Chapter 7 - First school training session, true talent.

The first and second classes have ended, and the remaining classes will be supervised by the school.

They were training classes.

The person in charge of these classes was the vice principal, J Martin.

He was the one who proposed them in the first place and further developed them.

J Martin is a famous man in the world, not only because of his 89th place ranking but also because of his personality, he was a strict and extremely meticulous person, making sure the students adapted to all situations and performed at their highest level.

After the short break, Deebt headed to the gym, where they were told to gather on the first floor.

Deebt felt a bit out of place, this was his first school training class.

He had never participated and hadn't bothered to find out what went on during training, so he watched with a bit of trepidation.

Deebt entered with everyone else and stood in the back, he didn't want to be in the spotlight.

Standing next to Deebt was a boy with thick black hair and deep green eyes, he was about the same height as Deebt, Sam Lucas.

Sam stared intently at Deebt.

Deebt didn't care at all, he didn't even try to talk to him.

'This guy really doesn't change, I haven't seen him interact with anyone other than Milly before.' Sam thought as he kept staring.

"Deebt Jacks, can I ask you something?" Sam's tone was respectful and polite.

"What?" Deebt replied, looking at Sam calmly.

Sam didn't seem arrogant or haughty, Deebt knew his talent from the previous time when he had announced his own talent as well.

Perhaps one could say Sam was modest, his talent was indeed high, especially given the scarcity of talent.

But even within the class, there were three talents higher than him, including Deebt.

Before Sam asked him, he seemed to get lost in his thoughts for a moment.

'His talent is amazing, challenging him would be fun?' Sam thought about the enjoyment he would get if he challenged Deebt, and how much he would improve.

Deebt is very talented, so what?

This didn't change anything for Sam, Sam's talent was Sam's talent, and others' talents were others' talents.

That's how Sam thought, he didn't see himself as superior to those less talented than him, nor did he see himself as superior just because he put in a little more effort.

"What do you say we train together? Wouldn't it be fun to have a rival?" Sam asked confidently.

"Sorry, but I train with my brother." Deebt said firmly.

'Fine, then…' Sam thought, then smiled slightly.

"All right, I'll ask Jazz right away if I can train with you." Sam said, then turned his attention forward.

Deebt gave him one last look before focusing on what was about to be said.

'If Jazz is the one who gets to choose, that's fine. Jazz will analyze Sam better than I can, though I feel like it would be good for us to practice together.'

"Hello everyone, Class X students. Today, your training will consist of heading to the gravity chamber and working out with the weights placed there, followed by the running track, and then the pool."

"You might be wondering about the benefit of this training. Aren't you doing it? Unfortunately, no. From what I've noticed while reviewing the cameras, even when you go after class, you only do one or two exercises, or your focus is elsewhere."

"This training isn't like your usual, repetitive drills, it's designed to break the routine you've grown accustomed to. Your willpower will break, and your bodies will break. Once we finish this test, I'll tell you all why and for what purpose."

A man with a muscular build spoke up, he was slightly balding with a thick beard. Everyone recognized him, it was J Martin, number 89, nicknamed "The unsubmissive."

There were no loudspeakers, but everyone heard him.

The students were being led by him.

Everyone was about to head to the locker room to change.

"Where do you think you're going?" J Martin spoke in his deep voice again, but this time everyone could feel the pressure.

Some students replied that they were going to change, but instead of letting them go, he stopped them all.

Deebt and Sam were at the back, they hadn't moved yet.

"You won't be changing clothes for this training. If you want to take them off to move more easily or to keep your clothes clean, go ahead, but there will be no changing." His voice was stern and his gaze sharp.

No one could reply, some of the girls were even trembling at the sound of his voice.

Deebt looked at J Martin calmly, he had understood his intention from the start.

To the gravity chamber.

Under J Martin's gaze, everyone headed there. The gravity chamber wasn't just a single room, but rather a single large hall. The technology used here was extremely advanced, the walls had been removed to make the space appear larger.

Perhaps it was simply because J Martin wanted to keep a close eye on everyone.

The training equipment in front of them was separate and meticulously arranged. As soon as they entered, J Martin began directing and training them.

"You go over there…"

"What is your strength and endurance?"

"Do you have weakness in your hands?"

It might have seemed to everyone that J Martin was strict, but he was actually meticulous even in his dealings with them, directing each person to the right spot for them.

It was Sam's turn, J Martin directed him to train his lower body.

Then it was Deebt's turn.

J Martin recognized him, after all, this was the only boy who hadn't attended his classes, and he was also the boy the principal had mentioned.

"Deebt Jacks, is it? You struggle to reach your limits, good. I'll make you push yourself to reach those limits as long as I'm here." J Martin spoke with great confidence.

