Chapter 1 - Final destination

The soft sound of alarms beeping filled the dimly lit main command room. The buzzing of the broken screens, flickering and flashing. Stirring awake was a girl, her suit torn at her arms, waist and legs, the slow drops of blood hitting the ground. She winced by the sudden sharp pain which ran through her body, a quiet gasp leaving her lips, followed by a loud grunt.

Pushing herself up slowly, she gazed around the once tidy and bright command room, now in ruin, furniture scattered and torn, exposed wires buzzing with a dangerous hum. Right, she had crashed, a unnoticed asteroid hit her vessel at high speeds hurling her towards some unknown planet. She slid along the wall, her pale blue hair a mess with smears of blood, her hand reached for a small box on the wall as she swung it open. Medical supplies, she had learnt how to take care of herself all those years ago and now it's finally coming to help her.

She could barely hold the bandages as she tied them hardly against her wounds, forcing the blood loss to slow down, hastily she popped a small vial open and slide the pill at the bottom of it straight into her mouth, swallowing it. Specially engineered pills to rapidly boost blood clotting, helping in closing open wounds, she was about to rest but another loud beep echoed through the ship. "LOW ON OXYGEN" echoed through the ship several times. A exhausted sigh left her lips as she trailed towards the exit of the ship, her steps slow and uneven. "How unlucky can I get.." She muttered under her breath as she slammed her fist into the wall. Reaching the door, she tapped a code into the panel and the doors slowly slip open, she was taking a gamble on there being breathable air, she'd die either way if there weren't.

The sliding doors opened to a sight which she couldn't believe. A vast ocean, one which stretched for what seemed to be eternity, nothing but the soft blue hue of it illuminating her face, scratched up and worn out. She could see her reflection, she couldn't mistake herself anywhere, her light grey eyes which stared right at her, the soft pink hue on her skin which mixed with its soft whiteness, her body which was average across most boards. Yeah, that was definitely her, the face she saw every day. "It really is pretty.. But.." she knew she couldn't just keep ignoring the fact that it would be real difficult to survive here. "At least I can breathe.." Despite that, she couldn't even crack a smile, slowly sliding down the wall, her mind swirling with thoughts. The most she wanted was to just close her eyes and rest, her body barely forcing itself to sit against the wall.

Her eyes suddenly flew open, the sun had already been setting and her gaze lingered on the ocean which had now been painted a soft white and pink, the star slipping past the horizon. But she could care less about the pretty sights, forcing herself up she stared right into the water, taking cautious slow steps back. She knew what she had just heard, it wasn't her imagination, was it? That rumbling which echoed from the depths of the ocean, she wanted to run but she had nowhere to, confined to her space shuttle, she couldn't escape. It felt uneasy, the ocean was silent once more, dead silent and the last of the light had already slipped past and disappeared behind the horizon. It felt odd to her that she hadn't seen a single living thing around here, not a insect, not any flying creature nor any water creatures. It all felt too silent, too dead.

A long sigh left her lips, maybe it had been her imagination. She slowly sat back down, what bad could it do to close her eyes for a moment longer.

She had found herself faced with a mirror, it had been her old room before she had left her home planet. Was that all really a bad dream? She shook the thought and gazed around, her eyes landing on the calendar posted on her wall. She felt herself involuntarily take a step towards it, she couldn't believe her eyes. She instantly ran up to the window, searching for something across the many buildings, no matter where she looked she couldn't see it. Panic rose through her body, she froze up stunned, how could she ever forget this day.

Yet that thought was lost as she opened her eyes to see the rays of light shining brightly into the open doors of her crashed shuttle or what is left of it. She was once more faced with the cold hard truth of the world, that ocean which she had already gotten sick of. Her concept of time had been warped, she could not tell how long it had been already, did she crash yesterday or multiple days ago. She couldn't tell how long she had been out cold for, but her body felt refreshed. The ocean remained just as still, she had to start thinking of ideas to get out of this situation, either that, or sooner or later she'll end up being a floating corpse atop this vastness. Yet her thoughts were cut short and her answer had just been offered to her, but maybe not the one she had been hopping for.

The rumbling from before returned, as if a wail from the depths of the ocean or the ocean itself. Small ripples formed in the water, slowly growing in size, the sound grew louder and louder, the water seemed as if it shook from whatever was coming up. Her eyes darted across the surface of the water looking for the source, she crawled backwards as if she could even hope to escape. Her eyes widened as she was faced with the gaping mouth of a colossal creature, it moved quick despite its overwhelming size. She couldn't help but scream out of pure desperation, tears forming at the corner of her eyes, yet that didn't stop it. So, the surface of the water had been empty once more, the girl swallowed along with her vessel to be taken into the depths of the ocean, her final cries which would not be heard by anyone.
