The Guild Master looked at Luo Feng with deep concern, his scarred face heavy with worry.
"Feng… after you killed one of the five heroes the Goddess herself summoned, she might not let you go easily. The Church is already calling you a demon. The Goddess could strike at any time — directly or through her blessed ones."
Luo Feng sat quietly for a moment, then gave a small, calm nod.
"That is okay," he said simply. "I will take care of it when the time comes."
The Guild Master studied his face for a long moment, then sighed and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Rest here as long as you need. You're safe in the guild for now."
Luo Feng stayed in the capital for two more days.
He spent the time quietly recovering, letting the healers finish their work on his remaining wounds. During the day he walked the guild halls or sat in the lobby with the other adventurers, listening to their stories and sharing simple meals. Lina stayed close by his side the entire time, never straying far, her hand often finding his. She had become like a little sister to him — the last living piece of Eden Village.
In the evenings, when the guild grew quieter, Luo Feng would sit on the rooftop with Lina, looking out over the capital lights. They spoke little, but the silence was comfortable. He told her small stories about Miya — how she smiled when they planted the first grapevines, how she looked on their wedding day. Lina would cry sometimes, but she always smiled through the tears, grateful to have someone who understood her pain.
The adventurers treated him with deep respect. Some offered to spar with him to help him regain strength. Others quietly promised that if the heroes ever came looking for revenge, they would stand with him.
On the evening of the second day, as the sun set, Luo Feng stood at the guild window, staring toward the north — the direction of the ruined village that no longer existed.
Lina stood beside him, small hand in his.
"Feng… what will you do now?" she asked softly.
He was quiet for a long moment.
Then he answered in his usual calm voice:
"I will go home… and I will make sure no one else has to suffer like we did."
The capital lights twinkled below them, but Luo Feng's eyes were already fixed on the road that would one day lead him back to the graves of everyone he had lost.