Perhaps not everyone approved of his methods because they lacked kindness or consideration, but his greatest consideration was preparing them for the world, this was J Martin's way of protecting all his students.

Deebt didn't speak, he just listened.

'The principal told him about me, so he'll undoubtedly be a great help.' Deebt thought.

"Alright, you'll do a full body workout for the next hour, and in the last half hour, you'll just do plank."

J Martin instructed Deebt and demonstrated the exercises he would perform and the number of reps, it was an intense workout by any measure, lasting a full hour.

The gravity chamber workout would take an hour and a half.

Deebt started working out, five minutes, ten minutes,.. Time passed. J Martin would come check on him every so often, correcting him if he was doing the exercises wrong.

J Martin was guiding everyone, fairly and impartially.

The hour ended and the half hour of plank began.

Deebt's muscles were tired and his body was exhausted, yet the thought that everything he had done hadn't brought him to his full potential never left his mind.

Deebt continued to push himself with this thought.

J Martin stood at a distance, observing the students from afar. After guiding them and correcting their mistakes, he watched them calmly. He could see everyone clearly, their movements, their voices, their breathing…

[Primary Ability: Comprehensive vision.]

The training in the gravity chamber ended, and what followed was the running track. The students never got a break, under J Martin's pressure, everyone ran. The environment changed every fifteen minutes, increasing in difficulty, this track had been specially prepared for today.

Running through sand, ice, and rocks, among the trees, and dips and hills.

This was difficult for everyone, some students fell and were taken out. They were at their limits or perhaps had exceeded them long ago.

An hour and twelve minutes had passed since they started running, Deebt felt death chasing him, every step was heavy.

Sam ran behind, he really looked like a corpse, but for some reason there was a spark in his eyes.

The run was over, and they were now standing in front of the pool.

Deebt looked at his body and his sweat soaked clothes.

"Haaaaaa." Deebt took a deep breath.

He jumped into the water, as if into endless space. Deebt felt at ease since he'd started training, it wasn't actual rest, but simply not having to run, lift weights, or do plank felt incredibly good.

Deebt began moving underwater, his wet clothes were hindering his progress, so he removed his top.

He felt a little lighter, and it was better.

They were forbidden to breathe while in the pool, there were sensors there that would detect if anyone breathed and immediately eject them.

The swimming drill stipulated that if you crossed the entire pool, the drill was over.

Deebt continued to push himself forward, one meter, two meters, three meters….

Deebt reached the end of the pool and got out, J Martin directed him to stand in another area away from the group.

There was a girl with delicate features standing where J Martin had pointed.

The training was over, and Deebt, the girl, and Sam stood there until J Martin asked them to come to him.

"You are the only ones who successfully completed the training. Even though you look like corpses, that's no problem. Once you recover naturally, you'll see the results. You are prohibited from entering the fourth floor."

"Everyone, the reasons for this training and why I conducted it will be sent to you at 9:00 p.m. based on each of you. You may all leave now."

On his way out of the hall, Deebt found Jazz waiting for him.

His classes had ended, and it wasn't yet their class's turn to train with J Martin.

"Bro, I think you look tired, so we won't train today, but do you want to come with me to visit Milly?" Jazz asked Deebt.

"No, I won't go." Deebt was clear about his decision.

"Brother, talk to Milly later when she's resting. You really need to talk to her… Trust me." Jazz said this cryptically, then went on his way.

They were both heading the same way, but Deebt would be delayed due to his exhausted body, while Jazz was going to Milly's house to visit her.

Jazz went on his way, lost in thought, the situation with Deebt and Milly was slightly troubling to him.

Millie loved Deebt, Jazz had known that for a long time, but she hadn't told Deebt.

'Milly Hamilton, you're important too.' Jazz thought.

Jazz arrived at Milly's house. It was quiet, the house had a traditional facade with two stories.

Jazz rang the doorbell, and soon a familiar voice spoke to him.

"Jazz, is that you? Welcome, son. Did you come to visit Milly?" Milly's mother spoke through the intercom.

Milly's mother opened the door.

"Jazz, where's Deebt?" Her mother's tone was puzzled.

"He's tired today, so he went home. He'll come later."

"Oh, I see. All right, then." Milly's mother's voice was very kind.

"You'll find her in her room, Jazz. I'll bring you some snacks." Milly's mom headed to the kitchen, and Jazz went upstairs.

Knock, knock.

Jazz knocked lightly on the door, and then Milly opened it.

She didn't look sick, but she did look tired.

'She must have been thinking about it a lot.' Jazz thought.

"Hi, Jazz."

"Hi, Milly. I came to check on you, and also… to talk about something important."

"Huh? Come in first."

"Okay." Jazz entered Milly's room, sat down at her desk, and spoke.

"Milly, I know you have an ability."
