Ben, Gwen, and Grandpa Max were camping beside a lake.
Grandpa wanted to go on a fishing trip.
Ben knew there was a Kraken in the lake, and also that some people were smuggling the Kraken's egg.
He would definitely beat them up.
But for now, he was going to collect all his rewards, which he got from completing those missions.
He just didn't have the time to properly claim them before—now was the perfect time.
So he went inside the Rustbucket. Grandpa Max was preparing dinner.
He opened his status panel and saw the missions.
[Mission – Find the Omnitrix in the forest]
[Rewards – Omnitrix Basic Knowledge (how to use it, etc.) (Already Claimed)
Omnitrix Recalibration — After recalibration, the Omnitrix system becomes energy-based (Alien Force) instead of strict timer-based (Classic). "Hmm, I have quite a lot of unclaimed rewards… especially those new alien unlocks…"
"Alright, Ciel—save the 4 alien enhancement rewards for later use and claim the Omnitrix recalibration reward…"
He was deliberately playing around with the watch so he could use it as an excuse, pretending he didn't know how it recalibrated.
Ding.
[Omnitrix Recalibration Beginning]
The Omnitrix's green glow turned blue and began shining brighter and brighter.
Grandpa Max noticed and hurried toward him.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know, Grandpa—it just said it's rebooting. Maybe fixing some glitches? That's why it's updating itself?"
Ben said, acting clueless.
Gwen also came and watched.
After all, there was nothing they could do except wait.
After a few minutes, the blue glow turned back to green.
The Omnitrix began to change.
Its design shifted from a bulky bracelet to a slim, watch-like form.
The watch glowed green.
Ben really liked this design.

He pressed the button, and the Omnitrix activated again.
This time, instead of just silhouettes, it displayed full holograms of the aliens.

Ben cycled through them one by one—
Heatblast, Wildmutt, XLR8, Diamondhead, Four Arms, Grey Matter, Stinkfly, Ripjaws, Upgrade, and finally Ghostfreak.
Everything looked so cool.
Then he claimed the rewards for the random alien unlocks.
No matter which aliens he got, he would be happy—as long as they weren't something he would unlock soon anyway.
[Congratulations, Ben. You have unlocked 4 new aliens: 1. Kickin Hawk 2.Rath 3.Goop
4.Big Chill]
"Wow… all of them are good aliens.
Especially Big Chill—if used well, it can beat most villains from the classic series."
"Add them to the Omnitrix…"
All the available aliens appeared together as holograms.
One by one, they were added to the roster. Finally, the four new ones appeared at the end.

"Wow, Grandpa! Looks like with the upgrade, there are even new aliens to use…"
Ben said excitedly.
"Looks like we need to increase your training, Ben. You need to understand those aliens and their fighting styles faster," Grandpa Max said seriously.
"Okay, Grandpa, I agree," Ben replied. He wouldn't refuse something like that.
"Oh, congratulations, Ben, on getting new aliens. Looks like I have to increase my training too," Gwen said.
"Yes, your magic has a lot of potential, so train properly, Gwen," Ben said, winking at her.
"Alright, make yourself familiar with the new watch, Ben. If not, you might not even find the right alien to transform into—it could be dangerous," Grandpa Max said, then went back to preparing dinner.
"Yawn… I'll see you later, Ben. Wake me up when it's dinner time," Gwen said, yawning.
"Sure, Gwen, I will," Ben replied, then started familiarizing himself with the watch.
Then Gwen went to sleep.
After Grandpa made dinner, he woke her up.
This time, Grandpa had finally made
something normal—a kind of fish dish. It was better not to think about whether that fish had any problems or not. If it was as disgusting as the worms, they would really throw up.
After eating, Grandpa went to sleep.
He told them they could go to the lake if they wanted to bathe.
Ben and Gwen went to the lake.
Gwen, holding a torch, said,
"Eww… who knows what kind of slimy things are in there? I'm not swimming here."
Ben didn't care and jumped into the lake.
He swam for a while, then thought the Kraken might attack him soon.
Meanwhile, Gwen was getting bored, sitting there and watching Ben have fun.
She thought she might actually jump into the lake too.
Then the Kraken appeared.
Gwen saw it clearly—it was a big monster , two tentacles type of things were on its mouth.
She shouted to alert him,
"Ben!"
But Ben already knew it was going to attack.
As the tentacles were about to strike, he created an energy barrier.
Gwen reacted as well, throwing an energy sphere at the Kraken.
It hit, and the monster let out a cry before retreating back into the lake.
Ben and Gwen quickly went back to the Rustbucket and woke up Grandpa, telling him what they had seen.
This time, since both of them saw it, Grandpa Max didn't think they were pulling a prank.
He asked, "Where is the lake monster now?"
Ben replied, "It already went back into the lake."
Grandpa said, "Don't worry about it for now. Since it's gone, we'll check tomorrow when we go fishing. If it appears again, we'll deal with it."
Then Ben and Gwen went back to sleep.

