Chapter 6 - The Snail’s Return

The garden became calm again after the heavy rain. The sun was bright, and everything looked fresh and green.

The small snail now lived in a cozy corner of the garden under a big leaf. Peggy and her friends had given it a safe place to stay.

"Are you feeling better?" Peggy asked one morning.

"Yes," the snail said with a smile. "Because of you."

Kichy hopped nearby and laughed. "You are very slow, but very lucky too."

The snail smiled gently. "Maybe… but I never forget kindness."

Days passed peacefully.

One afternoon, Peggy was walking near the carrot patch. The ground still felt soft after the rain.

She stopped and looked down. The soil looked strange. It was slowly sinking.

"That's odd," Peggy said softly.

She stepped a little closer, but something didn't feel right.

At the same time, the snail was moving nearby. It touched the ground and suddenly stopped.

"This is not normal…" the snail whispered.

It carefully looked around and understood what was happening.

"The ground is hollow," the snail said to itself. "This is dangerous."

The snail quickly turned and moved toward Peggy as fast as it could.

"Stop! Don't go there!" the snail called out.

Peggy turned. "What happened?"

"The ground will break," the snail said. "It's not safe."

Just then, one of the Cabbage Girls started walking toward the same spot.

"Wait!" Peggy shouted.

Kichy jumped quickly and pulled her back.

At that moment, the ground cracked and a part of it collapsed.

Everyone froze in shock.

"That was close…" Carrot said.

Peggy looked at the snail with a warm smile.

"You saved us."

The snail smiled back. "You saved me first."

Grandma walked slowly toward them and nodded.

"Kindness always comes back," she said.

Peggy and her friends carefully marked the dangerous area so no one would step there again.

That evening, they all sat together quietly.

Kichy smiled and said, "Even slow friends can be heroes."

Everyone laughed.

Peggy looked around at her friends and felt happy.

Their world was not just safe…

It was full of care, help, and kindness.

And that made it truly special.
