– General POV —
No one in the class could believe their eyes.
The fact that there was a Supe with powers of Homelander, who seemingly is comparable to the man in question was unheard of.
'How is it possible the entire world is not talking about him?!' Cate wondered as she stared at Adem's leaving figure.
The reason Adem stayed unanimous for so long was due to the fact that his powers had only recently kicked in, and that unlike the majority of Supes, he did not try to build his brand ever since he could remember.
"You think he is Homelander's illegitimate son?" Steve- the tall, black Supe with regenerative powers asked out loud.
"Don't be a dumbass, you think Homelander would stick his dick in a middle eastern whore?" Rufus asked and everyone in there stiffened.
"Dude, he has Super Hearing, if it is anything like Homelander's he can hear everything within the school," One of Rufus' 'friends' mumbled to him and his face turned whiter than snow.
"I- I mean- um- I am sure Homelander wouldn't lay with a woman out of wedlock!" Rufus practically shouted.
"Alright, enough of this!" Professor Brinks said, drawing everyone's attention.
"Riordan, you are up. And since Mr. Calvert is so lively, why don't you two face off?" Brinks announced and after that, Luke gave Rufus a well deserved trashing.
Then the rest of the fights took place, the only one that seemed to shock others was Cate's fight vs Steve. She effortlessly took him down with a simple touch. That caused a great unrest amongst the rest of the students, but to Brink, this was just one of the potential avenues to keep 'Homelander Jr.' in line if he turned out like the Senior.
— Medical Bay —
"Hi, um, is this the Medbay?" The flying form of a teen asked as he was carrying a blanket in his arms,
"Yes, how may I help you?" The school nurse asked
"We were in Professor Brink's class, and during a spar, I went a little too far," He said as he hold up the blanket,
"We?" She asked before her eyes widened ever so slightly, "Ah, Mr. Maverick. Of course." She said before gesturing Adem to bring him to an unoccupied bed,
"Thank you for your help," the nurse said
"No thanks necessary, and um, can you give me a ring when he wakes up, I would like to apologize when he wakes up," Adem said as he handed the nurse his number,
"I'm sorry, but I can't do that. But I'll let Mr. Maverick know." She said with a small smile, and he left the same way he came. As soon as he was gone, she scowled and mumbled to herself, "Wasn't Maverick Translucent's brat? What kind of a Supe can beat the crap out of him?"
— That Night, General POV —
"So Brink. What can you tell us about the new batch?" Dean Shetty asked the man who has been studying Supes for the longest time.
"They are an exciting bunch, the Riordan kid alone would have been my best find since Maeve, if not potentially better." He said as his eyes wandered towards one of the files, "But this kid… this kid is unbelievable. I thought he would fall short in terms of physical capacity, but he might just be able to contest against the real deal!" He said as he showed the school board the file of Adem Aslan.
They had all heard about a Supe coming to God U., one who seemingly possesses all the powers of Homelander. They initially thought he might fall short in terms of physicals, but the tests done today suggest he might be able to match- if not surpass Homelander.
"What about the other students?" Sean Anderson- formerly known as Polaris- asked.
"If you mean your son, he performed adequately," Brink said in a dismissive tone, "This batch, however, is extremely talented. If it wasn't for Adem and Riordan, he would still have been the second most exciting recruit of this year," He said, causing everyone to raise an eyebrow.
They were all aware of Adem Aslan, and Luke Riordan, but who else was there that warranted praise.
"Dunlap, certainly a remarkable find," He said as he looked towards the Dean, who gave a nod, the remaining members of the board took out her file, and the first thing they saw was a pretty blonde, which was always a bonus for hero's popularity, but what truly made her stand out was her power.
"Why were we not informed about this?" Sean asked.
"Because it was a last minute addition. I convinced her, and her parents for Cate to attend Godolkin." Dean Shetty said and everyone nodded at that.
"Will Mr. Maverick be fine?" One of the other members of the board asked, she was a former teammate of Translucent before he joined the Seven. They still kept in touch.
"He'll be fine, Adem just gave him a little love tap," Brink said with a small laugh in his voice.
"That is good to hear. Mr. Maverick is projected to receive large attention due to the fact he is his father's son." She said and everyone gave a nod at that.
"Were there any other noteworthy recruits?" Dean Shetty asked.
"Li might end up being something big if they accept the transformation, but until then, he will be lucky to be a B-List." Brink said, causing everyone to nod. Inclusion is a big thing for Vought right now, so a hero who can change sex might boost numbers in the right situation, but if they can't perform up to the task, they will be a huge liability.
"So Brink, would you recommend any of these kids to be placed into the Top 10?" Dean Shetty asked after a moment.
Brink took a moment to think about it.
"No." He said, causing everyone in the room, including Dean Shetty to raise an eyebrow.
"In the past, I have mentored Queen Maeve, I had recommended her to be placed into Top 5 automatically, and she came out of every challenge we set up for her, and grew for the better. However, for A-Train it stroke his ego, and today, at the age of 32, his supposed physical prime, he is already being overtaken by a kid straight out of God U." Brink talked about his two most famous graduates,
"The kids have great potential, more so than any class I had, but if we give them the top spot straight out of the gates, it will give some of them huge egos, and I am sure we can all agree when I say the world doesn't need Top heroes with large egos. We already have enough of them."
