Aria took hold of my hands in a bid to calm me, and that genuine concern made me feel cared for, the warmth of Aria's touch felt like a comforting blanket on a cold night.
"You don't have to go that far; we can settle this amicably," Aria said, trying to see reason with Priscilla, but it seemed her words only did the direct opposite, Priscilla's eyes narrowing to slits, her face twisting in a snarl.
"Have you forgotten your position, omega? Have you forgotten your place? You are not even supposed to be here with us; you little lowlife, how dare you tell me what to do?" she spat, her voice dripped with venom.
"Priscilla!" Jane's voice boomed with warning she was clearly on the edge too. "That's enough," she added in a slow voice, her eyes fluttering with fierce determination.
From what I observed so far, Priscilla is a difficult person to deal with, and I wondered how the two became friends in the first place, as they were direct opposites in character; maybe it was because they were both blondes; people end up choosing friendship over simply irrelevant things instead of going for real values.
"No it's not, Jane! it's your fault, you started all this," Priscilla sneered,
"What's going on here!" A male voice, like a sudden storm boomed into the room. The four of us turned immediately to look, shocked to find someone watching us… Not just one person, but Alpha Gabriel with two other men stood at the entrance of the hall.
The two men stood behind him like bodyguards, both well-built and heavily muscled; one had dark, long hair reaching his shoulders, the texture looking soft and curly, he was very handsome with an Italian rakish look, while the other was bald with dark skin that suggested he was of African American origin, and tattoos on his arms; he had a smirk on his face, like he found the scene before him amusing.
The number of men I had met in this pack so far since my arrival a few days ago were all delicious-looking. At this point I have lost count, they all had bodies like they slept in the gym; maybe it was because they ran a warrior training school that's well-known amongst supernaturals.
I noticed Jane staring at the African American guy with large eyes, clearly she was surprised to see him there, she was blushing profusely, like a teen who received a rare compliment from her crush, she immediately looked down at her fingers, twisting them together, I found her reaction very weird, as I watched her.
Aria must have noticed, because then she leaned in, so slowly, and whispered, just for my ears only, her words were so low that if not for my werewolf hearing ability, it would have been difficult to comprehend her them:
"The dark-skinned guy is Kelvin," she said.
'The dark-skinned guy is Kelvin'. I replayed her words in my head, wondering why she said that to me. "What!" I mouthed at her, the instant I got the message. 'Kelvin? Like the guy Jane and Priscilla were fighting over just moments ago? Oh my god! I looked over at him again, this time slowly, and, man! The man was good in the eye. He was on the big side. What were these men eating, or is this just the werewolf gene? He looked definitely like a man who knew how to give a good fu*ck, he was hot, indeed; no wonder Priscilla was fighting over him angrily, like a toddler who had lost her favorite toy; it made a little sense now.
"Are you all dumb? I asked a question! What is going on here? What were the screams about?" Alpha Gabriel barked, obviously annoyed for being ignored, his voice bringing my attention back to his face, and he was staring directly at me, like I should give him an answer.
What was I to say? This was not supposed to be my problem in the first place, if only I had stayed out of it without interrupting Jane and Priscilla's fight.
Maybe the men were having a meeting in one of the rooms around and heard the girls screaming; the hall was empty, which explains how their voice may have echoed through.
I fisted my hands by my sides, using my fingers to scratch my thumb as I thought frantically about how to exit this situation, but Priscilla beat me to it. She moved towards Alpha Gabriel, after bowing to him as a sign of submission, she showed him her arm.
"That girl over there and the lowly omega servant did this to me, Alpha Gabriel," she whined in a baby voice, someone who was basically screaming at the top of her voice. If the situation wasn't serious right now, I would have laughed at the ridiculous switch.
My hands were already stuck in the air, as I was trying to hold her back, while she went to report to the men, but I slowly brought them back, covering my face in shame. Alpha Gabriel was definitely thinking I was nothing but trouble.
"That was because you were pulling my hair, Priscilla; she was just trying to pull you away from me," Jane defended with a high tone, probably to make sure everyone heard her well.
I heaved a sigh of relief,at least this wouldn't be like last time with Venessa, this time around I wasn't alone; I had Jane and Aria with me to support me. Surely the Alpha wouldn't blame me if I explained that it was a mistake, even if he didn't believe me, these two girls beside me would vouch for me.
I raised my shoulders high and corrected my posture, feeling confident now. "Alpha Gabriel, I didn't mean to cause her bodily injury; it was a mistake, like Jane said," I gestured to Jane when I mentioned her name; both Aria and Jane nodded from my side vision.
"Did you or did you not forcefully fling her?" he demanded, with an unrelenting gaze that showed no emotion.
