*At the Monastery of Spinjitzu with Wu meditating. He hears the ninjas arguing.*
"My turn! Uh, it's my turn!" said Kai.
"Oh, you want a little more? Take this!" said Cole.
"Yeah? How about a little of this?" said Jay.
"Nalia watch the sand!" shouted Cole.
"Monkey paw to the head!" said Kai.
"Nalia watch out!" shouted Jay.
"Ninja, roll!" said Cole.
*Wu goes to the video game room only to find that none of the ninjas are there.*
"Dragon punch!" said Jay.
*Wu goes to the training compound and is shocked to see that the ninjas are training. Jay and Nalia deflect arrows with their weapons; Cole is practicing on the dummies. Kai is practicing his Spinjitzu, and Zane is meditating.*
"Ninja, go!" said Kai.
*Zane suddenly gets up from meditation and disturbs the other ninjas. He starts by jumping in front of Jay and Nalia.*
"Hey! Huh?" said Jay.
"What the fuck!?" Nalia signed in a panic.
"Nalia language!" said Jay.
"Sorry." Nalia let out a small sigh.
*Zane steals Cole's weapon for the dummy test.*
"Hey! What?" said Cole.
"Ninja, go!" Zane Spinjitzu freezes the whole compound, causing Kai to slip.
"Woah, oof." said Kai falling over.
*Kai, Nalia, Jay and Cole regroup.*
"This roof isn't big enough for the five of us." said Kai.
"Correction: This roof isn't big enough for him." said Cole.
"It's like he's in his own world." Jay raises his voice. "I BET HE CAN'T EVEN HEAR US!"
"For once, I was up for training, and now my motivation is gone." Nalia crossed her arms, pouting.
Wu approaches the four disturbed ninjas.
"Sensei, Zane's... weird." said Kai.
"What is weird? Someone who is different or someone who is different than you?" Wu asked.
"No, Sensei. He's "weird" weird." said Cole.
*Cole's flashback shows Zane entering the bathroom despite Cole doing some private business.*
"Do you mind?!" shouted Cole embarrassed.
*Jay's flashback shows him, Nya, and Zane watching a sad romantic movie.*
Man on TV "Goodbye, my darling."
Zane starts laughing. Jay and Nya look angry.
*Kai's flashback shows him going to the fridge, but he finds Zane inside.*
"Ahh! Holy bologna!" shouted Kai.
"I'm sorry. I consumed the last of the deli meat. Cheese?" said Zane.
*Nalia's flashback shows her writing something on the back of her notebook while sitting outside at night on the roof.*
Nalia hummed softly while trying to write something on the other end of her notebook.
"What are you doing up here late in the night?" Zane asked, coming up behind her.
Nalia jumped by surprise, almost falling off the roof, before turning her head to see that it was Zane. "What the mango hell! Zane, don't sneak up on me like that!"
"Sorry, Nalia, I didn't mean to scare you," said Zane.
Sighing softly, Nalia closed her notebook as she didn't want anyone to see her writing.
*Flashbacks end.*
"We like the guy. He's really smart. He's just..." Kai sighs "a little off sometimes."
"Zane is a brother and brothers are often different. I should know." said Wu.
*The Postman arrives the Monastery with the ninja's mail.*
"Mail!" They all except Nalia and Zane run excitedly to the door.
Postman pants. "Let's see. A letter from Jay's parents." Jay grabs the mail. "Kai has a fan letter. Kai grabs the mail. "Oh, something from Cole's father." Cole grabs the mail.
"What, no package? I'm expecting something from Creatures, Beasts, and Beyond." said Cole.
"No. Nothing from... uh-uh. Here it is!" The Postman hands a box to Cole.
"Ha! Rocky's gonna love this!" said Cole.
*Zane walks sadly, while Nalia stood to the side.*
"Hey, Zane, Nalia. How come you two never hear anything from your parents?" Jay asked.
"I don't remember my parents. I've been an orphan all my life." said Zane.
"You mean you've never had a home?" said Kai.
Zane just shakes his head timidly.
"What's a parent?" Nalia asked confused.
The ninjas looked at her, surprised and confused. "What do you mean? "What's a parent?" They are the people who raised you from the day you were born, like a mother or a father," said Jay.
Nalia only seemed more confused. "So that's what it means? I've heard the words father, mother, son, and daughter. But never the word parent. I guess that means I'm in the same boat as Zane."
"The Monastery is your home now." said Wu smiling softly at Zane and Nalia.
Zane sadly walks away. While Nalia gave a small smile before walking away too, but to where the dragons was.
