Chapter 4 - Season 1 : Rise of the Snakes

Nalia uses hand signs when communicating until she gets her voice back.

She will still use her notebook for those who don't know hand signs.

Oh, mangos... :3

Oh, Nalia, you sweet summer child. XD

____________________________________________________________

*At the Monastery of Spinjitzu Wu, meditating in one room, and the ninjas make combat sounds in another room.*

"Fire strike! Oh, my gosh, is that the greatest move you've ever seen?" said Kai.

"Stop trying to do it yourself. We need to attack as a team." said Cole.

*Wu goes to the training compound and finds that none of the ninjas are training there.*

"Zane, why are you wasting your special attack on me? You have to save it." said Jay.

"Nalia, no! You've already had your turn, and you lost it the moment you began biting me! Again!" said Kai.

*Wu looks for them in a different room and finds them playing video games.*

"Fantastic, I'm out of lives!" said Jay.

"But the lesson lives on, and I am getting the hang of it. Hee-yah!" said Zane.

"Okay, now!" said Cole.

Nalia was sitting on the couch, eating some pizza. She watched the others playing as she wasn't allowed to play anymore after biting Kai or some of the others whenever she lost in the game.

*As the ninjas continue with their game, Wu unplugs the television.*

"Aw..."

"Aww, come on." Signed Nalia with her hands, as she and the others had been taught hand signs as a better way to communicate, mostly for her sake than the others.

"Aw, man!" said Cole.

"What? What happened?" Jay asked.

"It took us three hours to get there!" said Cole.

"Why would you do that? Why?" Jay asked.

"Just because Lord Garmadon escaped through a vortex doesn't mean he won't return one day for the Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu," said Wu.

"But Sensei Wu, ever since he's been gone, Ninjago has had nothing but peace." said Zane.

"Yeah, peace is boring. There's no one to save, there's nothing to do." said Jay.

Nalia nodded, finished her piece of pizza, and smiled. "Yeah, pretty much, but I don't mind it."

"We can train tomorrow." said Cole.

"Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today." said Wu.

"Well, I was gonna eat this pizza tomorrow, so if that's the case..." said Cole, holding up his pizza slice, about to eat it.

*Wu kicks the pizza slice out his hand.*

"Ow!"

"No pizza for you! In order to reach your full potential, you must train," said Wu.

"Awww, but training is so boring and hard," Nalia complained, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms.

"Uh, remember when we did a little thing called the Tornado of Creation? I thought that was pretty insane." said Kai.

"Oh. You five have merely scratched the surface of your full potential. There are still so many secrets you have yet to unlock. You four haven't even begun to tap into what powers your golden weapons hold." said Wu.

*Kai's Sword is shown to be burning a pizza slice.*

"You wanna talk secret powers? Check this out." said Cole.

*Cole uses his Scythe to plug back the television so that the ninjas can resume their game.*

"Don't worry, Master. We will be ready when Lord Garmadon returns." said Zane.

*Nalia was about to bite Cole when he ended up beating her again. But was stopped when Nya entered the room, running and panting.*

"Guys, Lord Garmadon, he's returned! He was spotted approaching Jamanakai Village!" said Nya.

"He's back already?" Nalia questioned.

*The ninjas struggle to prepare for the mission. Nya gives Jay his Nunchucks.*

"Uh, th-thanks, uh--" said Jay.

"Hurry!" said Nya.

"Okay!" said Jay running out.

"Hey! Wait for me!" Nalia quickly followed after them.

The ninjas rush to the dragon cabinets to travel with their dragons but show signs of unfitness. One of the dragon doors hits Zane's head. Cole drops his weapon when mounting on his dragon. Jay fails to mount on his dragon. Wu looks in disbelief.

Nalia smiled happily as she greeted each dragon, letting out a silent giggle as Flame picked her up gently and helped her on his back. She was sitting in front of Kai so she wouldn't fall off when he was riding.