Next morning…
Grandpa, Ben, and Gwen were going fishing.
When Ben saw the worms, he picked them up and said,
"Here, Gwen—your breakfast…"
"Ughh, Ben, what the hell? Seriously, so gross!" Gwen took a step back.
"Haha, sorry. Anyway, it's not like you have to touch them," Ben laughed.
"Yeah, you're right. I'll just watch you two," Gwen said.
"Well, what's wrong? It's just bait," Grandpa said.
"No thanks, Grandpa."
They saw a man working on a boat—he must be the captain.
"Well, Captain Shaw?"
"Who are you?"
"Well, I'm Max Tennyson. These are my grandchildren, Ben and Gwen.
We rented your boat for today's fishing trip."
"Well, what are you waiting for—a grand invitation? Get on board, I don't have all day!"
"It seems like this guy is not right in the head, just like Dr. Animo," Gwen whispered to Ben.
"Haha…"
"Anything interesting to catch today?" Max asked Shaw.
"More than you can imagine." He replied, with his cold face .
"Hm… we have to be careful of the lake monster. Who knows when it might show up," Gwen said.
Grandpa just laughed it off.
"Now, now, it's a fishing trip, not a monster hunt."
"It's called the 'Krakken'. " Shaw said.
"Wow, you know about it?"
"Yeah, it's my business. I know all about it," he said, handing Gwen a picture.
"I've been on its trail for years. Folks say my radar's not right…"
"Well, that doesn't surprise me," Grandpa said quietly.
"Sightings go back for years. Some say it's a myth—but not me…"
"I could take us to a spot where I last saw that beast… well, if you have the spirit for a real adventure," Captain Shaw said, finally showing some emotion instead of that gloomy face, as if everyone owed him money.
Ben and Gwen looked at Max.
"Well, I guess so," Max said.
Then they headed in that direction according to Captain Shaw.
Captain Shaw showed them some equipment he planned to use to catch it.
He talked as if he was obsessed.
Gwen and Grandpa Max looked at him strangely, then took a step back.
Gwen moved closer to Ben, who laughed and said,
"Don't worry too much about him. He's been at it for years—it's natural he's obsessed."
After some time, they saw the area was sealed off with "Do Not Enter" signs.
Captain Shaw frowned.
"'Do Not Enter'? What's going on?"
"Looks official. Maybe we should turn back," Max said.
"That's nonsense! It's my lake, and I'll go wherever I—" he was about to continue when suddenly—
"Fishing boat! Stop where you are!"
A boat pulled up next to them, and a man onboard introduced himself as Jonah Melville, founder of Friends of Fish, part of a marine biology group that had closed off the area for environmental study.
"You'll have to turn your boat around."
"You make me, you fish hugger!" Shaw snapped angrily.
"Well, since I rented the boat for a day, I believe I'm in charge. Isn't that right, Captain Shaw?" Max said calmly.
"…Sigh." Shaw gave in reluctantly.

As they turned around …
Captain Shaw suddenly spotted something on his sonar.
"Well… looks like we found the Kraken."
"More like that thing found us," Gwen said.
A massive shadow passed beneath the boat.
"It's heading toward the dock…"
....
Captain Shaw was blowing the horn to warn the people at the dock.
But they didn't understand and stayed there.
The Kraken emerged with a roar, opening its mouth and attacking the pier where the people were.
It destroyed the structure, and they fell into the lake, crying for help.
"Told you, didn't I? The Kraken lives," Captain Shaw said, watching through his binoculars.
"Alright, we heard you," Grandpa said, then told Ben to rescue those people.
Ben nodded and heard a ding in his mind.
[New Mission –
•Rescue the people
•Beat up the smugglers and save the Kraken's eggs]
[Reward – New alien unlock, Random Money pack (100 $ - 1 Million $ ) ]
Ben looked at Gwen, who had also received a mission to help people alongside him.
They nodded at each other.
Ben opened his Omnitrix.
Holograms appeared.
He selected Ripjaws for the job and tapped it.
Transforming into Ripjaws, he jumped into the lake.
He started saving people. Gwen used energy ropes to secure them while Ben dragged them to safety.
Jonah ordered his crew to get his boat moving;
The Kraken clearly wasn't focused on them. As soon as the "Friends of Fish" group started moving away, it roared again and followed them.
