Once Alex had woken up, he focused more on how excited he was. Totally forgetting about his rewards for defeating the spider.
Alex was so infatuated with his win that he had totally forgotten. Going around and enjoying the world in a new light.
He even went up to Lyra in a joyous mood, with a smile plastered on his face. Walking to where she slept as she slowly woke up.
Offering a hand to the waking Lyra, helping her get up. As she gripped his hand and pulled on it, getting up and sitting straight.
Then he quickly sat down next to her, with an obvious expression of joy on his face. While Lyra was confused at what was happening.
"What happened?"
Lyra was wondering why Alex was so jittery and happy.
"I killed it, I killed that damned spider!"
Lyra was obviously surprised by his answer, but then an expression of joy appeared on her face. As the two shared bright smiles.
Then Lyra had a sudden question.
"What rewards did you get?"
Alex then realized that he had not yet checked. Immediately summoning the system screen and finding his two new runes.
[Mutated Dream Crystal, Mutated Wind Crystal, Steel Web]
Alex summoned the description of Crystal's dream first.

Ruin Abilities: Increase the power of a ruin inside the dream class or talents in the dream class.
Ruin origin: Produced from the bodies of dream beings.

Alex was surprised that it was a stage three, with his highest ever only being stage two. While the strongest creature he had fought was one of the bear.
Yet the bears were way weaker than the dream spider. Alex was able to kill a bear with ease compared to the wretched spider.
Alex was then surprised that he received two crystals. Then he realized something: the spider had two abilities or talents.
It was able to infiltrate his dream, hence the dream crystal. While it was also able to shoot out air blades, hence the air crystal.
Alex decided to focus on the air crystal.
[Ruin name: Mutated Air Crystals
Ruin type: Crystal
Ruin class: Air
Ruin Abilities: Increase the power of a ruin inside the air class or talents in the air class.
Ruin origin: Produced from the beings with powers of wind.
Stage: 3
Realm: 2]
It was relatively the same as the Dream Crystal. Yet it was still useful, as both of them were rank three crystals. Being pretty broad categories.
Then Alex focused on the steel web.

Ruin class: Air, Dream
Ruin Abilities: ???, ???
Ruin origin: A web of a colossus spider, as strong as steel. Shaped to be a whip, being able to slice through enemies as easily as a sword.

Realm: 2]
Alex was shocked by what he had seen, not only its status of realm two but it apparently having two abilities.
This had exceeded everything Alex had ever seen. As it opened his mind to many more ideas about the system.
He had also noticed that the classes directly corresponded to the crystals he had gained. Creating many more theories about the system.
Yet Alex did not like the type of weapon it was, yet it would still be useful. As it was by far the strongest weapon he had.
Then he explained what rewards he had me gotten from defeating the spider. While also giving details on how he beat the spider.
Although from the outside it looked like Lyra and Alex were friends, they were still enemies. Yet they benefited from keeping each other around.
Alex was still wary of Lyra, while Lyra was also wary of Alex. Yet they acted as though they had been best friends since childhood.
Except it was just an act put on by both Alex and Lyra. While both of them knew that the other probably knew about their acting.
Yet they didn't stop acting just in case, wanting to keep their cover. Instead of trying to manipulate one another.
Eventually Alex had explained everything and had lost interest in any other conversation. Realizing this Alex kindly walked away.
With his new weapon and knowledge Alex wanted to sort through them and test it out. As he went back to his seat for a brief thinking session.
He then connected the dots as he realized that the more realms ruin had the greater its amount of abilities and classes.
This could also be true for him and the others, meaning that they could awaken more powers the more realms they advanced.
Although Alex still didn't know how to advance a ruin. While he was also unsure how to even get a realm and stage.
With his greatest bet being on finding the continents core. Yet this on its own was going to be very difficult.
Although Alex still wanted to test out his ruins strength. So he headed out to do his normal daily training.
Except this time Alex was going to use his new Steel Web instead of his lost katana.
This was like hitting two birds with one stone. As he was going to get his training in and test his new weapon out.
Once outside Alex started practicing his swinging. Although it was immensely different from wielding a sword.
As the whips crack would move slower as the while was swung but would exponentially increase its speed.
For a bit it left Alex puzzled and confused by its seemingly unpredictable movements. Except he shortly got the hang of it.
As suddenly the unpredictable movements were controlled into targeting specific spots on a tree.
When the crack of the whip would collide with the tree or even the shaft of the whip it would cleanly slice through.
It was like putting an burning hot knife on top of butter. Except that wasn't it, as it created a huge and chaotic surrounding around where it passed through the tree.
Leaving a huge hole in the tree much bigger then the whip. This led to a single weak strike from the whip being devistating and causing the tree to crumble.
The rigid shards of wood left around the tree from the whips attack and the trees fall had caught Alex attention.
As he walked up to one of the larger pieces and picked it up for inspection. Upon close examination he realized that the wood was abnormally strong.
He even tried snapping the little shard, using all his force. Yet he was unable to snap it, despite its small and skinny form.
Alex had a sudden relization that brought light to many things he had been confused about.
This realization was that the trees must've been abominations to, and that they had been strengthened by whatever magic they had.
This not only explained how the trees held the plane up, but it also explained how the bear that had slammed its body into a tree was unable to break it despite the immense force behind it. (Check chapter Twenty if you dot remember).
This was good to know, as with this knowledge he could come to Tev conclusion that all living creatures other then the humans were mutated.
Even that could be argued as the humans on te continent had all awakened a system, it could be there own magic.
Although Alex wasn't in the mood for theories that couldn't directly help him. He saved those thoughts for when he was safe in the plane.
As Alex though this a boar came charging from a nearby bush.
Haha, I kind of feel bad for this boar, but it's going to be a good test subject.
Alex let a sinister grin overcome his expression as he cracked the whip.
Unfazed by this the boar continued to charge ina straight line toward Alex. While Alex dint bother to move, instead raising the whip above his head.
Then Alex swung it down in a beautiful yet rigid motion. The whip swung into the boar, except it didn't stop there as it continued right through.
While the immense force brought upon by the magical properties of the whip had cut the boar in half.
Except this cut was clean, instead rigid and uneven. This was directly cause by the strange property of the whip that destroyed everything around its form.
Yet the boars two half's continued moving because of inertia. As even with out acceleration the initial force sent them flying.
Luckily the action of splitting the boat in half left Alex in the middle of the two half's of the boar flying past him.
Alex was still in shock by the immense power of the whip, not expecting it to be to devastatingly powerful.
Upon realizing there was nothing else to test Alex started heading back to the comforts of the plane.
Yet what Alex did not realize was that he himself was strong enough to shelter himself, offering much more protection then the whip.
Since back on the plane the initial shock had worn off. While his theories and questions were back to flooding his mind.
Although his biggest though or worry was that the creatures around him were getting to weak.
This would pits stop to any improvements Alex could make. While also stopping his learning curve.
There's was also another thing he had realized. With that being that they still had not found any sign of the continents core around them.
These worries and observation all had one obvious solution. Except Alex did not want to do it.
With the solution being leaving the plane to survive out in the wilderness. Yet Alex had subconsciously grown attached to the plane.
So the idea of leaving it although tempting was thrown out of his mind. Except it kept coming back like and unwanted pest.
While deep down Alex knew they would have to leave eventually. It would also be better to leave sooner, just because the longer the others stayed the more attached they'd get.
Eventually Alex came to the harsh reality and finally excepted it. Alex was now planning and preparing to tell the survivors about there leaving.
Well we should at least give a good bye to the plane.