She never really understood how or why, but she could somehow understand what the dragons said. So she couldn't help but let out a painful laugh that was hurting her throat a bit, as the other dragons wanted her to fly with one of them instead.

"Uh, can I help?" Nya asked, coming over to her brother.

"Sorry, sis, where we go, danger abounds. This is a job for the ninja." said Kai.

Kai fails to reach his dragon's reins.

Nalia giggled silently, watching Kai struggle to get up on Flame. "Are you sure you don't need help?"

"Uh... Uh, a little help? Heh-heh." said Kai.

*The ninjas fly off to Jamanakai Village with their dragons.*

"Yeah!" shouted Cole.

Nalia smiled, raising her arms and enjoying getting into the air.

*With Nya and Wu.*

"Will they ever reach their full potential?" Nya asked.

"In time. Maybe a long time, but in time." said Wu.

"Did you ever find out why Lord Garmadon, was looking for Nalia to begin with?" Nya asked.

"Sadly, no. I looked through all my scrolls but found nothing about a girl like Nalia. The only thing I did find was something about a powerful yet still very young being. That was hidden away for its safety until it was ready." said Wu, shaking his head.

*The ninjas are shown flying up in the sky.*

"Just like old times, eh, Rocky?" said Cole.

"You guys believe what Sensei said about unlocking our full potential?" Kai asked while making sure Nalia wasn't falling off.

"He may be onto something. I mean since we got these golden weapons, it's not like we ever had to use them. I wonder what they do." said Jay.

"I, for one, look forward to the future. If there is more for us to accomplish, let it be." said Zane.

Nalia had a big, bright smile on her face as the wind was blowing against her. "I wish I could fly like the dragons, just being free to go wherever I want and feeling the air. Is the best thing ever."

"Don't know about you, but is anyone else a little excited about battling Lord Garmadon? I've been looking forward to trying out some new Spinjitzu moves. Could be the perfect opportunity." said Cole.

"Ha-ha! Race you there?" said Jay

Nalia's eyes lit up at what Jay said, and they grew an even bigger smile, if possible.

*The ninjas race towards Jamanakai Village.*

Near their destination. "Jamanakai Village. First ninja there wins." said Kai.

"Or the first two. Don't forget you have Nalia with you," said Cole.

*The ninjas speed through the last stretch while approaching Jamanakai Village. They all land at the same time.*

"Ha-ha! We were first!" said Kai, giving Nalia a high-five.

"No! No one was faster than me!" said Jay.

"Ha-ha-ha! My feet were down before yours!" said Cole.

"You were all disillusioned! It was clearly me!" said Zane.

"No! Me and Kai were first." Nalia signed, scowling at the others.

"Ha! See, I told you so." said Kai.

*The ninjas look up as the villagers scream and run to their homes. An evil shadow appears, and evil laughter is heard in the background. The ninjas prepare for this scenario.*

"Stay sharp, fellas. Whatever happens, never let your guard down." said Kai.

Nalia held up her staff, ready for the fight. Even though she didn't like fighting, she would if she had to.

*The laughter and shadow turned out to be owned by a young boy wearing a black hoodie.*

"It is I, Lloyd Garmadon! I demand all the in town, or else!" Laughed the boy evilly.

"Huh?" Nalia looked on, very confused.

"Lloyd Garmadon? I thought we were gonna face Lord Garmadon." said Jay.

"It's his son." said Cole facepalming himself.

"Lord Garmadon has a son?" Nalia watched the boy named Lloyd closely with big, curious eyes. This was the first time she had ever met anyone her age.

Jay grunts. "Sadly yes, Nalia."

"Looks like he escaped his boarding school for bad boys again. And to think we could've been doing Spinjitzu already." said Cole.

"Er... er... gimmie your candy or I'll release the Serpentine on you!" said Lloyd.

*The villagers start booing at him. He attempts the old can trick on them, but they start throwing vegetables at him.*

"No way! I asked for candy, not vegetables! I hate vegetables!" Lloyd starts grunting and falls down.