*Nalia walks into the Dragon cabinets and sees Cole opening his package. That revealed to be meat.*
"Liver and toads, Rocky. Your favorite." Cole feeds his Dragon. "Mm-hmm."
"Eww." Nalia shook her head before going over to Zane's dragon, Shard, sitting next to him, resting her head against him, and closing her eyes. Humming a soft but sad tone that the other dragons somewhat understood.
After Cole had left the cabinets, all the dragons joined Nalia by lying close to her to comfort and protect her.
Nalia didn't know why, but she always felt safe and home with the dragons. So, sometimes, she would spend time with them when bored or wanting a nap.
"I wish I could talk with everyone else like I do with you guys. I miss speaking out loud.... but most of all being able to sing my heart out...." Nalia thought before slowly falling asleep.
*Hours later. In the Monastery, the ninjas are at the dinner table waiting for dinner.*
Nalia let out a long, silent yawn as she had been woken up a few minutes ago since she had slept with the dragons for most of the day.
"Mmm. Oh, I love it when it's Zane's night to cook." said Jay.
"Hey. I didn't hear any complains about my duck chowder last night." said Cole.
"That's because it glued our mouths shut. Did you think Jay was speechless throughout dinner? And Nalia can't even speak; she didn't even touch it. She just began making hissing and growling noises, " Kai said.
"Yeah. Please don't make that again." said Jay.
Nalia glared at Cole as she nodded. "Don't. Ever. Make. That. Again." She made some harsh hand signs.
*Zane enters the dining room wearing a pink apron with flowers while holding some turkey.*
"Dinner is served." said Zane.
Everyone but Nalia starts laughing.
"What's so funny?" Zane asked.
Nalia looked at the others, confused, because she didn't understand the joke or whatever they found so funny.
"Zane. You're wearing a... Even I wouldn't wear that." said Nya through laughter.
"Ooo, now I get it." Nalia thought, taking a good look at what Zane was wearing. "Why pink?"
"You laugh because I take steps to ensure I'm clean after cooking?" Zane asked confused.
"Haha! No! We laugh because you came out wearing that ridiculous outfit!" said Kai laughing.
"I guess we don't share the same sense of humor." said Zane.
"Well, how about this?" Cole throws a plate full of shrimp on Kai's face.
At that, Nalia and everyone except Zane laugh.
"How could you not find that funny?" Cole asked, until Master Wu pours soup onto Cole's head. "Ah!"
"Now you are brothers." said Wu smiling.
*A food fight erupts, but this still confuses Zane.*
"He looked so cute in it." said Nya.
"Sensei, help! Nalia is trying to bite me again!" shouted Jay.
*Later, Zane is taking out the trash with some help from Nalia when a Falcon appears on a nearby tree. The Falcon is copying every one of Zane's moves. It eventually flies. Zane and Nalia decide to follow it. The Falcon leads them to Lloyd's treehouse fortress, heavily guarded by the Serpentine.*
"If I see one girl in here. I'm gonna go ballistic." said Lloyd.
"Well, that's rude, and here I thought we might become friends." Nalia thought with an annoyed huff.
The Falcon signifies Zane that he found what he needed to find.
"Thank you, my mysterious friend," said Zane before looking at Nalia. "Let's get back to the others and show them what we have found."
Nalia looked over at Zane, giving a short nod and taking his hand as they headed back.
*Zane and Nalia lead their team towards the fortress the following day.*
"I don't even think Zane and Nalia know where they're going," said Kai before turning to Zane. "Uh, tell us again how you two stumbled upon Lloyd's secret headquarters?"
"We followed a bird." said Zane.
Nalia nodded.
"Why did you follow a bird?" Jay asked.
"Because it danced." said Zane.
"That was what it was doing? I thought it ate something weird." Nalia looked confused at Zane.
"Oh...okay. Was it a cuckoo bird?" Jay asked.
Everyone except Zane and Nalia laughs.
"The bird." said Jay.
"Of course not. Everyone knows cuckoo birds are not indigenous to these forests." said Zane.
Nalia nodded. "Cuckoo birds live in more tropical forests, so there is no way they would live in these forests."
*The ninjas are stunned by the fact and follow Zane and Nalia to the tree house.*
"Watch it! No, bigger! Come on, we don't have all day! It's not time for a lunch break." said Lloyd.
"Holy cannoli, Frosty and Goldy was right!" said Cole.
"Goldy?" Nalia questioned confused.
"We can't let that brat and those snakes get a foothold of Ninjago. We gotta destroy that thing before it becomes operational." said Kai.
