With one loud roar it made its way in. There it stood, made of the same black ooze, but it was different. It was huge about four times the size of Galadriel its head near the ceiling of the opening. It was almost like a really buffed human, yet so disfigured and it had sharp claws ready to tear at any enemy, its head hard to tell what it is.
"Looks like this won't be as easy as I had hoped.." Galadriel murmured out, before she could open her mouth to say something else it rushed straight at her. Mira made distance from Galadriel and the creature. It swung down at Galadriel, she barely dodged the swing as it tore the ground up. Despite its size it moved fast, its other hand already swung at Galadriel, she brough her spear up blocking the hit. Yet she was pushed from the force, her feet sliding against the floor seeking a foothold. Her eyes watch carefully as she moves to block the next swing. Mira takes a few deep breaths, as she takes out the gun pointing at the creature. Galadriel notices Mira taking action, she pushes back the creature with one heavy huff.
She spins the spear quickly around swinging straight down the creatures arm, leaving a huge gaping wound, ooze spilling through it. Mira presses the trigger of the gun, but nothing happens. Click, click, click, nothing again and again. Panic sets in, she grips the gun tighter, she doesn't want to get close and use a sword. She holds down the trigger, which seems to push the gun to life. A soft blue light slides through the engravings on the gun, as a small orb starts to form at the tip of the gun. "Buy me some time while I work this thing..!" Mira's shaky voice left her lips. With a small nod Galadriel swung her spear once more, a small faint golden glow emitting from the spear. A clean slice across the chest of the creature, making it take a few steps back.
The black ooze slowly trickled down from its wounds. Clearly its frustrations and rage building as with a sudden roar it stomped its foot into the ground. Large chunks and shard of the ground erupting, with a quick move it grabbed one of the larger chunks and ran at Galadriel. The chunk raised high above its head as it swung it down straight at the girl. With a quick step Galadriel dodged the swing, the chunk almost grazing her. The monster lifted the piece up and rammed it straight into Galadriel, her quick reaction barely managing to place her spear between the chunk and her body. The monster stepped forward pushing Galadriel back towards the wall. With a loud buzzing sound followed by a splatter sound, half of the creature's arm was shot straight off. With a thud the arm fell to the ground slowly dissipating into the same black liquid. Mira clutched the gun a bit harder as small smoke lifted from the barrel of the gun. Soon with another thud the large chunk fell onto the ground, as the monster stepped back once more.
Galadriel left a small sigh of relief, she was this close to being squashed against a wall. The monster turned its disfigured head towards Mira as with a sudden burst of rage it roared louder than before, the room shaking. With a quick move it pressed its foot into the ground and then launched at Mira. With a quick step Mira moved her feet, running as it chased after her. Galadriel closely watched for a moment to step in and distract it once more. It slammed its hand into the ground tearing the ground with it. Flinging the chunks and debris towards Mira, her breathing growing unstable. She could feel tears forming at the corner of her eyes as she ran, holding the trigger down as another ball formed. As the monster was about to throw another set of chunks at Mira, Galadriel ran straight at it. The tip of her spear aimed at it as she pushed it straight into the wall, cracks forming from the impact. With that Mira spun around and fired the shot, as the bright blue bolt flew straight at it, splattering its head across the wall. Its body slowly grew lifeless, with a loud huff Galadriel removed her spear and took a few steps backwards. Mira didn't lift her gun down, she felt uneasy as if it wasn't done just yet.
It was all silent, it seemed like Mira was anxious for no reason. She slowly lifted her gun down and walked up to Galadriel, her eyes scanning to see if she is okay. Galadriel turned around and smiled at Mira "What? Worried about me?" a small chuckle left her lips. Yet Mira didn't even smile, suddenly she grabbed Galadriel and pulled them both back. "Watch out!" Mira's voice rung through the opening as they made distance from the 'corpse' of the monster. She knew it was odd that it hadn't turned into the black liquid yet.
