Chapter 12 - Fury's Spark

"Because of our friendship, I will ignore your words this time around, but don't ever call me a slut," Jane turned around to leave, yet again, but Priscilla grabbed her hand, her manicured nails digging into Jane's wrist like claws, forcefully turning her back to face her.

"I'm not done talking, and I will give you one last warning: stay away from Kelvin, you bitch!" she shrieked, her voice piercing the air like a screeching violin with arms twisting into fists clearly showing her extreme frustration.

"And if I don't?" Jane replied, brushing off invisible creases from her dress with a nonchalance that belied the tension in the air.

"You know there's free will to fuck whoever you fancy, as far as they are mateless in this pack, If Kelvin happens to come to me again, I will gladly let him have his way with me; he isn't bound to you, Priscilla. Stop being a possessive person; leave that right to his future mate."

How she appeared calm amazed me, who was watching the exchange with growing unease.

"I Hate you!!!" Priscilla hissed, grabbing Jane's hair, her eyes flashing with a ferocity that made my heart skip a beat. Jane screamed out in pain, clutching Priscilla's hands to pry them away from her hair.

The two kept tugging, their faces twisted with emotion they were feeling, I opened my mouth, speechless at how fast the argument had escalated to a physical assault.

Without thinking, I moved fast towards the duo to separate them, my feet barely making a sound on the polished floor. Aria ran after me to stop me, but I was too fast, my slender frame weaving through the space with an agility that belied my determination.

I grabbed Priscilla and pulled her away, but it seemed I applied too much force. Priscilla was flung across the opposite direction with sheer force that shocked us all, her body sailing through the air like a ragdoll before crashing to the floor with a thud.

I stared at my small hands as if they were alien to my body, my mind reeling with the implications of what I had just done. I hadn't meant to, where did that kind of force come from?

I looked up from my hands to the woman I flung across the room, my heart racing with anxiety. Priscilla was still on the floor, writhing in pain, her groans echoing in the empty space like a macabre soundtrack.

"Who are you?" I turned my gaze to the direction of the voice; it was Jane, the one I was trying to save from having her entire hair pulled from the very roots of her scalp, her eyes filled with a mix of gratitude and curiosity.

I immediately bent over, holding my head as a splitting headache began to intensify, like a vice tightening around my skull. I cried out in sheer pain of it, my vision blurring at the edges.

Aria and Jane both ran towards me, almost bumping into each other in the process, "Are you okay?" Aria's soft voice interrupted the pain, bringing me back to myself, the gentle warmth of her touch felt like a soothing balm to my frazzled nerves.

The pain stopped almost instantly as it came. I looked at both of them with tears glistering in my eyes, my voice barely above a whisper. "What just happened?" I asked, concern dripping from my voice; it all just felt like a movie to me.

"You almost broke my bones, you bi*tch!" Priscilla replied, fuming with anger, more than before, her eyes blazing with fury.

They all turned towards her as she scrambled up and started walking towards our direction, her movements like a predator stalking its prey. Aria instinctively stood in front of me, as if to protect me from the fury-blazing woman, her eyes flashing with a fierce determination.

"You lowly servant, what gave you the right to intervene with our argument?" she bellowed, switching gazes between Aria and me, "We are sorry; please ign–" Aria started meekly, but was cut off by an angry Priscilla.

"Sorry? You're sorry?" She scoffed bitterly, the sound like nails on a chalkboard. "Sorry won't cut this," she said, pointing at the bruise on her arm; the mark blazed bright red, scaring her smooth milk skin.

"I didn't mean to push you that hard," I defended, feeling bad for inflicting that mark on her, my voice laced with remorse. I wasn't violent in nature, in fact, I had never engaged in a fight; I was always the one being picked on.

But the young woman deserved that, she was very rude towards her friend, or, as the case may be, former friend, because there's no way I believe Jane and Priscilla will stay friends after fighting over a man. Not like it was my business what happened between the two girls.

"Oh well, but you just did," Priscilla said, still fuming in anger, her eyes flashing with a malevolent light. I could see she wasn't going to let things slide.

"You're a werewolf, Priscilla, that will clear before tomorrow. Stop making a big deal out of it, and besides, she apologized," Jane reprimanded in a weary tone, her hands were curled around her body, and her face showed she had already had enough from Priscilla.

"Shut up! You two-faced bi*tch," Priscilla snapped, the words felt like a slap in the face. Jane rolled her eyes in response, like she was already used to this, a small smile playing on Priscilla's face.

"And you," she pointed at me, "I'm definitely reporting you to the Alpha for this!"

"No, no, no…" I stammered, my hands began shaking like leaves in the wind. Not Alpha Gabriel, please, I pleaded inwardly. It was just yesterday I had a heated argument with him; to have her reported back to him again within a short period of time for another issue was something I wanted to avoid at all costs.

I knew I was standing on a thin line with him, knew he was looking for the slightest reason to throw me out, and send me packing out of his pack.