"I have to agree with him, who in their right mind likes vegetables." Nalia thought, sticking out her tongue in disgust.

"He's gonna have to do a lot better than use an old bedtime story to scare people." said Kai.

"The Serpentine are real, Kai. They're not something to joke about." said Zane.

"Zane is right; I've read a lot about them. Along with everything Sensei told me." Nalia looked up at Kai with a raised eyebrow behind her mask.

"Serpentine? Real? We're talking about the ancient race of snake people who once ruled Ninjago and were supposedly locked underground." said Kai.

"....Locked away, like me." Nalia thought with a bit of a sad expression.

"Sealed in five different tombs to separate the warring tribes and ensure they don't unify to exact their revenge upon those who put them there." Whimpers Jay.

"It was an old wive's tale to teach kids not to poke their noses where they don't belong. Don't you think it's a little suspicious no one's ever found one of their tombs?" said Kai.

"Well, that's because you'd be a fool to look for one. If there was anything I hated more than dragons, it was snakes. Rubber or not." The ninjas, except Nalia, grab Lloyd, who hits Jay with the can.

Lloyd simultaneously said, "Unhand me!"

"Don't worry, folks. We'll take care of this. Nothing to see here." said Cole.

"Bow down to me or suffer my wrath! I'll give you to the count of three! One! Two!" said Lloyd.

"What are we supposed to do? Spank him?" Kai asked.

Nalia glared over at Kai, bonking him in the head with her staff.

"What was that for?" Kai asked, annoyed, looking at Nalia.

"That's not nice." Nalia signed at him.

"Two and a half!" shouted Lloyd.

*The ninjas, except Naila, decide to hang Lloyd on a sign with food all over him.*

"You just made me your nemesis! Mark my words, you'll pay for this!" Lloyd screamed.

The ninjas and the citizens, except Naila, laugh at him as Zane buys candy for him and his comrades.

"Next time, try paying for your candy." said Cole.

"Crime doesn't pay, muchacho. You can take that to the bank." said Kai, as he handed some candy to Nalia.

"Mmm... cotton candy." Jay taunted.

Nalia watched as everyone began leaving to get back to their work. So she turned her attention back to Lloyd, feeling a bit sorry for him.

"What are you looking at, stupid ninja!" shouted Lloyd at her.

Nalia ignored what he called her and looked around for a way she could help him get down.

"Hey! Don't ignore me, banana ninja!" shouted Lloyd, which got her attention.

Nalia narrowed her eyes at him, offended by what he called her. "That's not a nice thing to say."

Lloyd looked confused at her by what she was doing with her hands. "If you have something to say! Speak up, ugly banana!"

Tears began forming in her eyes, but she tried fighting them back. She went on to use her staff to help him off the sign, causing him to fall to the ground in front of her. "Ow!"

Nalia pulled off her mask, as she used her arm to rub the tears away, from behind her glasses.

"You're a girl!?" Lloyd screamed, seeing her now with the mask off.

"Yes, I'm a girl, what about it?" Signing with her hands, but once again. Lloyd didn't know what any of the hand signs meant.

"I don't understand what the fuck you are saying, four-eyes!" said Lloyd.

Nalia looked at him, first annoyed but then confused. Tilting her head to the side, she pulled out her old notebook and quickly wrote something down. This was the only other way for her to speak with those who didn't know hand signs.

"What's a four-eyes?

Can you understand me, with this instead?

And why are you so rude?

I just helped you get down?

Also do you wanna be friends?"

Lloyd read her notebook with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, I understand you now, but can't you just speak up normally? I'm rude because I'm super evil, just like my father. And no! I don't wanna be friends with a girl. Eww! I don't want any of your girl cooties!"

Tears again began forming in her eyes, and before they both knew it. A silent cry came from Nalia.

