Jay's POV
The classroom of Section E looked like a disaster zone.
Books everywhere.
Half the class panicking.
"WE ARE FINISHED!" Felix shouted, dramatically falling on his desk.
"You say that every exam season," Calix replied.
"Because every exam season I almost fail!"
The class laughed.
"Relax," Josh said. "It can't be that bad."
Everyone turned to him.
"You studied?" Drew asked suspiciously.
Josh shrugged.
"For… ten minutes."
"USELESS!" Felix shouted.
Beside me, Cin leaned close.
"Bestie… you look stressed."
"I'm fine."
But I wasn't.
Medical university.
Grades.
Entrance requirements.
If I didn't get the marks I needed… my dream could disappear.
Without realizing it, I zoned out.
"Jay."
I blinked.
Keifer Watson was staring at me.
"You zoned out again."
"I didn't."
"You did."
Cin nodded.
"She did."
Felix pointed.
"See? Even Keifer knows."
Jay's Thoughts
I can't study properly if I stay with Keifer.
If I skip sleep, he'll notice.
If I push myself too much, he'll stop me.
And he'll worry.
He already has his own exams.
I can't tell him the real reason.
Keifer's POV
Something felt wrong.
Jay looked distracted the entire day.
After class I grabbed her hand.
"Come with me."
We walked outside the classroom.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"You tell me."
She hesitated.
"Keifer… I think I should stay at Angelo's house until exams end."
I frowned.
"Why?"
"I miss my family," she said quietly. "And Angelo called me yesterday."
"For a week?"
"Yes."
"I'll come too."
Her eyes widened.
"No."
"Why?"
"You need to focus on your exams."
"I can study there."
She stepped closer.
"Please… it's just one week."
I studied her face carefully.
Something felt off.
But I trusted her.
"Fine," I sighed.
She smiled softly.
"Thank you."
"But call me every day."
"I will."