"Whoa! Are you sure? It looks like a pretty cool tree house. There's a ropes course... Ooh, a tree swing!" said Jay.
"Hey! Remember who's team you're on. Alright, guys. What do we do?" said Cole.
"It looks like the entire place is being supported by those three trees. Once those ties are severed, the whole is gonna fall like a house of cards." said Kai.
"But why would one make a house of cards? Such construction would be careless." said Zane.
"Oh, mangos." Nalia facepalmed.
"Oh, brother." Kai whispered.
"Travel in shadows, guys." said Cole.
*The ninjas sneak up as Kai severs a rope and uses it to swing into the tree house. Cole and Nalia use the elevator while Zane and Jay climb a tree. Jay loses balance.*
"Gotcha." said Zane.
*The five ninjas are now near Lloyd.*
"It's almost finished. Soon, my fortress will be complete. You! Hold up that sign for me!" Lloyd chuckles.
*A Hypnobrai soldier holds up a sign that says, "No girls or ninjas." Lloyd tests a booby trap on him to see if it works. It works and sends the soldier crashing to the floor.*
"Booby trap!" said Lloyd.
*The ninjas get to the top of the tree house and reach for the poles.*
"Ninja, go!" Jay uses Spinjitzu to sever the first rope.
"Ninja, go!" Zane uses Spinjitzu to sever the second rope.
*The tree house stumbles and sends everyone flying off onto the ground. Upon looking for why the tree house stumbled, Lloyd spots Kai on top of the tree house.*
"I said no ninja! Attack!" shouted Lloyd.
"Everyone! Retreat!" shouted Skales.
*The Hypnobrai start leaving the treehouse.*
"Cole! Nalia! Wait till we're off the treehouse, then cut the line." Cole and Nalia nod in agreement.
Skales points at Cole. "You! You will obey my every command."
Cole under the hypnosis. "I will obey your every command."
"C-Cole, are you okay?" Nalia was getting a bad feeling, taking a few steps back.
Cole turned to look at Nalia, and before she knew it. He had kicked her off from where they were standing, and she was now falling towards the ground.
"No! No! No! No! Someone help me! Anyone!" Nalia panicked.
"M..... M-M.. o..... r.... ro!" Nalia tried screaming in pain at the words coming out of her mouth until she noticed a rope hanging close by. She grabbed it just in time. Holding on for dear life as she was breathing heavily, almost having had a heart attack.
It wasn't long until she heard someone screaming; looking up, Nalia saw Jay falling, too. She used her sand powers the best she could, making a slide with him gliding down and grabbing the rope next to her.
"That is a serious safety hazard!" shouted Jay as the tree house collapsed. "Thanks for the catch, Nalia."
Nalia gave a small nod, smiling, but she was getting tired of holding on to her rope and was slowly slipping. She began to panic again, but Jay was able to act quickly and grabbed her, having her now hold on to his back. "Don't worry, I got you, sunshine," said Jay, landing on the tree house and heading back to the others.
*Cole tries to sever the last rope with his teammates, who are still on the rooftop.*
"No, Cole! Don't!" shouted Kai.
"No! No, Cole! No!" shouted Cole.
*Cole suddenly snaps out of the trance when Wu plays the Sacred Flute, and he and Nya go collect the ninjas using Flame.*
"Huh? Where-where am I? What are we doing?" Cole asked.
"We're getting outta here because this whole place is coming down!" said Nya.
*Cole hops on the dragon. Kai, Jay, Nalia, and Zane follow suit.*
Nalia was still holding on to Jay, shaking a bit as she was scared of falling down again. Even though she knew none of them would let that happen.
"That flute!" said Kai.
"It cancels their powers!" said Jay.
"It's as old as the Serpentine themselves. But we must hurry! The Monastery is unguarded! Quickly!" said Wu.
*By the time the ninjas return to the Monastery, it was burnt down some of it still covered by the flames.*
"We're too late. Those snakes." said Kai.
".....No." Nalia looked on in horror.
*The other three Dragons cry for help.*
Nalia acted faster than the others, dashing to where the dragons was. With Cole right behind her.
"Rocky!" Cole and Nalia quickly releases the Dragons to gain some fresh air.
"Our home." said Kai.
"Shard! Put this out!" said Zane.
Shard freezes the burning flames.
"The training equipment, gone." said Zane.
"Our video games, gone!" said Jay.
"They stole their staff back." said Wu.
"What do we do now?" Cole asked.
Kai's sorrow quickly turns to anger as he turns to Zane and Nalia.
"If you two hadn't followed that silly bird, none of this would've happened!" said Kai.
"Kai..." said Wu.
