Chapter 20 - The Stranger From Last Night

The sharp sound of a ringing phone echoed again and again through the silent room.

Nayza groaned softly, pulling the blanket over her head.

"Umm... who is it? Let me sleep..." she mumbled in a sleepy voice.

While lazily answering the call without even open her eyes properly

A familiar deep voice came from the other side instantly.

"Get ready quickly. I'm coming to pick you up."

Nayza frowned in confusion, still half-asleep.

"Huh? What? Why? And... who are you?" she asked, her words slow and drowsy.

A soft chuckle escaped from the caller.

"You really are impossible. Open your eyes and look at the screen."

Nayza slowly forced her eyes open.

Everything looked blurry for a second. She blinked twice before finally focusing on the screen.

Doruk.

Her sleepy expression immediately changed.

"Oh... Doruk? why did you call so early?" she asked while sitting up slightly.

"Early?" Doruk laughed softly. "It's almost one in the afternoon, and you're still sleeping. I'm already on the way. Be ready before I get there."

Nayza's eyes widened.

"So suddenly? Why? What happened? And why do I need to get ready?"

Doruk smiled to himself hearing her innocent confusion.

"You really are like a little child sometimes," he said everyone is meeting at the restaurant today. Leera called and texted you so many times check your phone."

Nayza quickly opened her messages and immediately sat upright after seeing dozens of missed calls and texts.

"Oh no... she really did call me," she muttered." I think I was sleeping too deeply. Maybe because of last night's party."

"Exactly," Doruk replied." Now hurry up."

"Okay, okay. Come. I'll get ready by then."

"Good," Doruk said softly."I'll be there soon."

The call ended.

Nayza quickly got out bed and rushed toward bathroom. Warm water ran over her skin as the tried to wake herself completely.

Her mind still felt heavy from the previous night, but the cold realization that everyone was already waiting for her made her hurry even more.

A few minutes later, she stepped out after showering, wearing a soft white bathrobe loosely tied around her waist. Her wet hair rested over her shoulders, tiny drop of water still falling from the ends.

At the exact moment, the doorbell rang.

Nayza instantly understood who it was.

She walked toward the door and opened it without any hesitation.

Because she feels save around him.

"Hey, Doruk. Come," she said.

Doruk stepped inside, but the moment his eyes landed on her, his movements slowed for a second.

Her wet hair... the fresh scent after showering... the long oversized white robe wrapped around her body...

For a brief moment, he forgot what he wanted to say.

Then he looked away slightly and cleared his throat.

"Sorry for disturbing you," he said while walking inside. "But It was already getting late."

Nayza smiled lightly.

"No, i understand. My car has been repaired now. I'll go pick it up tomorrow, so you won't have to trouble yourself anymore from now on."

Doruk wasn't very happy after hearing that, but he still forced a small smile onto his face.

Doruk nodded and sat down on the couch while Nayza disappeared into her room.

Silence filled the apartment.

Doruk leaned back slightly, his gaze unconsciously drifting toward her half-open bedroom.

"She lookes beautiful even like this..." he thought to himself.

"With wet hair... she doesn't even realize it."

A small smile appeared on his lips before he quickly looked away again.

Ten minutes later, Nayza finally walked out fully dressed. Her hair was still slightly damp, and she looked much more awake now.

"Done," she said.

Doruk stood up immediately.

"Let's go."

The two left together—

The restaurant was already crowded when they arrived. Warm lights glowed softly across the elegant interior while quiet music played in the background.

At one corner table, Leera and Yesir were sitting with another boy.

Nayza instantly noticed Leera and Yesir, but she couldn't properly see the third person because he was sitting with his back facing them.

Doruk and Nayza walked toward the table.

As they got closer, the boy finally turned slightly.

The moment Nayza saw his face, her steps slowed.

Wait...

I've seen him somewhere before.

She frowned slightly while trying to remember.

Leera noticed her immediately.

"You finally woke up," she teased. "You weren't answering calls."

Yesir stood up and sat beside savash.

Nayza sat down beside her awkwardly.

"Sorry... I think I was really tired after last night's party, even though I don't drink."

Leera smiled.

"It's okay. Sit."

Beside Doruk's seat was empty.

"So, how are you?" Yesir asked kindly.

"I'm totally fine now." Nayza replied softly.

But even while answering, her attention kept drifting toward the unfamiliar boy sitting across from her.

She was sure she had seen him before.

Doruk noticed the. Confusion on her face almost instantly.

"You're probably wondering who is he," he said.

Nayza nodded slightly.

"Yeah... I feel like I've seen him before, but I'm not sure."

The person suddenly smiled.

"We met just yesterday, and you already forgot me?"

Everyone at the table looked confused.

Doruk frowned slightly.

"You two already met before?"

Even Leera and Yesir exchanged surprise looks.

The boy leaned back casually.

"Yeah. At the party yesterday. I tried talking to her."

Nayza blinked once before suddenly remembering.

"Oh... wait. You were the one who asked my name yesterday."

He smiled wider.

"Exactly. But you ignored me completely."

There was amusement in his tone, but something about the way he looked at her made Nayza uncomfortable.

She forced a polite smile.

"We'll... I don't know you, so I didn't think talking was necessary."

The boy laughed softly.

"Fair enough." Then he extended his hand slightly toward her. "Myself Savash. And you're Nayza, right?"

Nayza hesitated For a brief second before nodding.

"Yes. Nayza."

She felt strangely awkward under his gaze.

Before the silence could grow longer, Yesir spoke.

"Alright then. Nayza, meet Savash properly. He's our old friend. He came back here after three years."

Then he looked toward Savash.

"And Savash, this is Nayza. She's still kind of new to this city. It's only been two years since she moved here."

Nayza smiled.

"In these two years, I didn't even realize when we homies."

Savash nodded slowly, his eyes still fixed on her.

"Nice meeting you."

Nayza gave a small smile in return.

"Same here."

But the smile on her face was fake.

Completely fake.
