Chapter 1 - Prologue

You're never really prepared for what can happen.

Seriously. Never.

One moment, you're sitting in your room, installing some Minecraft mods, fighting with .jar files and praying nothing breaks.

The next…

You wake up in a damp alley, smelling like piss, your whole body aching, with exactly two dollars in your pocket.

Two.

Dollars.

"…You've gotta be kidding me."

Yeah, I know. Sounds like the kind of cliché opening you find in some random fanfiction online.

"Ordinary guy gets thrown into another world."

"No powers."

"No money."

"No dignity."

Congratulations. I became a statistic.

But as insane as it sounds…

This actually happened.

And let me tell you something—being a guy in his twenties, with no documents, no money, and absolutely nothing to his name—in New York—

Is not an "adventure."

It's a sentence.

In the first few minutes, I had at least two breakdowns.

I don't know if they were anxiety attacks, existential dread, or just my brain trying to shut down.

But eventually… I stood up.

Because, well… what else was I supposed to do?

I tried to look on the bright side.

(Spoiler: there isn't one.)

Then—

I heard a thwip.

And when I looked up…

I saw a guy in a red-and-blue skin-tight suit swinging between buildings like gravity was just a suggestion.

Nice.

Really nice.

Because in that exact moment…

I realized something.

I wasn't just screwed.

I was in the Marvel universe.

And considering my luck?

I was probably about to die in the dumbest way possible.

But, to my surprise…

Before I could spiral into another full-blown breakdown—

Something caught my attention.

At the corner of my vision.

…What?

I frowned.

Blink.

Twice.

Three times.

It was still there.

A bar.

With several perfectly aligned squares.

Silent.

Still.

Familiar.

Way too familiar.

"…No."

My breath hitched.

That wasn't possible.

I had seen that countless times before… but always through a screen. A monitor. A game.

But now?

Now it was… in my vision.

Like it had always been there.

Like it belonged there.

The Minecraft inventory HUD.

I stayed silent for a few seconds.

Processing.

Or trying to.

"Okay." I rubbed my face slowly. "Okay."

This is not normal.

This is definitely not normal.

And honestly?

I don't even know if this makes things better or worse.

My eyes shifted slightly upward.

Above the bar…

Hearts.

Full.

Okay.

At least I wasn't dying… yet.

And to the right—

A small armor icon.

Empty.

Zero.

Nothing equipped.

"Incredible…" I muttered, staring into nothing. "I got thrown into the Marvel universe…"

I paused.

Looked at the HUD again.

"…and it brought Minecraft with me."

I took a deep breath.

Slowly.

Trying, with everything I had, not to have a third breakdown in under five minutes.

"Alright… alright…" I shook my head. "Think."

Inventory.

Hearts.

Armor.

That means…

I swallowed.

"I have game mechanics."

A nervous smile crept onto my face.

"So…"

Maybe.

Just maybe.

I'm not completely screwed.
