"Wah…!"
"Hmm…what happened…?"
'Oh yeah, we're already back.'
Moonlight's hand reached for his fore-head. He tilted twice. Then he scratched the frontal part. He tilted his head again, this time more rapidly. His dark short hair danced around him.
'Something's wrong.'
Moonlight held a piece of his hair. 'Was it always this long?'
He crept out of his bed and instinctively moved to the window-rest. The moon was up, a full one. Stars aligned randomly on the sky; not much, not many.
'Better sleep again.'
He crept back up his bed and closed his eyes. Instantly, he fell into a deep sleep.
The entire world was a complete void. Until circles popped up and changed to bubbles, then to pages. A straight line was formed, surrounding Moonlight. In those lines, the pages knitted them closely pulled them back into Moonlight's head.
'It's warm.'
All his entire life was played simultaneously. His first meeting with Febia, with Cloud, the day he first caught glance of Great Uncle. The moment he began his reading journey and the moment he ended it. All this played at once and then, instantly it all disappeared.
The only thing Moonlight feels is his desire to know more.
"Huh…"
Moonlight woke once more. He was still in bed, covered in his sheets and was being tickled. He checked and saw the rowl he kidnapped.
It was shaken at the sight of him, but did not leave him at all.
"Oh, you're awake."
A familiar voice called from behind.
'Fe…'
"Uhhh, when was it the last time I've being here? Oh! Yesterday! Kid, do you still remember our first meeting?"
Febia smiled while she drew closer to Moonlight.
"Don't worry. Hehe. I've already arranged the room, changed your clothing, though…, and I'm currently boxing your things."
"Come help me." Febia roughly placed her hands on his bed.
Moonlight stared, then turned and surveyed the entire room. It was indeed as she had said. He removed his sheets and became flustered at the fact he was changed by Febia. Then, he turned back to her.
"You know…seeing your confused face, makes me wanna kiss you." Febia joked and chuckled after.
Moonlight narrowed his eyes to the rowl and raised it up.
'Now, what should I do with you? Oh!' Moonlight tapped his forehead. 'I meant to research on why you spoke.'
"What should I name you?"
Moonlight uttered.
"Miss Febia…?!"
"Uh,"
"Do you know a name I should name it?"
"Uhhh…."
"What did you say?!"
Febia asked.
"Do you know a name I should name it?" Moonlight replied. "That's what I said."
Febia paused and turned. She glanced at Moonlight and placed her fingers on her chin. Her feet tapped the floor and her fingers vibrated. "Is he okay?" She muttered.
Moonlight still kept a neutral face. 'I only asked a question. Why's she overreacting?'
"Wait…'
"Moonlight," Febia walked closer. She sat at the bed's side right where Moonlight was facing. "What happened?"
Febia asked again.
'What does she mean?'
"What do you mean?"
"I mean this!" She threw hands at Moonlight.
"Huh."
"You rarely speak or even talk. Yet you're talking to someone and worst, you asked a question." Her face drew closer to Moonlight as she said that.
'…she's right. I have never spoken with her and the only time was…'
Moonlight felt his lips and looked back at her, eye to eye. 'I knew something was wrong.'
No one spoke, moved or uttered a word; not even the rowl dared twitch.
Febia's face did not move, but her pupils were desperately trying to run away from the situation.
"What actually happened?"
Moonlight stayed quiet.
After sometime, Febia sighed and finally stood up. "You guys truly deserve the title of unpredictable."
"Huh."
"You Adna's…" She shook her head. "Truly a headache, but, right now, we are preparing to leave. My days of work will soon be over." Her voice derailed as she said this.
Febia went to Moonlight's cupboard and picked up a blue leathered bag with large size and extreme thickness. "Hnngh…" She tried to lift it slowly. "Well that's expected. This thing is full of books, rather than actual clothing."
She cleaned sweat off her forehead and turned to Moonlight. "Hey Moonlight, help me carry this."
Immediately, Moonlight got up and placed it at his back.
"No no what truly happened?!"
"Huh"
"The yesterday you would have thought for like a minute before even standing and now I see no slight pause."
Febia tilted her head and scratched her hair. "What actually happened in there?" She whispered.
'For the test, I know. But, for myself, even I don't know, but, I'm gonna stay quiet.'
Moonlight thought and turned. "Where should I drop this?"
"You just shrugged it off. Never mind, your ride is outside. Drop it there." She said directing her palm to the door. She sighed and nodded.
"Okay…?"
And Moonlight went out the door.
The rowl followed slowly and sat atop the bag, still shaken.
'It followed. Weird thing…?'
Outside, right below the tree that could pierce the clouds, a carriage hid itself from the sun. Three horses with repeating characteristics were the main anchor. All had brown skin and a terrifying black long hair. The only differences were their eyes which were sprayed with white paint.
"Oh? Hey there," Cloud waved at Moonlight. He sat just near the rectangular carriage. "Come here, we are prepared to leave! Have you done with packing?"
'Yes…I think so.'
Moonlight moved to Cloud.
"Drop that right there." Cloud used his thumb to point towards an opened coach. "Drop it there and comeback. It seems Great Uncle has something for us."
Moonlight nodded and dropped his load inside. 'Are they usually two of this?'
Then, he went back to Cloud. Cloud's face followed him as he sat on the grass. The rowl ran back and climbed Moonlight's back. Eventually, it rested on his head.
Cloud watched all this with a mute expression. "Didn't you eradicate that thing's bloodline?"
'Huh.'
Moonlight turned his eyes upward and raised his hands to his hair level. The rowl shifted back and appeared spooked for some time. Then, slowly, it climbed Moonlight's palm.
"I thought it would have ran away by now, but," He lowered his hand and locked his eyes on it. "It seems shaking that it hasn't left me ever since."
"Yeh, it truly is strange." Cloud drew closer, shortening the distance between the rowl and his face. "But still, this is like half your size. How is it resting on your head and hand so perfectly?"
"I wonder…"
"Well that's because they are rowls."
"Huh!"
