Chapter: The Invitation
The hallway outside their hotel suite was quiet when Jay-Jay finally returned.
It had been a long day.
Long meetings. Endless documents.
Financial revisions. Business negotiations.
Running a company like J & Elvara Global meant there was never really such a thing as rest.
Jay-Jay pushed the suite door open and stepped inside.
And immediately regretted it.
Because the moment she entered, chaos greeted her.
Shopping bags were scattered across the floor.
Clothes were hanging from chairs.
Someone had left half-eaten snacks on the coffee table.
And in the middle of the room stood Percy… staring at himself in a mirror.
Jay-Jay sighed.
"Of course."
Percy was adjusting his hair with extreme concentration, tilting his head left and right like a model during a photoshoot.
Jay-Jay walked past him and casually reached out to mess up his hair.
Big mistake.
Percy gasped dramatically and jumped three steps back like she had attempted to murder him.
"NO, BABY SISTAH!"
Jay-Jay blinked slowly.
Percy clutched his chest.
"Don't touch my handsome face and hair with your hands!"
From the couch, Sebastian burst out laughing.
Aurora threw a pillow at Percy.
Percy caught it and looked deeply offended.
"Do you people even understand how much effort goes into maintaining perfection?"
Leo—also known as Mateo—didn't even look up from his phone.
"About three hours."
Chloe added from the other side of the couch.
"And two emotional breakdowns."
Sebastian nodded seriously.
"Sometimes three."
Percy glared at all of them.
"You're all jealous."
Jay-Jay dropped her bag on the table.
"Percy."
"Yes, baby sistah?"
"Why does the living room look like a department store exploded?"
The room suddenly went quiet.
Too quiet.
Jay-Jay narrowed her eyes.
"That silence sounds suspicious."
Aurora tried to look innocent.
Sebastian pretended to study the ceiling.
Chloe started scrolling on her phone like nothing was happening.
Leo cleared his throat.
"So… funny story."
Jay-Jay crossed her arms.
"Continue."
Leo spoke casually.
"We bought a house."
Jay-Jay froze.
"…You what?"
Percy proudly turned away from the mirror.
"A mansion, actually."
Jay-Jay stared at all of them like she was deciding which one to throw out the window first.
Aurora grinned.
"We were tired of living in a hotel."
Sebastian stretched lazily.
"Yeah, billionaires staying in hotels long-term feels weird."
Percy nodded dramatically.
"Exactly! It damages our reputation."
Jay-Jay rubbed her temples.
"You bought a mansion… without telling me?"
Chloe shrugged.
"It was a surprise."
"A SURPRISE?"
Percy nodded proudly.
"Yes baby sistah. A beautiful surprise."
Jay-Jay looked around the room.
"You people bought an entire mansion."
"Yes."
"In London."
"Yes."
"Without discussing it with me."
Percy smiled.
"Correct."
Jay-Jay closed her eyes.
"Sebastian."
"Yes?"
"If I commit murder right now… will you help me hide the body?"
Sebastian pointed at Percy.
"I vote we start with him."
Percy gasped.
"BETRAYAL!"
Aurora burst out laughing.
Jay-Jay dropped onto the sofa with a sigh.
"I can't believe this."
Leo shrugged.
"You're welcome."
Jay-Jay glared at him.
"How is this a thank-you situation?"
Leo leaned back comfortably.
"Because now we have a mansion."
Sebastian added happily.
"With a pool."
Chloe smiled.
"And a huge walk-in closet."
Percy raised a finger.
"And mirrors. Lots of mirrors."
Jay-Jay groaned.
"My life is a circus."
Right then her phone rang.
Everyone went quiet.
Jay-Jay glanced at the screen.
The caller name made her pause.
Aries.
She stood up and stepped slightly away from the group before answering.
"Hello?"
Aries's voice came through the phone.
"Jay-Jay."
Jay-Jay smiled faintly.
"What happened?"
Aries spoke calmly.
"An invitation arrived today."
Jay-Jay frowned.
"What invitation?"
"A formal one."
"For a large event."
Jay-Jay leaned against the wall.
"Whose event?"
Aries answered immediately.
"Keifer's birthday."
Jay-Jay's heart skipped slightly.
The room suddenly felt quieter.
"What date?"
"Twenty-ninth February."
Of course.
Keifer's birthday happened only once every four years.