"No, Sensei, he's right!" Jay turned to Zane and Nalia "Because of you, my high score has been deleted!"
"This is a teaching moment. We must learn from this." said Zane.
Nalia hid behind Zane, shaking as tears were forming in her eyes.
"A "teaching moment"? What's wrong with you? Don't you get it?! EVERYTHING IS GONE!" shouted Cole.
At this, Nalia began crying out loud; though painful, it was a little clearer. After everything that had happened today, it just became too much for her.
"Enough!" The three ninjas turn to look at Wu. "We are all at fault. Zane and Nalia are your brother and sister. Apologize at once."
The three ninjas change their emotions and turn around to apologize to Zane and Nalia.
"I'm sorry, Zane, I..." said Kai but Zane had disappeared.
"Zane?" said Jay before turning to Nalia, who was still crying.
"We're sorry, Nalia. We didn't mean to make you cry," said Cole, walking over and getting down to her level.
"Yeah, this wasn't your fault nor Zane's," said Jay, walking over too.
"Please don't cry, Nalia. If anything, you should probably be the one angry at all of this. I mean, you lived here longer than us, so it was much more of a home for you," said Kai.
Nalia still had tears running down her face, but she wasn't crying as much as before. "I-I'm sorry, please don't leave me because of this."
The three ninjas looked surprised at this before getting worried. "We would never leave you because of something out of your control." They pulled her into a hug to comfort her.
*Some time later. The ninjas are sitting on the Mountains of Impossible Height, trying to gain their spirits.*
"Wh-what are we eating again?" Kai asked.
"Mud newt. Not bad for something that lives underground." said Cole.
Nalia leaned back, letting out a hissing sound in disgust. "Keep that shit, far away from me."
"Nalia language," said Wu.
"Sorry, Sensei." Nalia still wasn't going to touch what Cole had made.
Jay disgusted. "What?" He spits out the piece he was eating before throwing away his portion. He then throws a rock into a can. "Yeah! A new high s-sc-score!"
"Remember, we must be thankful for what we still have." said Wu.
"What do we have? Our home is gone." said Cole.
"You know, I don't miss our home. What I really miss is Zane." said Kai.
"Yeah. I miss Zane." said Jay.
"I wish Zane was still here." Nalia looked down at the ground, tears slowly forming in her eyes.
"Zane?" said Nya.
"Yeah, Zane. You know. White Ninja. The smart, strange one." said Jay.
"No." Nya points ahead. "Zane!"
"Zane!"
"Zane!"
*They all run to Zane.*
Jay sighs in relief. "Zane. We're so sorry for everything we've said. We're a team and that means we're all responsible."
"You don't need to apologize to me." said Zane.
"But what about all those awful things we said? Isn't that why you left?" Kai asked.
"Of course not. I saw the Falcon again and I followed him." Zane explained.
"That's our Zane." said Cole.
They all hug Zane.
"We're happy to have you back." said Nya.
"Why? Is it my turn to make dinner?" Zane asked.
Everyone starts laughing.
"Yes, Zane. We would love for you to make dinner." said Wu.
"I'm pretty sure it's my turn after Cole," Nalia thought to herself, but she didn't want to ruin the moment.
"But I already made it. Come. I want to show you what I've found. I think you will all be pleased." said Zane.
*They all follow Zane to the Sea of Sand.*
"So much sand!" Nalia looked around with big, sparkly eyes.
"I can't explain it, but I feel a strange connection with the Falcon. I think he's trying to help show us the path we need to take." said Zane.
*Zane shows them the Destiny's Bounty.*
"Our new home." said Zane.
*Everyone is surprised by this revelation.*
"Do I smell pie?" Jay asked.
"Cobbler berry. Oh, and I made myrtle berry and apple and—" Zane went on to explain.
*Kai, Jay, Nalia, Cole, and Nya race to the Bounty.*
Nalia used her sand powers to get a boost.
"Hey! That's cheating!" shouted Jay.
"Quickly! Before she eats the whole pie herself!" shouted Kai.
"I'm proud of you, Zane. One day, I promise. We will find your family." said Wu.
"But I've already found them." said Zane.
"I feel there's more to you than meets the eye. There's something special about you, Zane." said Wu.
"Sensei, will I become the Green Ninja?" Zane asked.
"It's too early to tell, but if it's in your path, you'll know. Come now. It would be a shame to let them to eat all that pie." said Wu.
Wu, Nya, and the ninjas are enjoying dinner and another food fight inside the Bounty. While Lloyd, having been exiled by the Hybnobrai, is wandering by himself.
