"Huh? Ben?"
"Gwen, are you alright? Did you find Ben?"
Max asked, then froze when he saw the alien—it was a Pyronite.
"Wait, Grandpa—it's me," Ben said, quickly explaining everything.
"Ben…?" Grandpa Max was shocked.
After hearing everything, he realized—it must be the Omnitrix.
Ben took them to where he found it. The pod was still there.
Then Ben looked at the pod. It was Galvan tech—he might be able to use it later with Grey Matter.
It was better to take it than leave it behind.
So he asked Gwen to pick up the pod and started heading back toward Grandpa's Rustbucket.

Scene shifts to outer space—inside the large spaceship.
The squid-faced alien inside the healing pod, looking almost dead with half his body gone, was enraged.
"What do you mean it's not there?! This battle nearly cost me my life, and you say the Omnitrix is no longer on board inside the transport?!"
His subordinate replied,
"The sensors indicate a pod was launched from the ship just before boarding. It landed on the planet below."
The squid-faced captain ordered a robot behind him.
"Go! Bring it to me!"
The robot followed the orders.

At the campsite—
"So it just attached to your wrist just like that?" Gwen asked, throwing a marshmallow toward him.
"Yeah, I was just checking it out out of curiosity, but it attached to me," Ben said, roasting the marshmallow with his heat and chewing it.
"I believe you, Ben," Grandpa said.
('After all, I know what that watch is and where it came from.')
"Think he's going to stay a monster forever?" Gwen asked
"He's not a monster—he's an alien," Grandpa said with certainty.
Ben and Gwen looked at him in shock .
Grandpa realized his mistake.
"I mean—look at him. What else could he be?"
Ben felt amused watching Grandpa Max try to explain it while hiding his Plumber identity.
"Well, there must be some solution for this…"
"Don't worry, Ben. We will figure things out," Grandpa Max reassured him.
Beep beep beep
The watch flashed red, and Ben transformed back into a human again.
"Oh, looks like there's some kind of time limit on this thing," Ben said.
"Well, don't fool around with that thing anymore. I will go check out the crash site one more time. You guys stay here and don't make trouble, alright?" Grandpa said, taking a torch and walking away.
From the large spaceship, a pod-shaped robot descended onto the planet.
It reached the forest and checked the crash site where the pod was supposed to be.

It could not find it and sent two drones to search for it.

Behind the Rustbucket, Ben was using the Omnitrix, checking out the alien silhouettes, thinking about which alien he would use against the robot.
He didn't want to destroy it completely. After all, it was alien tech—he could create something useful. Even if he didn't use it, he could give it to others for protection.
"So… Grey Matter?"
"Hey, Grandpa said don't mess around with that," Gwen said from the side.
"Well, don't tell me you're not even a little bit curious about this watch?"
"Well, I don't care, but I want to know—what was that pink rope-like thing you created at school and used to hang JT and Cash from the tree?"
Gwen was very interested in that energy. Her intuition told her she could do it too.
"Well, that's mana energy… I was creating it for the first time today too…"
Ben explained, then created an energy sphere in his hand and showed it to Gwen.
"From what I understand, it can heal wounds, regenerate, create barriers, or form this energy sphere. I have a feeling it can do way more, but for now, that's all I know."
"Wow… can you teach me?" Gwen clasped her hands together, her eyes sparkling.
"Well, why not? But you have to call me Boss or Team Leader. How about it? Pretty good deal, right?"
"Oh, come on. Haven't you grown out of your chunibyou phase yet? Why are you talking about creating an organization again?" Gwen looked at him like he was an idiot and stepped back slightly.
"Well, look—this watch seems like a high-tech alien gadget. I can transform into various aliens to fight villains, stop crime, and become a hero. Don't you want to save people too? Just think about it. If you learn this mana power, you can do so much more," Ben said, trying to convince her.
Gwen thought for a moment, then sighed.
"Alright, fine. So what are you going to do now, Mr. Boss?"
"Perfect. I'm going to give you something—but don't tell others, okay? It's my greatest secret."
"Okay," Gwen replied seriously.
Ben spoke to Ciel in his mind.

A blue orb appeared above his hand. He pointed it toward Gwen, and it merged into her.
Feeling a warm energy flowing through her body, she asked,
"What did you do, Ben?"
"Well, I gave you a gadget (system). It will create missions, and when you complete them, you get rewards. I got my rewards like this too."
"Wow, that's amazing! Is that why you're so much stronger?"
"Well, yeah… kind of. So it's awesome, right?"
"Yeah, awesome. So what do I do?"
"Well, just call out 'System' in your mind, and it will appear as a panel in front of you."
"Alright… System."
