These are the days (child-rearing years)
Her side:
I know I've changed,
My body is not the same.
Nose a little wider,
Frame a little larger and softer,
From the babies I gave birth to.
And I'm too tired to spend time together,
The pitter-patter of small feet on the ground seems so far away
Where we can get a break for each other,
I'm sorry I get upset so often.
My emotions seem to have consumed me.
Please forgive me.
His side:
I've seen the changes,
I've loved you through them all.
You can yell and cry ill hold you through it all.
We've weathered many a storm, and this one is no different.
I love your soul first before I love your body. You can lean on me.
Rest in me, and I'll protect your heart.
There is nothing to forgive my love,
You're still that girl, my girl. I yet love you still.
Them together:
These are the days,
We once prayed for,
And now it's come to pass.
Yes, there are ups and downs,
But we've faced them all.
No matter the changes,
I will still choose you time and time again.
So let us take joy in the children we have created,
Not a burden but a thing to be celebrated.
For these are the days we will long for again when they are grown.
