After hearing the system's notification, Jin felt somewhat dissatisfied with the reward this time.
To be honest, mastery of firearms and marksmanship was not something he really needed. As a roaming gunner, he already possessed exceptional pistol skills and shooting proficiency.
Additional mastery was practically useless to him.
But in the very next second, another system message appeared—one that nearly shattered his composure.
[Sign-in with the Third-Generation Ventriloquist successful. Reward: Never-Ending Tissue Box.]
Jin almost exploded.
Although the Third-Generation Ventriloquist wasn't the most famous version, he was still a supervillain with special abilities.
And the reward for that… was a tissue box?
Since Jin had never even met the Third-Generation Ventriloquist, there was only one possible explanation.
Black Lily.
"Sigh… forget it."
Jin shook his head helplessly.
"I won't argue with the system this time."
Just as he was about to leave, his eyes caught sight of a beautiful figure sitting casually on the guardrail nearby.
She wore a very recognizable black bodysuit.
The famous phantom thief of Gotham.
Catwoman — Selina Kyle.
"Nice marksmanship."
"You actually managed to defeat Deadshot."
"It seems a peerless master has suddenly appeared in Gotham."
Selina had watched the entire battle from beginning to end.
Originally, she had intended to step in and help, hoping to make this interesting man owe her a favor.
But she hadn't expected him to completely suppress Deadshot the whole time.
Not only did she fail to gain a favor—
Her curiosity about him only grew stronger.
She wanted to understand this mysterious man even more.
Jin smiled faintly.
"Madam, you've been watching the entire fight without helping."
"That makes me a little sad."
Then he added playfully,
"And besides… you still owe me something very precious."
"When do you plan to give it to me?"
Selina blinked in slight surprise.
So he had already recognized her identity.
She stepped down from the guardrail and slowly walked toward Jin.
A faint and pleasant fragrance filled the air around her.
"How did you recognize me?" she asked softly, leaning close to his face.
Jin smiled calmly.
"If I told you that your beautiful figure has already been engraved in my heart…"
"And occupies a special place there…"
"Would you believe me?"
Selina let out a charming laugh.
She gently placed her slender hand on Jin's cheek and spoke in a deliberately affectionate tone.
"What if your words really moved my heart?"
Jin lightly held the hand resting against his face.
His voice remained calm.
"Then I suppose… I'd have to take responsibility."
The silent duel between the two masters of flirting ended with Selina's heartbeat quickening slightly.
She suddenly found the situation extremely amusing.
In terms of verbal games, she had never been so thoroughly defeated.
In the next moment, she stood on her toes.
Her bright red lips pressed against Jin's.
After a brief kiss, their lips parted.
Selina stepped closer, her body pressing lightly against his.
Jin felt the softness against his chest.
Then she whispered in his ear:
"This isn't the most precious thing."
"It's only a deposit."
Jin was momentarily stunned.
Before he could respond, Selina had already jumped over the guardrail and disappeared into the night.
Jin shook his head slightly.
"That woman…"
"She runs away right after teasing people."
"Hmm?"
Just as he was recalling the moment, Jin suddenly frowned.
A strange feeling appeared in his chest.
He looked toward the distance.
With his sharp eyesight, he could see a small mushroom-shaped cloud rising from the docks far away.
An explosion.
Something was happening there.
Jin soon returned to where Barbara was waiting.
Barbara had clearly been searching for him. When she saw him return safely, she immediately sighed in relief.
"Jin, are you alright?"
"It seems like there were multiple attacks tonight."
"I'm fine," Jin replied.
"Where's Black Lily?"
He hadn't seen Black Lily with Barbara, so he asked curiously.
Barbara hesitated for a moment.
From her perspective, Jin didn't seem to know Black Lily's true identity.
And Black Lily's identity appeared to be just as secretive as her own.
So Barbara decided to help keep the secret.
"She had something to take care of, so she left."
Then she suddenly paused.
"Wait… her name is actually Black Lily?"
To ordinary people, that name sounded rather unusual.
But apparently Black Lily had abandoned her previous identity and chosen that name for herself.
"Beep… beep…"
Suddenly, the Bat-family communication device in Barbara's pocket began to sound.
She took it out and saw that it was a public broadcast from Batman.
That meant every member of the Bat-family could hear the message.
Barbara didn't avoid Jin.
She simply answered.
"This is Barbara. What's going on?"
But in the next second—
Her pupils shrank.
The news she heard clearly shocked her.
She slowly lowered the communicator.
Then she told Jin the news.
Jason was dead.
Jin fell silent for a moment.
Then he sighed softly.
Jason Todd.
The second Robin.
Jin had watched him grow from a homeless orphan into the second young master of the Wayne family.
From a kid who stole tires off cars…
Into Batman's partner.
Jason was one of the few friends Jin had in Gotham.
"Let's go."
"Let's attend his funeral."
Later, Jin and Barbara arrived at Wayne Manor.
By that time, all members of the Bat-family had already gathered.
Nightwing — Dick Grayson.
Alfred Pennyworth.
Lucius Fox, the man responsible for managing Wayne Enterprises' technological resources, including the Batmobile.
When Dick saw them arrive, he stepped forward to greet them.
"Barbara… it's been a long time."
Dick Grayson had once been the first Robin.
After growing tired of Batman's strict control, he chose to become independent and took on the identity of Nightwing.
He now fought crime in Blüdhaven, which meant he rarely returned to Gotham.
"I'm sorry I wasn't here."
"If I had been… maybe this tragedy could have been prevented."
Dick had watched Jason grow as well.
In many ways, Jason had been like a younger brother to him.
So the guilt and sadness were unavoidable.
Jin glanced at Dick, who was blaming himself for no reason.
Then he looked at Bruce, who was also silently blaming himself.
He couldn't help but sigh.
"You two really are alike."
"What do you mean?"
Jin didn't answer Dick's question.
Instead, he walked toward Jason's grave.
Of course, there was sadness in his heart.
After all, this was a real death.
But Jin also knew the future.
Jason would be resurrected.
Even before the burial, Jason's body would be taken by Ra's al Ghul, the leader of the League of Assassins—Bruce's father-in-law.
Using the Lazarus Pit, Ra's would resurrect Jason.
And eventually…
Jason Todd would return to Gotham as the anti-hero known as:
Red Hood.
