The sound of an engine revving caught Faye's attention, and she looked out the window just in time to see a familiar car pulling up. Her eyes widened when she recognized Hardin and Mark stepping out.
"What the hell are they doing here?" Faye muttered, hurriedly rushing to the door.
Hardin didn't wait for anyone to open it as he barged in, his eyes immediately scanning the room. When they landed on Hailey, relief flickered across his face.
"Hailey!" he called, his voice a mix of desperation and relief.
Hailey barely spared him a glance, her expression unyielding. She sat stiffly at the dining table, quietly eating her food as if he wasn't there.
"What the hell are you guys doing here? How did you find us?" Faye demanded, blocking his path to Hailey.
Mark stepped forward, raising his hands in a placating manner.
"We just came to see if you guys were here and I was right, Faye, c'mon, you can't hide here forever" Mark said, his voice pleading.
Hardin didn't bother explaining himself to Faye. Instead, he moved closer to Hailey, his tone softening.
"Hailey, please... I've been going crazy looking for you, Lucy is in my past, you're my present and my future too" Hardin spoke up in a soft tone, hoping to persuade her.
Hailey stopped eating and took a deep breath, she looked up at Hardin, her expression still numb, it wasn't cold anymore though
"You've found me now what?" She spoke up and His chest tightened at her indifference.
"I... I just want to talk. Please, can we go somewhere private?" He asked, trying to search her eyes.
"You don't have to go with him Hailey, we can leave this place and hide somewhere else" Faye chipped in, Mark has been trying to get her attention but she was ignoring him.
"There's nothing left to talk about. You hurt me Hardin, things with us won't work out" Hailey replied, there was barely any emotion in her voice and Faye found that strange.
She has been full of emotions these past few days but now she couldn't feel the emotions in her voice. "I was wrong, I was blinded by hatred and that's why I gave you a choice to leave me but you didn't, you choose to stay" he said, his voice cracking.
Hailey's eyes remained numb, she didn't so much as cry the way Faye had expected her too.
"You hurt me, Hardin" She said simply and turned her face away
"Hailey, you don't have to go anywhere with him. You can stay here." Faye said, stepping closer.
"It's fine. I'll go with him." Hailey replied standing up from her chair and a wave of relief swept through Hardin's face, he was happy she would finally give them a chance.
"No, Hailey—" Faye frowned. She was so adamant about not seeing Hardin before this but now she was willing to go with him?
"It's my choice," Hailey interrupted, her tone firm.
"But don't expect me to forgive you, Hardin" Hailey said sternly and Hardin swallowed hard, knowing better than to push her too much.
"That's enough for me... for now." Hardin spoke.
Hailey walked past him without a word, heading toward the car. Hardin glanced at Faye, who glared at him, he ignored her and followed Hailey towards the car.
"She's acting strange, I can't believe she would agree to go with him" Faye spoke as she watched Hardin and Hailey enter the car.
"You expect her to keep on throwing a tantrum? She's not you" Mark spoke and Faye glared at him.
"You couldn't keep him away for a little while longer, and don't think I had forgiven you yet"
Faye yelled.
"I already kept him away more than I planned cause I knew you would be angry and besides, Sophie isn't even in New York, she went to Australia" Mark said and Faye frowned.
"How do you know that when you're not talking to her" Faye asked suspiciously.
"Internet babe, Internet, ever heard of it?" Mark said mockingly and Faye glared at him.
She walked back into the villa quickly and shut the door before Mark entered and he sighed.
"You married her Mark" he muttered.

Hailey's eyes opened slowly, she tried to move but she felt restricted so she opened her eyes fully but she only saw total darkness.
She was more than sure her eyes were opened but it felt like they were still closed cause she couldn't see anything at all.
She felt herself tied to a wooden chair and she panicked.
Beach.. car noise.. needle.. black out
Her memories came rushing in and her body shook in realization.
"I have been kidnapped" she mumbled in fear.
She heard footsteps and her body tensed, she heard some noise and a bright like came from behind her but she couldn't turn, she only saw a shadow.
"You're awake, this place is so dark" a familiar voice spoke.
Hailey knew that voice, it sounds very familiar but she couldn't remember it.
She heard the sound of a switch and the bright lights turned on, she closed her eyes cause the lights were really bright, before opening it slowly for it to adjust.
"I'm so glad to see you again" Cole said as he came into view, he was smiling, a mischievous smile.
Hailey was shocked, she knew the face and the voice but she couldn't recognize him.
He looked extremely different from the person she know, from her friend who helped her.
"Surprised, didn't think we would see so soon right?" Cole said when he saw her expression.
"Cole?" She said, almost not believing herself
