Chapter 13 – A foolish act
Kai asked the system, "So what's the shop?"
[Information Unavailable. You need to be at a higher level.]
Kai sighed. "It's all about you and your quests… how high of a level?"
[level 5]
Then Kai suddenly remembered there was one more quest he was meant to finish. He instantly thought of opening the quests.
The holographic screen in front of him flickered.
[Daily Quests, Monthly Quests, Yearly Quests]
Kai sighed, realizing that the system was going to force him into work.
He then thought of opening the Daily Quests.
The holographic screen flickered and shifted, then displayed:
[Lift 100 kg (Completed)]
[Run at 50 km/h (Completed)]
[Complete 100 push-ups and sit-ups]
Kai stared at it. "Aren't these from yesterday? Didn't you say the system update would take a day? And it's another day now?"
[You are correct. It has been a day, but due to the system updating and you being incapacitated, the daily tasks were halted but will start again in 2 hours.]
Kai sighed in relief. "Okay…"
He then thought of returning to the main interface and opening Host Attributes.
The holographic screen shifted rapidly before his eyes, and in a flash it was showing a lot of things:

[Mental Fortitude: 2]

[You have one unseen notification. Would you like to see it?]
[Yes/No]
Kai hesitated for a split second. "Yes."
[You have gained a new title: 'Evolver'.
Note: This title is a one-use title.]
[The Evolver title will be given every time you are able to naturally evolve any one of your skills. The title allows you to force one evolution on any of your skills.]
Kai felt a masochistic grin appearing but hid it quickly. "This… this is it. I might have a chance with this on my side."
He grinned and then noticed many things had changed on his screen. "Why am I stronger?"
[You have gained many points in different attributes due to your body's reconstruction.]
Kai's grin widened and he chuckled lightly—a real chuckle. For the first time in months, maybe years, he smiled a true smile.
Then he remembered something. "System, what were my rewards for the… recreation of my body?"
[There were three new things: first, you can swim. Second, you gained God Eyes. Lastly, it was a Bloodline Rank Up.]
"Yeah, that last one… what is it?"
[Think of it like the Evolver title. It will evolve your bloodline from its core outward.]
Kai hummed. "What's a core?"
[A bloodline core is a second heart. It's within your heart. Both are crucial for your life. If it shatters, your heart might also fail. But if your normal heart fails and your bloodline core is still there, then both will heal due to the bloodline core being stronger—]
"Goddamn, stop. Just do it."

"Do it."
