Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 — The Drive Home

Jay's POV

The base slowly became quiet after the fight.

My gang members were still talking excitedly behind me.

"Did you see Keizer's face when Jay defeated him?" Angel laughed.

Stella crossed her arms proudly. "Of course she did. She's our leader."

Marco nodded. "Things are finally going to change now."

I smiled faintly but my thoughts were somewhere else.

Outside.

With Keifer.

I stepped out of the warehouse and immediately saw him standing there beside his car. The streetlights illuminated his tall figure and serious expression.

He looked calm.

But I knew him well enough to know he was thinking a thousand things.

The moment he saw me walking toward him, he spoke.

"Jay."

I stopped a few steps away from him.

Silence hung between us for a moment.

Then he said quietly,

"We need to talk."

I nodded.

"I know."

He gestured toward his car.

"Wait near my car."

But I shook my head.

"I'll come by my own car."

He blinked.

"…Your car?"

"Yes."

For a second he just stared at me.

"You don't have a car."

I raised an eyebrow.

"I do."

"You always come with me."

"That doesn't mean I don't have one."

He frowned suspiciously.

"Where is it?"

I pointed across the parking area.

"Over there."

He followed my gaze.

And then he froze.

Because parked under the streetlight was a limited-edition sports car, sleek and expensive.

The same model…

he owned.

Keifer slowly looked back at me.

"…Jay."

"Yes?"

"That's your car?"

"Yes."

His eyebrows lifted.

"You never told me you had a car."

I shrugged.

"You never asked."

He ran a hand through his hair, clearly shocked.

"Unbelievable."

Then he said firmly,

"I'm coming with you."

I laughed softly.

"Why?"

"Because I'm not letting you drive alone tonight."

"Keifer—"

"Jay."

I sighed.

"Fine."

Keifer's POV

I walked toward the sports car beside her.

I was still trying to process what I had just seen tonight.

Jay.

My sweet, quiet wife.

A gang leader.

And now apparently she owned a limited-edition sports car.

How much don't I know about her?

Jay unlocked the car and the lights flashed.

I stared at it again.

"Seriously… this is yours?"

She nodded casually.

"Yes."

"How long?"

"A while."

"And you never told me?"

She smiled slightly.

"You never asked."

I shook my head in disbelief and got into the passenger seat.

The interior was perfect.

Luxury.

Fast.

Expensive.

Exactly the type of car only collectors owned.

Jay sat in the driver's seat and started the engine.

The sound alone told me everything.

"Jay…"

"Yes?"

"You can drive, right?"

She looked at me like I had said something ridiculous.

"Of course."

Then she drove.

And within seconds I realized something.

She wasn't just driving.

She was driving like a professional racer.

Perfect control.

Perfect turns.

Smooth acceleration.

I stared at her.

"You're kidding me."

She glanced at me briefly.

"What?"

"You drive like this?"

"Yes."

"You never told me you could drive."

She laughed softly.

"I learned years ago."

"How many things are you hiding from me?"

She didn't answer.

The car moved quickly through the quiet roads of the city.

For a while neither of us spoke.

Finally I broke the silence.

"Start talking."

She sighed.

"About what?"

"Everything."

Jay's POV

I knew this moment would come.

The moment when Keifer would ask questions.

And I would have to answer.

But I still wasn't ready to reveal everything.

Not yet.

I took a deep breath.

"You already know about the gang."

"Not really."

"Then I'll explain."

I kept my eyes on the road as I spoke.

"When I came from India to the Philippines, things weren't easy."

He stayed silent, listening carefully.

"My stepfather used to abuse me."

Keifer's hands clenched.

"You never told me that."

"I didn't want to."

His voice softened.

"…Jay."

"I used to fight a lot back then. I was angry all the time."

I paused for a moment.

"One day Marco saw me fighting and took me to his gang."

"The one we saw tonight?"

"Yes."

"And your mentor trained you?"

"Yes."

I continued driving slowly as I spoke.

"He taught me how to fight properly. How to stay calm in dangerous situations."

"And you became the strongest?"

"After him."

Keifer shook his head slightly.

"I still can't believe it."

I smiled faintly.

"He also helped me take revenge on my stepfather."

Keifer looked out the window quietly for a moment.

"I wish I had been there."

"You didn't even know me back then."

"Still."

I continued explaining.

"The gang became my family. Marco, Angel, Stella, Zek, Frost, Ethan, Heaven… they were always there for me."

"And tonight they asked you to become their leader."

"Yes."

He looked at me again.

"And you said yes."

"I had to."

"Why?"

I hesitated.

Then I answered honestly.

"Because of you."

His eyes widened.

"…Me?"

"Yes."

I finally looked at him briefly.

"Years ago my mentor made me promise something."

"What?"

"That I would protect you and your brothers."

He stared at me in disbelief.

"You promised that when you were twelve?"

"Yes."

"Jay…"

He leaned back in his seat slowly.

"This is insane."

Keifer's POV

My mind was still processing everything she had said.

My wife.

The quiet girl who smiled at me every morning.

Had been secretly protecting me for years.

Without me even knowing.

I let out a quiet laugh.

"This is unbelievable."

She glanced at me nervously.

"Are you angry?"

I looked at her.

A part of me was hurt.

She had hidden so much.

But another part of me felt something else.

Pride.

My wife was strong.

Fearless.

Powerful.

I shook my head.

"I'm not angry."

"Really?"

"I'm… shocked."

She sighed in relief.

"I thought you'd be mad."

"I should be."

She looked down.

"But I can't be."

"Why?"

I smiled slightly.

"Because my wife is apparently one of the most dangerous people I know."

She laughed quietly.

"I'm not dangerous."

"You defeated my father tonight."

"Technically yes."

"And you knocked out fifteen people alone."

"Details."

I chuckled.

"Unbelievable."

Jay's POV

The car finally slowed as we reached the road near our house.

But neither of us wanted the conversation to end yet.

Keifer looked at me seriously.

"So now you're the leader of that gang."

"Yes."

"And you're still my wife."

"Yes."

"And you're still going to school tomorrow."

I smiled.

"Yes."

He shook his head.

"My life just became ten times more complicated."

"Sorry."

"Don't apologize."

He looked at me carefully.

"I'm actually impressed."

"Impressed?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because you protected yourself."

He continued softly,

"And because you protected me."

For a moment I didn't know what to say.

Then he smirked.

"Well… looks like we're officially a power couple now."

I laughed.

"Power couple?"

"Yes."

"The leader of Section E… and the leader of another gang."

"That sounds ridiculous."

"It sounds awesome."

Keifer's POV

The car finally stopped outside our house.

But neither of us got out immediately.

I looked at Jay.

"You know something?"

"What?"

"If anyone ever messes with us now… they're completely doomed."

She laughed.

"That's true."

I leaned back in my seat.

"I still can't believe my wife is secretly this powerful."

She smiled teasingly.

"You married the wrong girl."

I shook my head.

"No."

Then I said honestly,

"I married the strongest one."

Jay looked at me quietly.

For the first time tonight, the tension between us disappeared.

Instead there was something new.

Understanding.

Trust.

And maybe even more respect.

Because now I finally knew the truth.

My wife wasn't just the girl I loved.

She was someone extraordinary.

And together…

We were unstoppable.
