Chapter 25 - Chapter 23 the silent authority

(Jay's POV)

The boardroom of J & Elvara Global was already filled when I arrived.

Through the glass wall I could see the executives seated around the long black conference table. Laptops were open, documents neatly stacked, quiet conversations floating across the room.

None of them noticed me yet , and how will they as I wore a heavy make , different skin foundation, different contacts , eyelashes, so that it will be impossible to recognise me.

Which was exactly how it was supposed to be.

Ellie stood beside me, holding a tablet with the meeting details.

"The representatives from Watson

Enterprises arrived fifteen minutes ago," she whispered. "They're waiting for the board."

I nodded slowly.

"Good."

To the world, J & Elvara Global had a board of directors and a very secretive Ceo that handled the company's public decisions.

Investors believed that the CEO made the board control the company.

Some believed in the rumors that the CEO is a man or he , the CEO started company in a very young age , which is true , and that he will reveal himself once he turns 18 .which is also true ,

but they forgot that women can also rule the world. 🌐

Partners believed the board ran the company and the CEO only can control them .

The truth was very different.

The real authority sat quietly in the room without anyone realizing it.

Me.

"Everything is ready," Ellie said softly.

"Let's go."

She pushed open the door.

The conversations inside stopped immediately.

Executives from both companies straightened in their seats as the board members entered one by one.

I walked in among them, taking a seat slightly to the side of the table instead of the head chair.

Just another executive.

Just another silent observer.

Exactly how it had always been.

The chairman of the board cleared his throat.

"Good morning, everyone."

"Good morning," several voices replied.

The chairman gestured toward the opposite side of the table.

"Welcome to J & Elvara Global. We're here to discuss the partnership proposal with Watson Enterprises."

The finance director from Watson Enterprises nodded politely.

"Thank you for hosting us."

As introductions began, my eyes slowly moved across the visitors.

Senior executives.

Legal advisors.

Strategists.

And then I saw him.

Keifer

He sat near the end of the table, a notebook in front of him, pen moving slowly across the page.

No introduction.

No special position.

Just another member of the delegation.

Taking notes.

Observing.

He didn't look up.

For a moment I wondered if he even knew I was in the room.

Probably not.

Good.

The chairman continued speaking.

"Let's begin with the proposal presentation."

The Watson finance director stood up and walked toward the screen.

"With pleasure."

The lights dimmed slightly as the first slide appeared.

"Our goal today is to establish a strategic collaboration between Watson Enterprises and J & Elvara Global."

Graphs filled the screen.

Market projections.

Logistics routes.

Revenue forecasts.

"Watson Enterprises currently dominates several transportation corridors across Southeast Asia," he explained. "However, expansion into European infrastructure requires a partner with technological and development capabilities."

He clicked to the next slide.

"That is why we believe cooperation with J & Elvara Global would be mutually beneficial."

I remained silent.

Ellie sat two seats away from me, typing notes quietly.

The presentation continued for several minutes.

Numbers.

Percentages.

Growth predictions.

Finally the last slide appeared.

"That concludes our proposal."

The lights brightened again.

The room fell silent.

The chairman folded his hands together.

"Thank you for the presentation."

Several board members began flipping through the documents in front of them.

I watched quietly.

Then one of the directors spoke.

"These growth projections seem… ambitious."

The Watson finance director smiled politely.

"We are confident in the numbers."

I leaned slightly forward in my chair.

The chairman noticed immediately.

"Do you have something to add?"

Every pair of eyes turned toward me.

For a brief moment the room was completely silent.

"Just an observation," I said calmly.

The finance director nodded.

"Please."

I tapped the document in front of me.

"Your proposal predicts a thirty-four percent expansion within eighteen months."

"Yes.

"That assumes perfect market stability."

The room grew quieter.

One of the Watson analysts adjusted his glasses.

"Our data suggests it's possible."

"Possible," I repeated softly.

"But unlikely."

The chairman looked thoughtful.

"What would you suggest instead?"

I flipped another page.

"Lower the expansion target to twenty-six percent."

Several executives immediately began whispering among themselves.

"That reduces risk by almost twelve percent," one board member murmured.

The Watson representatives looked at each other.

Then the operations strategist turned toward the end of their table.

"Keifer."

For the first time during the meeting, Keifer lifted his head.

"Can you verify that adjustment?"

He glanced down at his laptop, typing quickly.

The room waited.

After a few seconds he spoke.

"If the target drops to twenty-six percent, the profit margin remains stable while operational risk decreases significantly."

His voice was calm.

Precise.

Efficient.

He didn't look at me.

He simply delivered the numbers.

The strategist nodded slowly.

"That seems reasonable."

The chairman turned toward me again.

"You suggested the adjustment."

"Yes."

"Do you believe it strengthens the partnership?"

I met his gaze.

"Yes."

A long pause followed.

Then the chairman looked toward the Watson representatives.

"In that case, we recommend revising the proposal with the adjusted projections."

The finance director exhaled slowly.

"That can be arranged."

Documents moved across the table.

Notes were written.

Calculations updated.

The meeting continued for another half hour.

Contract terms.

Operational structure.

Investment distribution.

Throughout the discussion, I spoke only when necessary.

A suggestion here.

A correction there.

Quiet adjustments that slowly shaped the entire agreement.

By the end of the meeting, the proposal looked very different from the one they had originally presented.

Finally the chairman stood.

"That concludes today's discussion."

Everyone else rose as well.

"We will review the revised contract once it is submitted."

The Watson representatives nodded.

"Thank you for your time."

Chairs slid back.

Laptops closed.

Conversations resumed quietly as people began leaving the boardroom.

I stood slowly, gathering my documents.

Across the table, Keifer closed his notebook.

For a brief second our eyes met.

No recognition.

No reaction.

Just two professionals acknowledging each other's presence.

Then he looked away.

Perfect.

No one in the room had realized who had truly controlled the meeting.

To them, the board had negotiated the partnership.

To them, the company remained a mystery.

Exactly as it should be.

Because the real CEO of J & Elvara Global had been sitting among them the entire time.

And none of them had noticed.