Lloyd was taken aback, seeing her now crying. Along with hearing the painful sound coming from her, as Nalia's voice was hurting from her crying.

"H-hey, please stop crying; I didn't think you would be such a crybaby," said Lloyd.

Somehow, his words only worsened as more tears ran down her face. Making her vision blurry.

The citizens turned their attention to the sound of Nalia crying, causing Lloyd to grab her hand and lead her into a small alleyway. Away from prying eyes.

Nalia was slightly surprised when he took her hand, leading her away. She was still crying but had calmed down a little.

"Okay, look, I'm.... Sorry about what I said to you, so please stop crying," said Lloyd, not sure how to act with a crying girl.

Nalia wiped the tears away while sniffling a little before writing something in her notebook.

"....I forgive you.

But I really did wanna be your friend; I've never had a friend around my age.

I can't speak, I injured my voice, and it hasn't recovered yet. It hurts when I try to use it.

And I'm not a crybaby, you meanie."

Lloyd read what she had written. Before looking over at her, he saw she was now pouting with her arms crossed.

"Oh...." said Lloyd, now only realizing what he had said to her earlier was very rude and hurtful.

Nalia pulled her scarf closer to her face to comfort herself since it reminded her of her brother.

"Do you have a name, girly?" Lloyd asked, growing shy as a slight blush grew on his face.

Nalia looked over at him, now with big sparkly eyes nodding before writing it down for him.

"Nalia."

"Your name is Nalia?" Lloyd asked, raising an eyebrow.

She nodded, giving a soft smile before pulling out some of the candy Kai had given her earlier and handing it to Lloyd.

Lloyd was surprised when she gave her some of her candy. ".....T-thanks, but this doesn't mean I'm gonna stop being evil." He crossed his arms. "When my dad and I take over Ninjago, I might let you join us."

Nalia let out a silent giggle at his reaction, which only seemed to catch his attention. "D-Don't laugh! I'm being serious here!"

His outburst only made her giggle turn into an ever-so-soft laugh, and she let out a small snort along, too, holding her stomach.

Lloyd wanted to scream angrily at her, but her weak laughter affected him.

"Nalia!"

"Nalia! Where are you!"

Nalia and Lloyd stopped laughing as they heard the ninjas shouting her name, looking everywhere, trying to find her.

"Looks like I'm gonna have to leave now.

I hope we can be friends one day, Lloyd; after all, you aren't all bad."

Smiling at him before Nalia turned to get back to the others.

"Wait!" shouted Lloyd grabbing her hand, easily stopping her.

Naila turned her head and looked at him in confusion.

"Can't you just leave the ninja? That way, you could help me take over Ninjago until my dad comes back," said Lloyd, blushing a little.

Nalia looked at him surprised but shook her head with a small smile, pulling herself free as she went on to find the others.

"Nalia, there you are; we've been looking everywhere for you," said Zane.

"Don't leave like that without letting us know where you are. We were really worried about you," said Cole.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to worry you guys." Nalia looked at them with a sad smile.

"Maybe we should have you staying at least with one of us whenever we split up," said Kai.

"As long as you are okay, it's fine," said Jay, ruffling her hair.

Nalia giggled silently before taking Jay's hand and returning to the dragons.

*The ninjas mount on their dragons when Kai accidentally drops a scroll.*

"Huh? I don't remember putting this here." said Kai.

"That Sensei's bag. You must've accidentally taken it in the rush." said Zane.

"What is it?" Jay asked.

"It's a scroll, windbag." said Kai.

"I know it's a scroll, but what does it say? It's written in chicken scratch." said Jay.

"Yeah, what does it say? I wanna know." Nalia tried getting a good look at the scroll.

"Not chicken scratch. The ancient language of our ancestors." said Zane.

Nalia looked at the scroll and could easily read it as the old man had been teaching her all kinds of languages.

"Uh, can you read it?" Kai asked.

"Well, I can try. This symbol means "prophecy"." said Zane.

