Keifer's POV
That evening I took Jay out.
"A date?" she asked.
"Yes."
She laughed softly.
"You're serious?"
"You missed me."
"Maybe."
We walked under the streetlights.
But suddenly she stumbled.
"Jay?"
She grabbed my arm.
"I'm fine…"
Her voice sounded weak.
Then suddenly—
Her body collapsed.
"JAY!"
I caught her before she hit the ground.
"Jay wake up!"
No response.
Panic flooded my chest.
"Stay with me… please…"
I carried her to the car and drove straight to the hospital. The doctor walked out.
"She collapsed due to severe exhaustion."
"What do you mean?"
"She hasn't rested properly."
My chest tightened.
"How bad is it?"
"She pushed her body too far. She needs complete rest for a few days."
Jay's POV
When I woke up…
Keifer was sitting beside the bed.
His eyes looked tired.
"You're awake."
"Hi…"
He didn't smile.
"Explain."
I stayed silent.
"Jay."
"I studied a lot."
"How much?"
I looked down.
"I barely slept."
"For the whole week?"
"Yes."
His jaw tightened.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because you would stop me."
"Of course I would!"
"That's exactly why!"
Silence filled the room.
Then he sighed.
"You scared me."
"I'm sorry."
"You fainted in my arms."
"I'm really sorry."
He hugged me carefully.
"Don't ever do that again."
"I won't."
Recovery
The next few days Keifer refused to leave my side.
"Drink this," he said, holding soup.
"I'm not a child."
"You fainted. That cancels your argument."
Cin visited and gasped.
"BESTIE YOU SCARED US!"
Felix peeked through the door.
"Is she alive?"
"Felix get out," Keifer said.
Josh laughed.
"Section E was worried."
Jay smiled softly.
"Tell them I'm okay."
Keifer brushed her hair gently.
"You're resting. No studying."
"Yes doctor."
He smirked.
"Very funny."
But inside…
He was just relieved she was safe.
