Chapter 25 - Chapter 46-47

Chapter 46 – Jacob Stewart: The New King of Hollywood

January 2016 – The Consecration of an A-List

The days following the Golden Globe Awards were chaotic.

Jacob Stewart was no longer just a rising star. He had reached the top.

Now, he was part of a select group of actors known as A-List, the elite of Hollywood.

The most powerful studios wanted him in their films.

Legendary directors dreamed of working with him.

Luxury brands offered multi-million dollar contracts.

And the fans? They couldn't stop talking about him.

As Jacob drove down the iconic Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, he saw his face plastered on gigantic billboards.

A huge poster for The Revenant displayed his snow-covered silhouette, with the phrase:

"Jacob Stewart delivers the performance of a lifetime." – The Hollywood Reporter

He smiled to himself.

This was real.

He was, officially, one of the biggest actors in the world.

Jacob arrived at his agent Richard Calloway's office in the heart of Beverly Hills.

As soon as he entered, he was greeted with a warm hug.

"Jacob! The man of the moment!"

Jacob laughed.

"It's strange to hear that still."

Richard picked up a bottle of whiskey and poured two glasses.

"You need to get used to it. You're no longer a 'promising newcomer.' You're an A-lister now. This is the top, my friend."

Jacob took a glass and took a sip.

"And what does that mean, exactly?"

Richard smiled and opened a dossier on the table.

"It means you're getting the biggest scripts in Hollywood before any other actor."

He handed Jacob a stack of scripts.

"And I've already picked out the best ones for you. Take a look at this."

Jacob picked up the first script and read the title.

"Tenet" – Director: Christopher Nolan

He raised his eyebrows.

"Christopher Nolan wants me to cast one of the main roles?"

Richard smiled.

"Yes. And he asked you to read it before any other actor."

Jacob picked up the second script.

"Blade Runner 2049" – Director: Denis Villeneuve

He laughed.

"This is getting surreal."

Richard pointed to the third script.

"Top Gun: Maverick" – Director: Joseph Kosinski

"Tom Cruise wants you to be the antagonist in the new Top Gun. He loved your work in The Revenant and thinks you have the right charisma to face him on screen."

Jacob ran a hand over his face.

He had just entered the Hollywood elite, and was already being sought after by the biggest directors in the industry.

He looked at Richard.

"And what do you think I should choose?"

Richard smiled.

"That's the best part, Jacob… Now, you don't have to accept everything that comes your way. You can choose the roles you really want to play. You're in control of your career."

Jacob took a deep breath, looking at the scripts.

He never thought he'd reach this level so quickly.

But now, he had the power to decide his own destiny in Hollywood.

And this was just the beginning.

Chapter 47 – Oscar Nominations: Jacob Stewart's Moment

January 2016 – John Wick: Chapter 2

Jacob Stewart was once again immersed in the dark and stylish universe of John Wick.

Filming for John Wick: Chapter 2 was in full swing. The streets of New York, with their vibrant lights and chaotic atmosphere, served as the backdrop for the sequel to the film that had launched Jacob to stardom.

That morning, he wore John Wick's iconic black suit, his weapon firmly held in his hand, as he awaited instructions from director Chad Stahelski.

Chad walked up to him and patted him on the shoulder.

"So, John Wick, ready for more action?"

Jacob grinned slightly.

"Always."

Chad looked around and gave the command.

"Lights, camera… ACTION!"

Jacob ran down the alley, drawing his Glock 34 and firing with surgical precision at training targets. He dove behind a pillar, quickly changed magazines, and finished the sequence with three precise shots to the head of his fictional targets.

As soon as Chad yelled "CUT!", the crew members erupted in applause.

Stunt coordinator J.J. Perry whistled.

"This guy really doesn't need a stunt double. You're even better than in the first movie, Jacob."

Jacob smiled and reloaded his gun.

"Gotta keep up the standard, right?"

But before he could return to the next scene, his cell phone vibrated insistently in his suit pocket.

He frowned and picked up the device.

Several messages. Several emails. Missed calls from Richard Calloway.

His agent was going crazy.

He looked at Chad, who sensed the urgency and nodded to him.

"Go ahead, Stewart. It seems important."

Jacob stepped away from the set and answered the call.

"Richard? What's going on?"

The agent's voice was euphoric, almost breathless.

"Jacob… THE OSCAR NOMINATIONS JUST CAME OUT!"

Jacob felt his heart race.

"And…?"

Richard took a deep breath before dropping the bombshell.

"REVENANT GOT 12 NOMINATIONS!"

Jacob was silent for a moment, absorbing the information.

"Wait… HOW MANY?!"

"TWELVE, MY FRIEND! YOU'RE NOMINATED FOR BEST ACTOR!"

Jacob felt a shiver run through his entire body.

He was officially nominated for the Best Actor Oscar.

This wasn't a dream.

This was really happening.

Jacob quickly opened his phone and accessed the official list of nominations for the 2016 Academy Awards.

There it was. Twelve nominations.

The film wasn't just nominated… He was the most nominated of the year.

Richard, still on the line, continued to be euphoric.

"Jacob, this is a historic moment! You went straight from the Golden Globes to the Oscar race!"

Jacob laughed, feeling a mixture of emotion and disbelief.

"Richard… I'm going to the Oscars!"

Richard shouted from the other end of the line.

"YES, YOU ARE!"

Jacob returned to the film set, still stunned by the news.

Chad immediately noticed his expression and approached him.

"So? Any bombshells?"

Jacob took a deep breath and smiled.

"I've been nominated for an Oscar."

For a moment, the set was silent.

And then…

It erupted in applause.

The stuntmen, the cameramen, the trainers, everyone celebrated together.

Taran Butler, his weapons trainer, gave him a light punch on the shoulder.

"You can shoot like a pro, but now you also have recognition as one of the best actors in the world."

Chad smiled and crossed his arms.

"Does that mean we're filming John Wick 2 with an Oscar nominee?"

Jacob laughed.

"Looks like it."

Chad picked up a cup of coffee and raised it.

"Then let's toast to that! To Jacob Stewart's first Oscar!"

The whole crew raised glasses, cans, and bottles, toasting to Jacob's success.

And, at that moment, he knew…

Nothing would ever be the same again.

He had officially entered the history of cinema.