"Prophecy?" Jay asked.

"It means it tells the future." said Kai.

"Of course. Ha-ha. I knew that." said Jay.

"One ninja will rise above the others and becomes the Green Ninja, the ninja destined to defeat the Dark Lord"." Zane read.

Nalia felt a slight headache from reading the scroll as if she had seen something, but it was blocked by something. "W-what was that?"

Jay gasps. "Oh, look, a picture!"

"Dark Lord? Hold on... you think they mean Lord Garmadon? Wait a minute! Is that us? Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?" said Kai.

"Like how good I'm gonna look in green? Ha." said Jay.

"Isn't it obvious I'm gonna be the Green Ninja?" said Kai.

"The color obviously suits me!" said Jay.

"Technically, I am the best." said Zane.

"I've been training longer than you guys, and I like the color green. So it's me!" Nalia signed with a huff.

"Everyone, stop it! Remember why Sensei brought us together in the first place. We're a team. We weren't meant to see this and probably for good reason. Come on, let's head back home. We have training to do." said Cole.

"It's about time I added some finesse to my routine." said Jay.

"Well, I could use some exercise." said Zane.

"Yeah. I gotta work on some new moves." said Cole.

"I could maybe practice on my sand powers." Signed Nalia.

*All the ninjas except Kai head home.*

"Could I be the Green Ninja?" Kai mumbled to himself.

*The ninjas are back at the Monastery.*

"So then we all agree. The prophecy states that one of us will become the Green Ninja and the issue will not rest until it is decided." said Jay.

"May I suggest a tournament? Last ninja standing is the best." said Zane.

"And will be declared the Green Ninja! I love it!" said Kai.

*They enter to see Nya training at the training compound. Once she notices them, she gets knocked off the course.*

Jay laughs shyly. "Hey, Nya. Closer to beating your brother's speed record?"

"I'm getting there. Heard what happened in town. Just a false alarm?" said Nya.

"Yeah. Uh, but we're gonna need the space. Sorry, sis." said Kai.

"Three matches. Then the winners of each face off for the title. Armors for our own protection. It's time to see what these babies can do." said Cole.

"Hey, Nya. Wanna stay and watch me mop the floor with them?" Kai asked.

"No, thanks. I think I'll just visit Jamanakai Village. Knock yourselves out." said Nya.

"Alright! First up: Kai versus Jay! Ninja, go!" said Cole.

The fight commences. Jay uses his nunchucks but accidentally shocks himself. The fight is shown to be even. Both ninjas fight with their might until Kai uses his sword to blast a fireball at Jay, gaining victory.

"Next up: Cole versus Zane! Ninja, go!" said Kai.

The fight is shown to be a balanced fight in the beginning. Zane uses one of his shurikens to freeze Cole's legs. Zane tries to attack Cole with other shurikens, and Cole deflects each shot. Cole tackles Zane with his scythe, giving him victory.

"Next up: Nalia versus Cole! Ninja, go!" said Zane.

The fight continues to be interesting and against the earth. While going for the attack with her staff, Nalia uses her sand as a shield, aiming for Cole's legs. Cole easily blocks her attack with his scythe. He slams his scythe into the ground, causing Nalia to lose her balance and fall over. Before she can get back up, Cole has his weapon pointed at her while keeping her down with his foot, giving him victory.

Nalia huffed, annoyed, but took the hand that he offered. Helping her back up, before she went to join Jay and Zane.

"For the prize and the title of best ninja...blah blah...ninja, go." Jay mumbled.

*The two remaining ninjas fight evenly with their respective weapons until Cole uses the power of his scythe to knock Kai off the ground like he did with Nalia earlier, gaining victory. Jay, Nalia, and Zane celebrate.*

"Yes!" Cheered Cole.

*Kai viciously gets up, then loses control over his weapon as it starts to burn.*

"It's too h-hot!" said Kai.

"It's burning!" said Zane.

