Chapter 61 - The goddess Save the hero

Luo Feng lifted the Cosmic Trident Spear high, purple lightning crackling violently along its black prongs. With cold, unyielding eyes he drove it straight down toward the fallen hero's neck.

Right before the tip touched skin, a blinding golden light exploded outward.

A divine barrier — the Goddess's own protection — flared into existence around the hero. The trident struck the barrier with a deafening boom. The force was too powerful. Luo Feng was caught completely off guard. The backlash slammed into him like a mountain falling from the sky. He was blasted backward, blood spraying from his mouth, body tumbling helplessly through the air toward the far stone wall of the training ground.

Before he could crash into it, the S-rank adventurers who had followed him surged forward. Strong arms caught him mid-air, cushioning the impact and gently lowering him to the ground.

Luo Feng's eyes fluttered once… then closed. He passed out, blood still leaking from the deep wounds the heroes had given him earlier.

The King saw the golden barrier and his face lit up with triumphant glee.

"The Goddess is with us!" he roared, pointing at the unconscious Luo Feng. "Kill him now! Finish the traitor while he cannot fight back!"

The royal guards immediately charged forward, swords raised, ready to execute the fallen farmer.

But the Guild Master and the gathered adventurers moved faster. They stepped between the guards and Luo Feng, weapons drawn, eyes burning with defiance.

The King's face twisted with rage. "What are you all doing?! Are you defying the King's order?!"

The Guild Master stood tall, voice steady and cold. "The heroes and the soldiers deserved every wound they received for what they did to that innocent village. Let the fight end here. We will not allow you to murder an unconscious man in cold blood."

The King looked around and saw the sea of powerful adventurers — dozens of S-rank and A-rank warriors — all standing with the Guild Master, hands on their weapons, faces hard with anger. He had no choice. His own forces were decimated. He swallowed his fury and spat through gritted teeth:

"…Fine. The fight ends here."

The adventurers quickly checked on Luo Feng. One of them reached for the Adamantite dagger lying on the ground, but the moment his fingers touched it, the weapon refused to budge — as if it weighed as much as a mountain. A second later, the Cosmic Trident Spear shimmered and vanished on its own, returning into Luo Feng's Storage Bag by itself.

They lifted the unconscious Luo Feng carefully and carried him back toward the Adventurers Guild to be treated.

Behind them, only four heroes remained alive on the blood-soaked field — their arms and legs severed, writhing in agony but still breathing thanks to the Goddess's lingering protection. The fifth hero, the one who had been cut cleanly in half earlier, lay dead in a growing pool of his own blood.

The training ground was silent except for the low groans of the wounded heroes and the distant sound of the wind.

Luo Feng was taken inside the guild, where healers immediately began working on his injuries.

The battle was over… for now.
