Chapter 62 - unconscious for 2 weeks

Luo Feng had been unconscious for two full weeks.

The guild healers had worked day and night, pouring every drop of magic and medicine into his broken body. Deep gashes, shattered bones, and internal injuries slowly knit back together. He lay in a quiet room on the upper floor of the Adventurers Guild, pale and still.

Miya's friend, Lina, had never left his side. She sat on a stool beside the bed, holding his hand tightly even while she slept, her head resting on the edge of the mattress.

On the morning of the fifteenth day, Luo Feng's eyes slowly opened.

The first thing he saw was Lina's sleeping face, tear tracks still visible on her cheeks. He tried to move, and a small groan escaped him.

Lina's eyes snapped open instantly. The moment she saw him awake, she let out a choked cry of relief.

"Feng…! You're awake!"

She jumped up, still clutching his hand, and rushed to the door. "Guild Master! Everyone! He's awake! Feng is awake!"

Luo Feng sat up slowly, wincing at the lingering pain in his chest and shoulder. He followed her out of the room, still a little unsteady on his feet, and walked with her down the stairs into the main adventure lobby.

The entire hall was packed. Guild Master, S-rank and A-rank adventurers, healers — everyone who had been waiting for news of him — turned at once. The moment they saw him, a loud cheer erupted.

"Feng! You're back with us!"

"Your revenge was successful!" one S-rank warrior shouted. "You took down 218 soldiers and four of the heroes! But… the four who survived are still alive."

Luo Feng's expression remained calm, but his eyes darkened.

The Guild Master pushed through the crowd and placed a steady hand on his shoulder.

"Welcome back, Feng. Sit down. I'll tell you everything that happened after you passed out."

They guided him to a long bench. Luo Feng sat, Lina staying close beside him, still holding his hand.

The Guild Master spoke clearly so everyone could hear.

"After the Goddess's barrier protected the last hero and you were blasted away, the King ordered his royal guards to execute you while you were unconscious. We stopped them. There was almost a fight between the adventurers and the royal forces, but the King saw how many powerful adventurers were ready to stand with you. He backed down and agreed to end the battle there. We carried you back here and treated your wounds. The four heroes who lost their limbs were taken away by the Church of Light. The Goddess herself answered their prayers. Their arms and legs have fully regrown. They are healed… and they are furious."

The Guild Master's voice grew grim.

"Feng… you need to be careful. The four surviving heroes have sworn revenge. The King and the Church are protecting them. They might come after you — or after anyone close to you — at any time."

The lobby fell quiet. Every adventurer looked at Luo Feng with a mix of respect, worry, and burning anger toward the heroes.

Luo Feng sat in silence for a long moment, processing everything. His hand gently squeezed Lina's.

Finally, he spoke, his voice low but steady.

"I understand."

He looked around at the gathered adventurers, then at the Guild Master.

"Thank you… all of you… for protecting me."

Outside the guild windows, the capital continued its daily life, unaware that the quiet farmer who had once been thrown away by the Goddess now carried a storm inside his heart — and that the four remaining heroes were already plotting their next move.
