Aria came into the room later, the soft creak of the door announcing her presence, she asked me if I wanted anything for dinner. I ordered some cookies, fries, and hot milk. I thought it was best to make use of Cole's care to feed properly and renew my body and my wolf's strength, as I was yet to know what fate Alpha Gabriel may have in store for me later. A strong body and mind would be of great help in my situation, so why not? I ordered what I wanted.
The omega servant did not disappoint; she brought enough quantities for me and bid me good night, saying she would be off duty till tomorrow morning. I proposed that we could go for a walk tomorrow and spend time together. Aria's eyes lit up at the offer, so we set the time to get ready.
After dinner, I went to sleep again. The hot milk helped to dull my senses; I slept like a baby with a clear mind, the soft bedding welcoming me in a cocoon of comfort.
I woke up late the next day, the bright sunlight streaming through the window of my room enveloping the atmosphere with warmth. I checked the time; it was after eight. I saw a neatly folded outfit on the vanity chair and a small note from Aria: "Get ready with these fresh outfits. I will bring you breakfast at exactly 9 a.m."
I could actually get used to this sort of treatment. Oh, how I wished it would stay for long. I had been the servant to my stepbrother and father all my life since I was seven years old till I turned twenty. My stepfather made sure no one else was employed to help around the house. Why would he spend money on servants when he had me? He would say sarcastically.
I terribly missed my mother every single night, I knew pain even from a very tender age, so I was not new to it. So, Alpha Gabriel could do his worst, survival is what I owed myself, my mother would want that for me too.
I stepped into the shower for a quick birth in preparation for my day. Concern about the unknown symbol deeply imprinted in my skin was gone, replaced with excitement about the tour with Aria. I yearned to make friends and allies in Silverblade. I knew fully, without a doubt in my heart, that I would need them to fight through life. No one, absolutely no one, can do life alone; one way or the other, one will need loyal people around. I just hoped Aria would be one of them.
By the time I was done putting on the fresh clothes and putting away the old ones, carefully folded at the edge of the bed, Aria arrived. "Good morning," she offered with a bright smile. She appeared to be in a jolly good mood.
"Good morning, Aria. It appears you had a good night's rest, you're practically glowing," I said, with a soft teasing tone to my voice.
A cute blush crept across Aria's cheeks, she averted her eyes to the tray of breakfast she held out to me. "Yes, this is your breakfast," she handed the tray of scrambled eggs, sliced apples, and juice to me, trying to divert the topic away from her.
I understood, my mouth was already watering at the sight of food. I enjoy eating, it was my comfort thing, one of the things that made me happy. The taste of good food always worked to make my mood better. I quickly finished breakfast, thankful for the new burst of energy and vigor it brought to my body and mind.
Aria took the tray and folded clothes to wash, saying she would be back so we could start the tour. We started the tour by first checking out the general kitchen of the pack house, the aroma of freshly baked bread and brewing coffee wafting through the air. Just a few people were still around, having their breakfast.
Aria introduced me to a big, muscular man with a long apron and chef's cap, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing a collection of scars on his arms. Though physically he looked like he had no business being in the kitchen, the manner he maneuvered his way around proved he was not new to cooking and that it was something he enjoyed doing. If he was the one making all the dishes I had been eating since yesterday, then he was a real good chef; I'd give him an 8/10 rating.
We moved further to the hall, the sound of our footsteps echoing off the walls as we walked. Aria explained it was where major pack parties took place. I was mind-blown at the intricate gold design used to decorate the hall, giving it a majestic vibe. It looked big enough to contain over three thousand people. I was inwardly curious about what type of parties and balls they threw in it.
As we wrestled about to leave through an opening to other rooms, we heard an argument.
"How dare you!" a female voice thundered, the sound carrying across the hallway. Aria and I held around the corner to observe.
Two young women, appearing to be in their twenties, stood a few inches away from each other. One with blonde, wavy hair falling across her back tried to move away, but the other woman stopped her by cutting to stand in her front. "I don't wish to argue with you, Priscilla. I owe you no explanation. Get out of my way," she retorted, her hands planted firmly on her waist, her eyes flashing with anger.
"You don't owe me an explanation?" the one called Priscilla bellowed, her voice rising in pitch. She was the shorter of the two but had a more curved body, and her blonde hair was straight, tied in a ponytail.
Her face twisted with rage. "But you slept with him! And you say you don't owe me an explanation? How could you? You know I'm the one he comes to..."
"Oh please! Kelvin is not tied down to you, he's mateless ! He can sleep with anyone he chooses to sleep with for gods sake we are all adults here Priscilla, and you know it," she said, a hint of annoyance creeping into her voice.
Aria let out a surprise gasp, probably shocked at hearing the name Kelvin. I quickly covered my mouth so I wouldn't scream and blow away our cover.
"You should have refused him when he came to us, but no, instead you… you opened your legs to him and let him fuck you like a fu*king slu•t you are"