"Oh no! Someone do something!" Nalia signed in a panic.

"Fire!" shouted Jay.

*Kai loses control of the weapon to the extent that he throws it on the ground. This causes the Monastery to start burning. Wu quickly goes outside and uses the shurikens to melt the fire.*

"What were you thinking?!" Wu furiously asked.

Nalia quickly hides behind Cole, a little scared of seeing Wu angry.

"Uh, we were tryna figure out who is the Green Ninja." Zane slaps Jay. "Ow! Did I say Green Ninja? No, sorry." Clears throat. "What I-what I said was lean."

"You were not supposed to see this." said Wu.

"But Sensei, we wanna know. Which one of us is the chosen one?" Kai asked.

"None of you if you don't unlock your full potential." said Wu.

"But my sword. It was so bright. Is this what you meant by unlocking our Golden Weapons?" Kai asked.

"You are only at the beginning. And the road is long and winding, but yes, this is what I meant. If this is what it must take for you to train, then so be it. But none of you are near the level of what it takes to be the Green Ninja." said Wu.

The tension seemed to stop as they all heard a growling sound. They turned their attention to Nalia, whose stomach was growling. Flustered, she looked away.

The ninjas and Wu chuckled at this. "It sounds like someone didn't get enough to eat, " Jay said.

Nalia huffed, crossing her arms with her face still a bit red.

"Alright, Nalia, you can have a small lunch break. Before getting back to training," said Wu as he pulled out some mangos from who knows where.

The moment Nalia saw the mangos, she ran at full speed over to them, sat down, and began to eat.

"Wow, Nalia loves mangos," said Kai.

"Yeah, you should have seen her once I went to take one in the kitchen. She went completely feral like you stole a treasure from a dragon," said Cole.

"I remember that day clearly. She wouldn't stop biting us. She even left a serious bite mark on Zane that wouldn't go away after a few days. Sensei Wu was the only one who could stop her from causing any more damage," said Jay.

"Since then, we have learned one important lesson from that. The mangos are off-limit from everyone but Nalia," said Zane.

*A while later, at the Monastery, the ninjas are properly practicing with their weapons while Wu sees through the spirit smoke that the Serpentine has been released.*

"The Serpentine are back! Everyone in Jamanakai Village is in danger!" said Wu.

Nalia turned her head towards Wu, looking at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Calm down, Sensei. We were just there. It was some kid who says he-" said Cole.

"The spirit smoke does not lie! An ancient evil has been released!" said Wu.

"Nya's there right now." said Kai.

"Nya?" said Jay.

"Oh, mangos." Nalia began getting worried.

*The ninjas go to the dragon cabinets to mount their respective dragons. Nalia got on Zane's dragon.*

"Stay close. Stay together." said Kai.

"Would we do it any other way?" said Cole.

*The ninjas arrive at Jamanakai Village while other villagers run away.*

"I'm never coming down from this sugar ride! Woo-hoo!" The ninjas stand in front of Lloyd.

Nalia was shaking her head at looking at Lloyd with a small sigh.

"Sorry to bust your buzz, little Garmadon." said Cole.

"But it's already past your bedtime." said Jay.

"Get them!" shouted Lloyd before looking over at Nalia, who looked slightly upset.

Slithraa rattling his tail. "Seize them!"

Nalia's eyes lit up as she had only read and heard stories about the Serpentine. So, seeing it in first person caught her interest. "So cool!" She began jumping for joy, so Cole and Zane had to keep her in place so she didn't run head-in first with questions.

"The Serpentine? They're real?" said Kai shocked.

Both the Serpentine and the hypnotized villagers surround the ninjas.

"It's not just them we have to worry about, the whole village has been hypnotized." said Cole.

Jay tries to use his weapon before Zane stops him.

"No! Our weapons are too unstable. We can do more harm than good." said Zane.

"I guess that leaves us with RUN!!!" shouted Jay.

