Chapter 73 - The guild

The next morning, after a quiet breakfast with Lina and Suki at the inn, Luo Feng left them in the care of the kind innkeeper and walked toward the central Adventurers Guild of the Holy Kingdom of Elysium.

The guild building was grander than the one in the Dragon Kingdom — white marble pillars, glowing runes etched into the walls, and an atmosphere of calm holiness. He pushed open the heavy doors and stepped inside.

The lobby was busy but orderly. Luo Feng walked straight to the reception desk where a polite young woman in white robes greeted him.

"I'm from the Dragon Kingdom," he said calmly. "Can I register as an adventurer here and take quests?"

The receptionist smiled professionally. "Of course. However, we need to verify your identity and test your adventurer rank first. Please place your hand on this orb."

Feng nodded and agreed.

At that exact moment, the Guild Master entered the hall from a side door. He was an elegant elf — tall, silver-haired, strikingly handsome, with sharp, wise eyes and long pointed ears. He carried an air of quiet authority.

The receptionist turned to him respectfully. "Guild Master, we have a new adventurer from the Dragon Kingdom. I was about to verify his rank."

The elf Guild Master glanced at Feng with interest and nodded. "Let me handle this personally."

He pulled out a beautiful crystalline orb larger and more intricate than the one in the Dragon Kingdom. It shimmered with holy light.

"Please place your hand on the orb," the Guild Master said.

Feng did so without hesitation.

The orb glowed brightly. Runes floated in the air above it, displaying his information clearly for everyone in the lobby to see:

Name: Luo Feng

Rank: B

Skills:

Appraisal (Rare)

Stealth Specialist (Unique)

Then, a new line appeared in glowing golden letters, causing the entire hall to freeze:

Title: Hero Slayer

Meaning: He who has slain a hero beloved by the Goddess.

The lobby went completely silent.

Then chaos erupted.

Every adventurer in the hall — dozens of them — stood up at once. Chairs scraped loudly. Weapons were drawn in a flash of steel. Swords, staffs, and bows were pointed directly at Luo Feng.

The Guild Master himself drew a beautiful silver longsword, his elegant face now cold and wary, eyes narrowed.

The holy runes on the walls flickered as tension filled the air.

Everyone stared at the lone man standing calmly at the reception desk — the man who had just been revealed as the one who killed a Goddess-blessed hero.

The Guild Master's voice rang out, sharp and commanding:

"Explain yourself… Hero Slayer."

The entire guild hall held its breath, weapons still aimed at Luo Feng.
