Jay's POV
The morning sunlight spilled across my room way too cheerfully for someone who'd barely slept. Every time I closed my eyes, I kept replaying last night — the moonlight, the whisper, and him. Great. My brain had officially become a Keifer highlight reel.
I was halfway through brushing my hair when a knock sounded on the door. Before I could answer, it opened slowly.
Keifer leaned against the frame, hair mussed from sleep, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Morning, neighbor."
I blinked. "You ever heard of knocking and waiting?"
He chuckled. "Can't help it. You look too serious in the morning; thought I'd fix that."
"By breaking into my room?" I asked, crossing my arms.
He lifted his hands in mock surrender, his grin lazy. "Call it… a check‑in."
"More like a bad idea," I muttered, walking past him to grab my bag. But as I did, he leaned a little closer, lowering his voice just enough.
"You think too much, Jay," he teased lightly. "Relax."
His tone had that same spark from last night — soft but charged. My pulse decided to misbehave right then and there. I opened my mouth to reply, but before I could, Potato barked from the hall like the universe itself was intervening.
"Your dog has better timing than you," I said, shaking my head as I slipped out.
He laughed under his breath. "You say that now, but you'll miss me later."
"Gago," I muttered, brushing past him on my way to the stairs.
His soft laugh followed me all the way down.
By the time I reached school, somehow the triplets already knew something was up.
Jane nudged me the second we sat down. "You've got that smile, Jay."
"I literally just woke up," I said quickly.
"Uh‑huh," Jare drawled. "Sure." He added " and what is that scarf "
Before I could defend myself, Section E turned into a comedy club.
"Yo, Jay!" Felix called from across the room. "You're glowing. Is it the weather or what?"
"Yeah," David chimed in, grinning. "It's definitely not school stress."
Yuri slung an arm around Jane and smirked. "She probably just had a nice evening walk,right?"
"Careful, Yuri," Jane warned, though she was smiling too.
C‑in joined in next, leaning back in his chair. "Jay, tell us honestly — did the Watson garden cast a spell or something?"
The whole group cracked up; Drew and Josh were nearly falling off their desks. Even Blaster and Rory started making dramatic wolf‑howls until Kit threw a pen at them.
"Did you all have sugar for breakfast?!" I groaned, hiding my face in my hands.
Mayo leaned forward with a grin. "Nah, we're just thrilled someone finally managed to get under Jay's skin."
I lifted my head. "Excuse me?"
Edrix laughed. "He means Keifer. He's been quieter than usual. Suspiciously quiet."
At that, everyone turned toward Keifer, who was sitting at his desk like the very definition of calm chaos — chin propped on one hand, faint smirk, not denying anything.
"Keifer, man," Calix called, "care to enlighten us?"
He looked up slowly, eyes flicking toward me before replying in that infuriatingly steady voice. "Not my story to tell."
" I hate you all " I yelled
Cue instant chaos. Everyone erupted — cheers, teasing whistles, even Eren drumming the desk with his pencil like it was a victory chant.
I groaned again, sinking in my seat, cheeks burning. "You are the worst," I muttered toward him.
Keifer only smiled faintly, his eyes dancing with mischief. "And you still haven't denied it."
That shut me up faster than the bell ever could.