Nalia completely ignored the ninjas. She ran up to each Serpentine without a worried thought and began using sign language to ask them questions, making sure not to look completely into their eyes.

The Serpentine was confused by her running up and asking questions while quickly blocking any attack with her sand without knowing it.

"What issss wrong with thissss child?" One of the Serpentine asked.

"I don't know, and ssshe doesssn't even ssspeak with her voice." said another Serpentine.

"Nalia, what are you doing?" shouted Kai, having run back and quickly grabbed her. Her sand blocked another attack, and they ran away.

*The ninjas run away and meet up with Nya.*

"Huh, Nya. You're okay." said Jay.

"Barely. They've hypnotized everyone in town." said Nya.

"Mind control. How is this possible?" Jay asked.

"When you hear them rattle their tails, don't look them in the eyes. That's how they get you." said Nya.

"Well, what are we supposed to do? We can't use our weapons, and now we gotta fight with our eyes closed? Ha, perfect." said Jay.

"The snake with the staff is the General. He's the one in charge. If we can get the staff from him, it holds the anti-venom. If we get that, we can save everyone." said Nya.

" Look, guys. Forget about the whole Green Ninja thing. Let's make Sensei proud. The five of us. We're a team." said Kai, while putting down Nalia, who was now pouting.

"Now you're talking." said Cole.

"Oh. And Nya, you can be our honorary member." said Jay.

"Gee, thanks." said Nay sarcastically.

*The ninjas head to the Serpentine.*

"You wanna play? How about a little Spinjitzu? Ninja, go!" Kai does Spinjitzu, but loses control of it and falls to the ground.

"Okay, we're really out of shape." said Jay.

"Ha! Consider this a warning, ninja!" Lloyd laughs crazily, while escaping.

"Ninja, go!" Zane stops him with his Shurikens and approaches him using Spinjitzu.

"My candy!" shouted Lloyd.

"Sensei was right. Never put off until tomorrow what can be done today. We should've dealt with you the first time around." said Zane.

Nalia quickly ran over, using her sand to make a shield over Lloyd. "Don't hurt him!"

"I'm not gonna hurt him. I'm only teaching him a lesson." said Zane.

"Retreat!" shouted Lloyd before looking back at Nalia. "Thank you... Lia," he whispered before running away.

Nalia's eyes widened. No one had used that nickname but her brother, not even the ninjas. But hearing that old nickname was like an old, warm welcome, and a smile grew on her face.

"Retreat!" shouted Slithraa.

*The Serpentine attempt to escape, but Cole stops Slithraa and kicks him to gain the staff from him.*

"Go ahead. Give me a reason." said Cole.

*Cole gains the staff, but Skales hypnotizes him.*

"Look into my eyes. I control you." said Skales.

"You control..." said Cole.

"Cole!" Nya kicks Skales in the head, allowing Cole to regain consciousness. "You have the anti-venom!"

"By golly, you're right!" said Cole.

"Quick, the fountain!" said Nya.

"Good idea." said Cole.

*They use the fountain to spray the anti-venom on the whole village to cleanse the villagers from the hypnosis.*

"We're sorry, Sensei. If we dealt with Lloyd before he became a problem, none of this would've been necessary." said Kai.

"Even lessons learned the hard way are lessons learned. Mmm... a great evil has been released. I fear troubling times will come. This is only the beginning." said Wu.

"Then we will train and be ready for the Serpentine." said Zane.

"It may not be Lord Garmadon, but that doesn't mean we won't bring our A-game." said Cole.

"I guess I wouldn't mind doing some training, though I still find it boring and such a pain to do." Nalia sighed.

"Help us train. Help us realize our potential." said Kai.

"Yeah. Teach us the secrets behind the weapons of Spinjitzu." said Jay.

"Hmm... there is much to teach. We must return to the Monastery." said Wu.

Nya sighs. "When am I and Nalia gonna get our own dragon?"

"Patience, Nya. Your time will come." said Wu.