Suddenly the ground shook, all the black liquid slid over back to the creature's body. More of the black ooze erupted from the ground, like tentacles. Slowly wrapping around the creature, bringing it back to its feet. With a load roar it grabbed one of the tentacles, it shaped itself, becoming something like a jagged and rigged sword. Its body reformed itself, growing thicker and larger. Small spike like tentacles formed on its back. With its other hand it grabbed another one of the tentacles, yet this time it didn't shape itself. Its eyes visible as they had a faint white glow to them, sharp and full of pure rage.
With a quick swing the sword slammed into the ground, both of the girls separating once more as they dodged the swing. The swing left a small long crater in its wake. With a sudden turn the blade slid through the air towards Mira. With a quick lunge Galadriel met the blade with her spear, slowly bringing the swing to an end. Her arms shook as she held the blade in place. Mira didn't waste time as she made distance between her and the creature, charging the gun once more. The monster gripped the tentacle tighter as it raised it. With a quick move it brought it down upon Galadriel. Yet before it could touch the girl a familiar bright light pushed it back, tearing through it. In that moment Galadriel jumped back and spun the spear around in her hand. The soft faint glow from earlier, grew brighter and brighter. Galadriel dashed back in, the monster meeting her with its blade. Yet with a clean slice it was split in half. The creature swung its tentacle once more, but just like before it was pushed back by a shot from Mira. The black liquid splattered across the ground. As Galadriel closed in on the creature, it roared as the tentacles sprung out from its back. Turning and twisting, they headed for Galadriel, sharp and hardened almost like spikes. They slammed into the ground right before her, with a few quick steps she made distance from it. Another sharp buzz sounded as the bright light soared and headed straight for the creature's head. But the tentacles sprung back and blocked the shot as they splattered all around. With a sharp roar it threw the large tentacle in its hand straight at Mira. The girl managed to somehow evade most of the attack, as she fell back. The tentacle dissipated into the black liquid. But just as fast it suddenly erupted into sharp needle like spikes. Mira jumped back, but one of them caught her, piercing through her foot. With a sharp groan, she moved her foot away, feeling tears form at the corner of her eyes once more. The creature didn't waste time, lunging at mire, tearing the ground up.
Yet in that same moment, just as the monster's broken blade almost met Mira. Galadriel jumped at the creature, piercing her spear into its back. The golden glow intensified as she slid hear spear through its back, yet she wasn't done. With a quick turn she slid it back up, sliding her blade through its firm yet gooey skin. One after another she slashed and slashed, tore away at it. Its blade came to a stop as it suddenly erupted into the black liquid, covering the ground. Everything came to a still, Galadriel breathless made her way over to Mira. Extending her hand, Mira clutched it and slowly stood up. Pushing herself through the sharp pulsating pain her foot.
Looking around Mira felt her heart sink a bit, the liquid began sliding deeper into the mine, from where the creature came. "Seems like it's not over.." She mumbled out, the faint exhaustion in her voice noticeable "No choice but to keep going.. We can't go back without being done with this." Mira nodded at her words and straightened herself out.
Heading deeper into the mine, they followed where the black liquid was heading. They didn't encounter a single monster, as if whatever it was, was gathering its strength or itself together.
Eventually it opened into a large room, larger than the one before. There it was what they were looking for. It was almost like a huge blob which was slowly forming itself. Before they could even react it attacked, a sharp spike heading straight for Galadriel's heart. "I can't dodge that nor block that.." Galadriel's mind rushed, was this truly how it ends. With a sudden cling, the attack was directed elsewhere, shooting into a nearby wall.
Mira stood before Galadriel, her sword for once drawn. It hadn't been removed from its scabbard before, finally seeing it was surprising. So this is the blade Euthykritos gave her, it was ocean blue, a long blade. A word engraved into the blade of the sword in the native language of the people here. Fear. Yes, that was the word. And the expression on Mira's face was so different than what she had seen this whole time. It was serious, she didn't seem afraid, not even slightly. Mira's grip on her sword tightened. "It wasn't supposed to come like this.. Why now.." Mira spoke to herself, her eyes falling on Galadriel "Galadriel.."