But Aries continued.
"And that's not the only reason for the event."
Jay-Jay already knew what he was going to say.
"The inheritance war is ending."
Jay-Jay closed her eyes briefly.
Aries confirmed it.
"On the same day, Keifer will officially gain full authority over Watson Enterprises."
That meant one thing.
The internal battle inside the Watson family was over.
Keifer had won.
Aries continued speaking.
"Many business families are invited."
Jay-Jay sighed softly.
"Of course they are."
"This will be one of the biggest gatherings of the year."
Jay-Jay already understood the problem.
If she attended…
She would likely see Keifer again.
And things between them were already complicated enough.
Aries spoke again.
"Angelo is bringing me to London."
Jay-Jay raised an eyebrow.
"Why?"
"He wants me to start learning business."
Jay-Jay chuckled quietly.
"That sounds like Angelo."
Aries added one more thing.
"Angelo still doesn't know about your identity.
"I know."
"And we're keeping it that way."
Jay-Jay nodded even though he couldn't see her.
"Good."
"Also," Aries continued, "some other people from Section E are coming too. David, Ci-N… people whose families are involved in business."
Jay-Jay sighed.
"Great."
Aries laughed softly.
"Looks like it's going to be a reunion."
Jay-Jay looked back toward the chaotic living room.
Percy was still fixing his hair.
Sebastian and Aurora were arguing about pizza.
Chloe was laughing.
Leo was pretending to be uninterested.
Jay-Jay shook her head slightly.
"Yeah… a reunion."
Aries asked one final question.
"Are you going to attend?"
Jay-Jay didn't answer immediately.
Because she already knew the truth.
If she didn't go, people would question it.
If she went…
She would see Keifer.
Finally she said calmly,
"Yes."
Aries didn't sound surprised.
"I thought so."
The call ended.
Jay-Jay walked back into the living room.
Percy immediately noticed her expression.
"What happened baby sistah?"
Jay-Jay sat down.
"We received an invitation."
Sebastian leaned forward.
"From who?"who told you "
"Ellie told me , and Aries also called, he'll be coming with angelo ."and it is Keifer's birthday. "
The room went silent.
Aurora raised an eyebrow.
"Birthday?
Jay-Jay nodded.
"Twenty-ninth February."
Leo looked thoughtful.
"That's the same day…"
Jay-Jay finished the sentence.
"…that he officially gains control of Watson Enterprises."
Sebastian whistled.
"That's huge."
Chloe leaned forward.
"So we're going right?"
Aurora said " but Jay what about you , you will have to be present there ,but what if Keifer saw you ?"
Jay said "yes , I'll have to go , as it is an important event, and don't worry about my identity, it is a masquerade party ." 😉
Chloe said " perfect, then it is decided we will all go to shopping tomorrow. Well let's eat dinner and go to bed. "
Percy suddenly jumped up.
"WE ARE GOING TO A PARTY?!"
Jay-Jay looked at him.
"Yes."
Percy ran toward the mirror again.
"Oh no."
Aurora blinked.
"What?"
Percy looked horrified.
"I only have six days to prepare my handsome face."
Sebastian collapsed onto the couch laughing.
"You're unbelievable."
Percy began dramatically adjusting his hair again.
"Do you people understand the pressure I'm under?"
Leo replied calmly.
"No."
Percy ignored him.
"A party like this will have the most powerful people in the business world."
Chloe nodded.
"True."
Percy looked serious.
"And what if someone even more handsome than me appears?"
Sebastian wiped tears of laughter from his eyes.
"That's impossible."
Percy pointed proudly at himself.
"Exactly."
Jay-Jay watched them all quietly.
A strange feeling sat in her chest.
Six days.
Six days until she would see Keifer again.
Aurora suddenly nudged her shoulder.
"What are you thinking about?"
Jay-Jay shook her head.
"Nothing."
Sebastian stretched lazily.
"Well… this is going to be interesting."
Percy dramatically pointed at everyone.
"Starting tomorrow we begin preparation."
Chloe blinked.
"For what?"
Percy answered proudly.
"For perfection."
Leo sighed.
"This man needs therapy."
Jay-Jay leaned back on the couch and closed her eyes for a moment.
Six days .
The countdown had started.
And something told her…
The night of 29 February was going to change everything.
And she slept thinking with whom I'll go to the party .
