The rain grew heavier over Blackwood as Ryan and Elena stood in the narrow alley.
Both of them stared at the place where the shadow had just disappeared.
Ryan's voice was low.
"You saw that… right?"
Elena nodded slowly.
"So I'm not the only one being watched."
Ryan didn't reply.
Because he already knew—
This wasn't random anymore.
They were both involved now.
"Come with me," Ryan said suddenly.
Elena looked surprised. "Where?"
"If you want answers… this is your only chance."
After a moment of hesitation, she followed him.
Late that night, they reached an old building on the edge of Blackwood.
It looked abandoned from the outside.
Broken windows.
Faded walls.
Complete silence.
"This place…" Elena whispered.
"What is it?"
Ryan walked toward the door.
"My father's old office."
Inside, the air was cold and still.
Dust covered everything, as if no one had entered for years.
Ryan moved straight toward a locked cabinet.
Without hesitation, he broke the lock.
Inside were dozens of files and documents.
Elena stepped closer as he opened one of them.
Her eyes widened.
"These are… reports?"
Ryan nodded.
"Missing people. Investigations. Everything the police never made public."
Elena flipped through the pages.
Photos.
Dates.
Locations.
All connected by the same symbol.
But then she stopped.
Her hand froze on one page.
"Ryan…"
He looked at her.
She slowly turned the file toward him.
At the top of the page was a name.
Daniel Carter.
But below it…
A new status was written.
"Subject transferred."
Ryan's eyes darkened.
"Transferred?" Elena whispered. "That doesn't make any sense."
Before Ryan could answer—
A loud noise came from behind them.
Both of them turned sharply.
The door had just closed on its own.
The room fell into complete silence.
Then—
A faint sound.
Like someone moving… just outside the room.
Ryan quickly stepped in front of Elena, his eyes fixed on the door.
"They found us," he said quietly.
The handle slowly began to move.
And for the first time—
Ryan wasn't just being watched.
He was being hunted. 🌑📖
