Next day in the morning,
Ben woke up and looked around, seeing no signs of Sandra or Natalie.
He sighed, thinking today he might not experience that feeling.
While he was thinking this, Ciel greeted him ,

He was practically jumping around in happiness.

In outer space, two spaceships are locked in a firefight.
One is a large brown ship, putting pressure on a smaller teal ship.
The small ship attacked…
"Total 20% damage to the ship detected, but the system is still operational."
The robot looked at the monitor, checking the damage, and reported to the side where a squid-faced alien sat—the captain of the ship.
The larger ship's alien captain declared,
"I have come too far to be denied… The Omnitrix shall be mine! And there's not a being in the galaxy who dares to stand in my way!"

Meanwhile, back on Earth, Ben sat impatiently in school, checking the clock again and again.
Finally, school ended. The classroom teacher announced that she would be teaching summer school; those who wanted to join could sign up.
As they were leaving, the teacher called Ben and Gwen and asked if they wanted to join.
"I'm sorry, teacher, but for the three-month summer vacation, our grandpa is taking us on a road trip, so we can't join," Ben and Gwen explained politely.
Hearing this, the teacher told them to have fun and take care of themselves, saying they were the stars of the school.
They came out and saw JT and Cash bullying a classmate, demanding money.
Gwen was about to yell at them, but Ben stopped her and said he would handle it.
He wanted to try his Anodite skills.
He created a small energy sphere, then changed its shape into a rope. He tied them up and hung them from a tree.
Gwen didn't know how he did it and asked him.
Ben said he would tell her later. For now, they should go—Grandpa must be waiting.
Gwen nodded and followed behind him.
The kid who was bullied was told by JT and Cash to help them get down.
He apologized and said he would look for a ladder—but after walking around for a while, he ran away, shouting,
"You two bastards deserve it!"
Outside the school,
Their grandfather, Max Tennyson, was standing before the Rustbucket, waiting for them. When he saw them, he smiled and waved.
Grandpa said it was finally time for their trip. He said they were never going to forget this explosive adventure.
Ben's excitement dropped as soon as he remembered some details—his grandpa's cooking—and imagined eating worms in a bowl.
He shivered.
Thankfully, the inventory function would be a great help. Inside it were a lot of delicious cooked meals that wouldn't spoil. He could take food out anytime, anywhere—so convenient.
Max hummed a song in the Rustbucket to start their highly anticipated summer road trip.
Ben and Gwen talked to each other as time passed.
They soon arrived at their first destination: a campsite.
"Alright, it's time to eat!"
Max came out with a bowl filled with worms moving around.
Although Ben already knew, he still took a step back.
Gwen asked, "Grandpa, what are these?"
"These are marinated mealworms. Hard to find them fresh in the States. It's considered a delicacy in some countries," Grandpa replied.
"Yeah, and totally gross in others, right?" Gwen said, watching a worm fall from the bowl and crawl toward her.
"If these don't sound good, I've got some smoked sheep tongues in the fridge," Grandpa said.
"Can't we eat anything else, like normal food?" Ben asked.
"What nonsense, Ben! I said before, this summer is going to be an explosive adventure for your taste buds! Wait, I'll grab the sheep tongues," Grandpa Max said.
"Hey Ben, what do you have? I have some rice cakes and hard candy," Gwen whispered.
"Well, I packed some snacks in case of emergency. Don't worry, there's a lot for both of us."
"Wow… although I don't want to admit it, you are quite reliable when it matters," Gwen said.
Ben puffed his chest proudly, then glared at her.
"What do you mean? I'm always reliable, okay?"
"Yeah, yeah," Gwen said dismissively.
They started bickering again.
Finally, they agreed to avoid their grandpa's cooking at all costs.

Back in space, the battle continues.
The larger ship fires again, blasting parts of the smaller ship.
The robot reports the situation to its captain.
The squid-faced captain says, "Prepare to board. I want the Omnitrix now!"
As he orders his crew to board the opponent's ship, the smaller ship fires a well-aimed shot, destroying the control room and engulfing him (Vilgax) in a fiery explosion, severely wounding him.
In retaliation, his ship destroys the smaller one with a massive blast—but not before it launches a pod that falls toward Earth.
Ben was busy on his phone, making plans in his head about the Omnitrix and how he was going to act, preparing himself.
After all, not only Grandpa, but his future self and Dr. Paradox might be watching too—he needed to put on a show for them.
Gwen was doing her work on her laptop.
Grandpa saw them and sighed.
"Hey, who wants to roast some marshmallows?"
No answer.
"Okay… how about some scary stories?"
"Sigh… Grandpa, what could be more scary than your cooking with those ingredients and telling us to eat it?" Gwen said dramatically, wiping imaginary sweat from her forehead.
Ben burst out laughing but didn't look at them and continued making his plans.
"Oh, come on, Gwen, Ben—we are all in this together. You can do this when we are on the road. You'll have the whole summer for it. "
"How about we have some fun now? Okay?" Grandpa said.
"Huh… seems like there's no helping it. Alright, Grandpa, let's do it," Gwen said, closing her laptop.
"Grandpa, I'm going for a walk in the woods for a while," Ben said.
